Generally, implantable microphone has been implanted in the temporal bone for implantable middle ear hearing devices (IMEHDs). In this case, the microphone"s membrane can be damaged and can be generated biological noise. In order to overcome the these problems, the location of implanted microphone should be changed. As an alternative, the microphone can be implanted in the external auditory canal or in the .pinna. However, the sound emission can be produced because of vibration transducer toward reverse direction from the tympanic membrane to the external auditory canal. In this paper, an amount of the emitted sound is measured using a probe microphone as the changing the position of microphone in the external auditory canal or in the pinna of a physical ear model, which is similar to acoustical and vibratory properties of the human ear. According to analysis of the measurements, the proper location of the microphone can be estimated which can minimize emitted sound.

Ring forging process is more appropriate for high-length and thin walled ring, because it utilizes the forging press and hence does not require heavy-duty ring rolling mill. Although ring forging process is very simple and economic for facilities, the process is not efficient because of multi-forging-step and low material utilization. An effective ring forging process is developed using a hollow ingot. When a hollow ingot is used with a workpiece, the ingot can be forged into a final ring without multi-stage pre-forging process, such as, cogging, upsetting, and piercing, etc.. Finally it has advantages of the material utilization and process improvement because few reheating and forging process are not necessary to make workpiece for ring forging. The important design variables are applied plastic deformation energy to eliminate cast structure and make uniform properties. In this study, the mechanical properties of forged shell were investigated by the experiment using sectional model and also the process conditions were designed by Fern simulation.

Finite element investigations were carried out to ring rolling for die movement. To preliminary preform design on ring rolling process. FEM analysis was performed. It is investigated effect of parameter of die movement control among these variables. When ring rolling process of symmetry shape, internal effective strain distribution draw a datum point in preliminary deformation product size.

Ring rolling simulation gives rise to poor conditioned non-linear equations that require repeated solution. The associated computational costs are extreme making analysis impracticable in industry until now. The ring rolling process involves 3D non-steady flow and continuous change of radius and thickness of the ring workpiece. In this study, a commercial FEM code FORGE-Z/3™ is used to analyze the effect of mesh size of both ring and main roll. From the simulation results, we know that the appropriate ratio of mesh system for main roll and ring with respect to the calculation time and accuracy of calculated values of ring. Therefore, we can use to predict and find the typical values related with process values, that is rotation speed and feeding amount of tools.

Good control of thermal energy helps to increase characteristics and eliminate defects of large cast-forged part, such as large sized forged shell. Thermal energy control is a important factor. We have studied about forging process and after heat treatment process by FEM simulation. There are three ways of process. Changes of temperature and microstructure for forged shell were predicted according to temperature declination in large cast-forged product. So we will be able to choose the proper time heat treatment conditions by FEM simulation.

Thermal energy control is a important factor in a large size casting and forging. Good control of thermal energy makes characteristics and defect of large cast-forged part, such as large sized forged shell. We have studied about not only large size ring forging process and after heat treatment by FEM simulation. Also, changes of temperature and microstructure for forged shell were predicted. Therefore, we can choose the proper heat treatment condition by FEA. The sectional properties confirmed by practical experiment and evaluation have presented possibilities of process design by computational analysis.
