Several methods for excavation works in urban area or a poor soil deposit are discussed to be applied for the soldier pile method, the diaphragm wall. In this paper, the earth-retaining wall using the DCM(Deep Cement Mixing) method, including its merits, demerits and some important characteristics occured in the design and the construction stage, was introduced with measuring values. It is referred for the other design and construction by DCM.

The performance design required some items of foundations hierarchized in order to increase new acceptability of the code instead of deterministic design code in the construction market. The hierarchy structure of performance design focuses on final systematical requirements to foundation structure for its specific performance instead of allowable design method.

Structures designed by ASM(allowable stress method) instead of PBD( performance-based design) have been so far. However, foundations under buildings are increasing. Foreign countries have developed on PBD. In is paper, design schemes of performance-based methods are studied for design verification system, construction stages. In the future, PBD may be applied to geotechnical natters.

Most building structures were damaged by artificial and natural means such as soil conditions. In this paper, a case study on structure deformation from differences of ground investigation for stabilization, is studied for design, system, maintenance stages, which more considerations should be continued.

Establishing tank-type structures in several cases such as oil tanks, reserve tanks, reservoir intake tower, connecting bridges, stability problems will be considered. In this paper, it is examined about cases that may happen in tank-type construction design, construction and management step.
