This study was conducted to analyze the emission and fuel consumption efficiency characteristics of passenger vehicles according to the various running resistances and driving cycles. In this investigation, the passenger car with 1600cc was used to analyze the emission and and fuel consumption efficiency characteristics. Also, the test driving modes were applied by the CVS-75 and HWFET modes. To analyze the emission and fuel consumption efficiency characteristics, the chassis dynamometer and emission analyzer were utilized. From this study, it is revealed that the HC and CO2 emissions in the high running resistance showed an increase of 0.2% and 5.4% in the CVS-75 mode, respectively. In the HWFET mode, the all emissions were increased by the increase of running resistance. In addition, it is guessed that the all emissions and fuel consumption efficiency was reduced and improved by the minimization of rapid acceleration and deceleration in the driving pattern.
