Physical property database for dangerous materials is essential for the prevention of misuse of them. The objective of this study is to develop a physical property database for dangerous materials. A computer program was developed for this purpose. A databank was made for the basic properties of 500 compounds. A WWW program was made for the supply of databank information and secondary properties.

The critical spontaneous ignition temperature were observered by performing experiments for mixtures which contain field collected tissue dust and some kinds of industrial lubricant. As the results of the experiments the critical spontaneous ignition temperature of mixture were lower than pure field collected dust sample for oil pressure and change gear lubricant, but higher for grease. And the critical spontaneous ignition temperature of mixture was varied according to the weight ratio of tissue and lubricant. It was found that the possibility of fire in bathroom tissue making process increase if dust and lubricant mixture produce.

Several methods exist for the prevention of dust explosions and for the mitigation of explosion effects. Explosion supression is a technique by which burning in a confined mixture is detected and arrested during the incipient stages to prevent development of pressure which could result in the damaging effects of an explosion. The main components of this system are high speed explosion detection and activation system to release the suppressant. Explosion tests were conducted in a stainless steel, cylindrical vessel having a volume of 80liter for the development of suppression system in our study. The pressure-time characteristics recorded for each explosion test was used to determine the performance of high speed explosion detection and activation system. Tests with halon suppressant showed a decrease of maximum explosion pressure. An explosion suppression system under our research operated well for high speed explosion detection but not high-rate discharge system. On this study we developed high speed explosion detection and activation technology to discharge the suppressant successifully and anticipated that this technology can be applicable to other explosion protective system.
보일러 드럼의 안전조업을 위한 동특석 모델링 및 제어기 설계

The stable and safe operation of a boiler system is essential for ensuring stability of the chemical processes. A dynamic simulation of a boiler drum was performed to identify the dynamics of the boiler drum. The obtained results represented that the variation of process variables disturb boiler system. So, disturbance rejection with tracking and constraints handing was necessary for stable operation of boiler drum. Among many controller, GPC has been known to show good performance in set point tracking than disturbance. In order to improve disturbance rejection performance measurable disturbance term was introduced in basic GPC model. The controller which had tracking and disturbance rejection was designed for improving the stable operation of a boiler system.
다중입출력 화학 공정에서의 단일예측제어기의 확장 구현에 관한 연구

기존의 모델 예측제어기들을 단일화시킨 단일예측제어기를 다중입출력 공정으로 확장 구현하였다. 간단한 공정의 제어를 통해 구현된 다중입출력 단일예측제어기의 성능과 튜닝 파라미터의 특성을 고찰하였다. 이를 토대로 하여 쉽게 외란이 제거되고 다양한 기준궤적들을 잘 추종하는 다중입출력 단일예측제어기를 얻게 되었다. 그 결과 이러한 다중입출력 단일예측제어기로써 불안정한 비최소위상의 공정과 상호간섭이 심하고 비선형인 보일러-터빈 시스템을 효과적으로 제어할 수 있었다. A unified predictive controller(UPC), which is the unification of various well-known predictive controllers, was extended to the multi-input multi-output(MIMO) processes. The effects of tuning parameters in the closed-loop system was studied through controlling an simple process. Based upon this study, it was found that MIMO UPC rejects disturbances more efficiently and follows the several reference trajectories as well. As a result, the unstable non-minimum process and the boiler-turbine system, which has strong interaction and nonlinearity, could be controlled efficiently by the MIMO UPC.
단기 임시종사자의 안전사고 원인 인식에 대한 요인구조 연구 - 테마파크를 중심으로 -

Theme parks in South Korea are classified as amusement facility businesses and correspond to the service industry along with wholesale, retail, and lodging industries. Theme park has a labor-intensive structure with many temporary workers working, leading to various accidents including minor accidents. Company A, a large theme park in Gyeonggi Province, has more than 4.8 million guests annually, and the number of temporary workers exceeds about 2,000 per day during the peak season from April to October. Therefore, this study aims to find an effective approach to prevent safety accidents at work for the temporary workers in the theme park. In this study, the cause of safety accidents was composed of the contents of a survey through interviews with 17 department heads belonging to large theme parks A and review of previous studies. A survey was conducted on 370 temporary workers belonging to Company A from December 1st to December 20th, and statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS program for the collected data. As a result of the study, the validity and reliability of the questionnaire items were found to be good, and 26 questionnaire items were composed of five factor structures: facilities, education, communication, psychology, and regulation/policy. It was confirmed that temporary workers have the highest awareness of regulatory/policy factors among the five factor structures. Next, education, communication, psychology, and facilities were in order. The results of this study are meaningful in confirming the hypothetical factor structure of the cause of safety accidents of temporary workers and confirming that there are relative differences in the recognition of importance by factor. It is believed that establishing a safety management system by focusing on factors that temporary workers perceive as important will be effective in preventing theme park safety accidents. Future research is expected to help prevent theme park industrial accidents if we investigate how the perception of the cause of safety accidents derived through this study differs from regular workers.
