Wood pellet is a densified fuel with homogeneous physical properties suitable for use in various scales of domestic and industrial furnaces. A wood pellet stove is a small-scale furnace for domestic heat production, which can replace the conventional oil or gas boilers. Since the fuel properties of wood pellet is very different from oil or gas, the design of a wood pellet stove requires profound understanding on the solid fuel combustion as well as gas flow mixing/reactions. Due to the size limit of the furnace height (~1m) for domestic installation, poor design of furnace, air supply and heat exchanger may lead to excessive emission of CO or low energy efficiencies. This study evaluated the design of an existing wood pellet stove with 30,000 ㎉/hr capacity using experimental and computational techniques in order to optimize the furnace design. The results show that it is critical to minimize the unused furnace volume and to enhance the gaseous mixing for reduced CO emission.

Pyrolysis thermally decomposes lignocellulosic materials into tar vapor and gases leaving the carbonaceous solid residue (char). Although numerous studies have been reported for this key process of biomass thermal conversion, pyrolysis remains as the most complicated phenomena due to the complexity associated with the structural changes, a large number of compounds generated and their secondary reactions. One difficulty in biomass studies is the gap between the analytical characterization using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and pyrolysis of actual large particles. This paper reports a preliminary study on the effect of particle size in pyrolysis using wood pellets. The pyrolytic mass loss curve from a TGA with fine sawdust and a thermobalance with large pellets were compared, and the difference was discussed using prediction of heat transfer rates. Further study is required on detailed product characterization including the tar and gases for various particle sizes.
간접고용 비정규직 근로자가 인식하는 조직공정성 및 조직지원인식과 직무열의의 관계에서 경력성장기회의 매개효과

이 연구는 형평이론을 기반으로 간접고용 비정규직 근로자가 인식하는 조직공정성과 조직지원인식이 직무열의와의 관계에서 경력성장기회의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구를 위해 간접고용 비정규직 근로자를 대상으로 온/오프라인 설문을 실시하여 유효한 226부의 자료를 확보하였고, PROCESS macro를 사용하여 변인 간의 경로와 매개효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 간접고용 비정규직 근로자가 인식하는 조직공정성과 조직지원인식은 직무열의와 정(+)적으로 유의미한 관계가 있으며, 이들 관계에서 경력성장기회는 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 도출한 이론적·실무적 시사점은 상대적으로 불안한 고용환경에 처해있는 간접고용 비정규직 근로자들의 직무열의를 높일 수 있는 방안을 마련하고, 고용불안을 해소할 수 있는 경력성장의 기회를 제공할 단초가 될 수 있다. The study was conducted based on the equity theory and the purpose is to analyze the mediating effect of career growth opportunity on the relationship among organizational justice, perceived organizational support, and work engagement of non-regular worker in indirect employment. For this study, online and offline surveys were conducted on non-regular workers in indirect employment. The study used data from 226 valid copies and analyzed relationship of variables and mediating effect. The organizational justice and the perceived organizational support for non-regular workers in indirect employment have been shown a significant correlation with their work engagement. Career growth opportunity was analyzed to have a mediating effect in the relationship among organizational justice, perceived organizational support and work engagement of non-regular workers in indirect employment. Therefore, career growth opportunity was found to play a role as a part of mediating variable. The theoretical and practical implications derived based on this research can be the first step to come up with ways to enhance the work engagement of non-regular workers in indirect employment, who are in a relatively unstable employment environment, and to provide opportunities for career growth to resolve job insecurity.

It is important to measure and analyze offshore platform motion data for the safety of offshore platforms that are installed in an extreme environmental conditions. Especially, in the Gulf of Mexico, because of the hurricane and loop current that has been strengthened due to changes in the ocean environment, a monitoring system is necessary to measure the offshore platform motion data in real time, as well as simultaneously analyze it for safe operation and accident prevention. In order to develop such a monitoring system, it is extremely critical to obtain accurate data. However, since data measured in real time is not suitable for analysis due to quality problems, the data must be processed. The problem is that the processed data differs depending on the processing methods being employed, and results in entirely different analysis results. Incorrect results can mislead the current state of the offshore platform causing missed maintenance periods or, in the worst case, major accidents. Therefore, verifying both the adequacy of the methods used to process the data and the accuracy of the results is most vital. In this paper, improving reliability of the monitoring system that can measure offshore platform motion data and analyze data in real time, the validity of the method used in measurement data processing and the accuracy of the processed data were verified.

The purpose of this study is to understand the overall design process and present the direction of a more concrete and developed urban architecture integration plan by analyzing urban planning and planning characteristics, understanding the process and establishing concepts. Based on this, it is expected that more advanced urban architecture integration plans will be applied in other new cities and established cities in the future by understanding the design concept of pursuing a street-centered shared city.

This study proposes the creation of ‘a communication-type small business support center’ to support the creation and cultural activities of local small businessmen to revitalize the native industry of Seongsu and gain competitiveness with large brands. The site is Daelim Warehouse in Seongsu-dong, and we want to devise a strategy to integrate residents of residential and living areas and artists with new fashion workers to coexist. The purpose is to establish a local brand based on handmade shoes and fashion belts through centers that will be supporting local industries and cultural facilities and to form a base for Seongsu-dong to grow as a hub for the clothing industry.
