지하철 승강장에 승객의 안전과 편의를 위하여 PSD(Platform Screen Doors, 승강장 스크린도어)가 많은 역사에 설치되고 있다. 이에 따라 PSD의 안전에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. PSD시스템은 안전장치로써 안전성과 신뢰성 보증이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 RAMS 표준인 EN50128[Railway applications - The specification and demonstration of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS)]에 따라 PSD 시스템에 대한 RAMS 목표를 설정하고 RAMS 활동을 실시하였다. For the convenience and safety of passengers, PSD(Platform Screen Door) has been installed and operated at many subway stations. Consequently, the interests about PSD safety have been increased. PSD system, as a safety system, is needed the reliability and safety verification. For the safety assurance of the PSD system, SeoulMetro applies RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) program to the PSD system according to EN50128[Railway applications - The specification and demonstration of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS)]. SeoulMetro set RAMS targets. For the achievement of the RAMS targets and requirements, SeoulMetro has conducted RAMS activities in the phase of design, manufacturing, installation, test & commissioning, and operation according to the safety standards. This paper presents appropriate RAMS activities for PSD system and their results.

Platform Screen Door(PSD) has been installed in train manual operation section(ATS/ATC) by SeoulMetro since 2005. PSDs are now operating at 17 stations in SeoulMetro lines. As a result, it increases the safety of passenger, makes a comfortable platform and saves the energy of air conditioning. For PSD operation, train shall stop within 600mm of the train stop reference point. In train manual operation section, the detection system of train position is required to notify the train driver of train position and to ensure the condition that train stops the correct position for PSD operation. To detect the train stop position, the optical sensor shall be installed at platform. However, in case of SeoulMetro lines, the detection criterions of the train correct position stop are different because of using various types of trains which have different size and shape of front cars. In this paper, to solve this problem, the precise detection algorithm of the train stop at the correct position is used, and Laser distance measure sensor is introduced to notify the distance form the reference point of the train correct stop to train driver. This system has been applying to Seoul Metro line total.

Platform Screen Door(PSD) has been installed and operated at seoul subway line 1~4 in the manual train operation mode(ATS/ATC) by SeoulMetro since 2005. SeoulMetro uses the wireless (RF) communication system and the train door detection system for the link between the train and PSD doors opening/closing motion in the manual train operation mode. For the convenience and safety of passengers, the train doors and the PSD doors opening/closing shall be synchronized as much as possible. In ATO(Automatic Train Operation) mode which provides the interface between train control system and PSD system, ATO signaling system makes the train doors and PSD doors open/close command signals systematically, so PSD doors can be opened/closed almost simultaneously with the train doors. But, in the manual train control(ATS/ATC) mode, PSD system needs to detect the train doors open/close operation and make PSD open/close command signals to actuate PSD doors. These PSD open/close commanding process cause time delay of PSD doors opening/closing motion in response to the train doors opening/closing motion. Sometimes the response delay time can be over 1 second, which is not proper to operate PSD, and need to be reduced This paper presents the reduction method of the PSD response delay time to improve the convenience and safety of passengers.
