Networked Control Systems(NCS) contain the structure which controllers, actuators and sensors are connected to communication network. And they have been adopted in large and complicated plant area due to the advantages of mitigating computational bottleneck and maintenance. Although this structure provides many benefits, it brings in problems of unpredictable communication delay, data loss and corruption. This phenomena have to be considered in designing NCSs since it affects on overall control system stability. This paper introduces network traffic test method for ethernet based NCSs to find out maximum network usage which guarantee stable control operation. Test results shows this methods can be adopted in various types of NCSs and contributes economical system design and effective system operation.

When controling combustion air flow in coal fired power plant the furnace safety must be considered first prior to plant efficiency. therefore it is very important to set air flow demand exactly for safe operation and maintenance. This paper analyze air flow control loop in power plant and introduce the method to improve dynamic response time. Simulation result shows this scheme is adoptable and provide better performance.

In this paper, we present the implementation method of Dynamic Matrix Control(DMC) block for use with a Rapid Control Prototyping(RCP) system and consider the speed control of a DC motor using the developed DMC block. Firstly, we briefly introduce a lab-built RCP system. Secondly, we present a method for implementing a DMC block using C-language, which enables the DMC algorithm to be represented in a library block that can be used in a Simulink environment. Finally, we use the developed DMC block for the speed control of a DC motor, through which we show that the DMC-based control system can be easily implemented and applied to the real-time control of systems with relatively fast dynamics.

We developed a governing control system for a hydraulic turbine power plant. In this paper, we showed a good result compared with an existing analog turbine control system by computer simulation.
