Purpose : Kinesio taping is a therapeutic method used in the treatment of various musculoskeletal and neuromuscular deficits limited evidence the effects of gluteus medius kinesio taping in neurologic patients. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effects of gluteus medius kinesio taping on balance ability and gait function in after a stroke. Methods : Twenty-four post-stroke patients were included in this study. Gluteus medius taping group and sham gluteus medius taping group were divided into intervention. Kinesio tape was applied the gluteus medius muscles. In all the subjects, the balance ability was measured using the force plate and timed up & go test (TUG) and gait function was assessed using the 10-meter walking test at time points of both before and after the taping. Result : There was a significant difference in balance ability and gait function between the two groups before and after gluteus medius taping group (p<.05). The gluteus medius taping group showed a significant difference between the groups (p<.05). Conclusion : The results suggest that taping may be a useful method during rehabilitation programs for stroke patients. Application of Kinesio taping to the gluteus medius muscles was found to be useful especially in improving balance ability.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of increased gait function enhancement exercise in three adolescent convulsive cerebral palsy sinuses on children's large movement function, balance and gait function, self-efficacy, and guardian attitude. Methods : The purpose of this study was to conduct a program to strengthen trunk muscles and strengthen walking ability 5 times a week for 8 weeks in 3 children with convulsive cerebral palsy in adolescence. The main reinforcement of the program was 20 minutes of muscle strength and 20 minutes of walking on a treadmill five times a week. Exercises were focused on the reinforcement of the flexor muscles of the proprioceptive neuromuscular promotion (PNF) and the extension of the legs in the bridge posture exercise and squat movements. Results : The results of GMFM-88 to determine the effects of this functional enhancement program on the body of children with convulsive cerebral palsy, and PBS & TUG to determine the effects of balance and gait ability were improved. In addition, parenting attitudes of guardians, self-efficacy of children, and self-efficacy of parents increased positively due to mental consequences. Conclusion : The results of GMFM-88 to determine the effects of this functional enhancement program on the body of children with convulsive cerebral palsy, and PBS & TUG to determine the effects of balance and gait ability were improved. In addition, parenting attitudes of guardians, self-efficacy of children, and self-efficacy of parents increased positively due to mental consequences.

Purpose : Elastic taping is a therapeutic method, used for treatment of various musculoskeletal and neuromuscular deficits. However, there is limited evidence, of the effects of ankle elastic taping in neurologic patients. The purpose of this study, was to investigate the effect of elastic taping on gait, in the affected ankle area of chronic stroke patients. Methods : Subjects were randomized to receive 30 chronic stroke patients, who were 6 months old from the date of onset according to screening criteria. Group I showed ankle joint taping, and Group II had ankle muscle taping. Dynamic balance and temporal and spatial gait, were measured before taping application, and after 30 minutes of taping application. Results : Dynamic balance was measured using the Time up & Go test (TUG). There was statistically significant difference, between Group I and Group II (p<.05). There was no statistically significant difference, between Group I and Group II. Temporal and spatial gait were measured using GaitRite. In Group I, there was significant difference, before and after taping (p<.05). In Group II, there was no significant difference, before and after taping (p>.05). There was significant difference in Group I, between Group I and Group II (p<.05). Conclusion : Results suggest that intervention using elastic taping, may have a positive effect, on rehabilitation diversity and function in stroke patients. Based on this, it can be used for rehabilitation of stroke patients. Various studies on the application method, and effect of the application site as well as application time, should be continued with stroke patients.
