Examination of Consignment as the Supply Chain Coordination Program

본 연구는 공급사슬협력 프로그램으로서의 위탁의 성과를 조사하였다. 세 가지 다른 공급사슬시스템, 즉 전통적, 위탁, 그리고 완전하게 협력된 시스템의 모형들은 정보교류와 비용을 고려한 일련의 다수의 의사결정과정을 나타내는 최적화문제들로 이루어져 있다. 예제를 통하여 위탁의 전통적인 시스템에 대한 우위를 조사하고, 기존의 위탁이 보다 진보된 공급사슬협력 프로그램으로 변화될 수 있는 가능성을 찾아보았다. 예제에 의하면 위탁은 공급사슬 순이익을 증가시키는 공급사슬협력 프로그램으로 사용될 가능성을 보였다. 그러나 기존의 위탁이 보다 진보된 협력프로그램으로 받아들여지기 위해서는 공동의사결정과 정보교류와 같은 협력의 부가적인 속성들을 갖추어야 할 것으로 보인다. 이 연구의 결과는 또한 위탁으로부터 최적의 성과를 얻어내기 위해서는 공급자와 구매자가 공급자의 부가적인 비용책임의 크기를 극대도 극소도 아닌 적절한 수준으로 결정해야 함을 나타낸다. This study examines the performance of the consignment, as the supply chain coordination program. The supply chain models for three different systems ? traditional, consignment, and fully coordinated systems ? are comprised of a set of optimization problems that represent series of multiple decisionmaking processes with the consideration of information sharing and cost payment. Numerical examples are used to examine the superiority of the consignment over the traditional system and discover the chance of the conventional consignment to be an advanced coordination program. Outcomes of the numerical examples imply that the consignment can be the supply chain coordination program that increases the supply chain profit. However, the conventional consignment still requires additional features of coordination such as joint decisionmaking and information sharing in order to be the advanced coordination program. The result of the analyses also indicates that the supplier and the buyer should agree on the supplier’s extra cost at the proper level, which is not either extremely high or low, in order to obtain the optimal performance from the consignment.

Nowadays, the modem design. management goes beyond the conventional concept of designing and it is applied to every business decision-making processes at the strategic level. The goal of this study is to find out what makes some companies succeed in their design. management practices. This study proposes the model representing that the companies should choose the scope of design management, which is proper to the conditions given to them Results of the case analysis on 37 companies that won the best design management awards generally support the proposed model. This result provides the managerial implication that the companies that have a higher level of design. scope should prepare a higher level of conditions required for the successful design management.
