Strength evaluation was carried out for the fillet and oil hole of crankshaft of medium speed diesel<br/> HiMSEN engine to verify initial concept design. Alternating torque obtained from torsional vibration<br/> analysis and radial force due to firing pressure were applied. It was assumed that the maximum<br/> alternating torque and radial force occur simultaneously. Weak points in view of fatigue are journal<br/> fillet and crank pin fillet area and the minimum normalized fatigue safety factor is 1.17 at crank pin<br/> fillet. The fatigue strength of the oil hole was evaluated to verify the effect of the surface roughness<br/> of the oil hole. As results, the specific level of the inner surface roughness and the polishing depth of<br/> the oil hole for sufficient fatigue strength was suggested. The maximum stress value and stress<br/> distribution at the inner surface of the oil hole can be easily estimated at initial design stage by the<br/> newly developed method.

In this paper, we will explain the need for a virtual model so-called Digital Twin technology in the ship engine field, and the applications of the virtual models. Unlike small automobile engines, ship engines need a lot of time and cost to do experiments. The development of the virtual models in the field of ship engines is essential to get competitiveness in the ship engine business. Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) virtual model technology, which will be introduced in this paper, can be divided into three main areas. Virtual models are used for the following areas: engine design, engine testing, and maintenance. In engine design, a predictive model is constructed based on combustion analysis, structural analysis, and performance analysis to predict engine performance required for designing the target value. For engine testing, the total number of tests can be reduced by using virtual models to determine the direction of the test or in conjunction with existing test data to reduce time and cost. In terms of maintenance, the ship engine’s big data system is used based on numerous engine operating data accumulated so far and is used to predict failures and diagnose engines by utilizing virtual models with AI technology. Lastly, this paper will be concluded by discussing the future of virtual model technology in the ship engine field by introducing “Smart Engine 5.0” which is the future of the virtual model pursued by HHI.

In this study, an optimal design study has been made to determine dimensions of die and multi stress rings for extrusion process. For this purpose, a thermo-rigid-viscoplastic finite element program, CAMPform, was used fur forming analysis of extrusion process and a developed elastic finite element program fur elastic stress analysis of the die set including stress rings. And an optimization program, DOT, was employed for the optimization analysis. From this investigation, it was found out that the amount of shrink fitting incurred by the order of assembly of the die set should be taken into account for optimization when the multi stress rings are used in practice. In addition, it is construed that the proposed design method can be beneficial fur improving the tool life of cold extrusion die set.
차량 통신 환경에서GeoRouting 프로토콜 성능 분석

The Multihop Routing of vehicle communication environment is difficult to maintain due to heavy fluctuation of network topology and routing channel according to the movement of the vehicle, road property, vehicle distribution. We implemented GeoNetworking on the basis of ETSI(European Telecommunication Standard Institute) to maintain the vehicle safety service. GeoNetworking has its own way that delivers the data through the Unicast and Broadcast. In this paper, we compared performance index such as packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay about GeoNetworking using the QualNet Network Simulator. Previous research assessed performance of GeoUnicast. This research has been additionally performed about GeoBroadcast, and we progressed algorithm performance through the comparison of CBF(Contention based Forwarding) of GeoUnicast with Greedy forwarding of GeoBroadcast. 차량 통신 환경의 멀티 홉 라우팅은 차량의 이동성, 도로 특성, 차량 분포에 따라 네트워크 토폴로지 및 라우팅 경로의 심한 변동 때문에 지속적으로 유지하기 어렵다. 차량 안전 서비스 유지를 위해 유럽 통신 표준(ETSI: European Telecommunication Standard Institute)을 기반으로 하여 GeoNetworking을 구현하였다. GeoNetworking은 유니캐스트와 브로드캐스트로 데이터를 전달하는 방식이 있다. 본 논문에서는 QualNet 네트워크 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 GeoNetworking에 대한 패킷 전달율과 종단 간 지연 등의 성능 지표를 비교하였다. 이전 연구[5]는 GeoUnicast의 성능만을 평가했다. 본 연구에서는 GeoBroadcast에 대한 연구도 추가적으로 수행하였고, GeoUnicast의 CBF(Contention based Forwarding)와 GeoBroadcast의 Greedy 전달 알고리즘을 비교하여 GeoNetworking에 대한 알고리즘 성능 평가를 진행하였다.
박용엔진 피스톤 스커트 프로파일 변경에 의한 마찰손실(FMEP) 저감 연구

The piston of a marine diesel engine works under severe conditions, including a combustion pressure of over 180 bar, high thermal load, and high speed. Therefore, the analyses of the fatigue strength, thermal load, clamping (bolting) system and lubrication performance are important in achieving a robust piston design. Designing the surface profile and the skirt ovality carefully is important to prevent severe wear and reduce frictional loss for engine efficiency. This study performs flexible multi-body dynamic and elasto-hydrodynamic (EHD) analyses using AVL/EXCITE/PU are performed to evaluate tribological characteristics. The numerical techniques employed to perform the EHD analysis are as follows: (1) averaged Reynolds equation considering the surface roughness; (2) Greenwood_Tripp model considering the solid_to_solid contact using the statistical values of the summit roughness; and (3) flow factor considering the surface topology. This study also compares two cases of skirt shapes with minimum oil film thickness, peak oil film pressure, asperity contact pressure, wear rate using the Archard model and friction power loss (i.e., frictional loss mean effective pressure (FMEP)). Accordingly, the study compares the calculated wear pattern with the field test result of the piston operating for 12,000h to verify the quantitative integrity of the numerical analysis. The results show that the selected profile and the piston skirt ovality reduce friction power loss and peak oil film pressure by 7% and 57%, respectively. They also increase the minimum oil film thickness by 34%.
탄성유체윤활해석에 의한 연료 펌프 저널베어링 최적간극 선정 연구

The electric controlled marine diesel engine has fuel pump generating the high pressurized fuel for fuel injection to combustion chamber via a common rail. Fuel pump consists of a cam-roller system. Journal bearing installed between a roller and a cam-roller pin is subjected to fluctuating heavy and instant loads by cam lift. First, Kinematic analysis is carried out to predict bearing loads during one cycle acting on the journal bearing. Second, flexible multi-body dynamic analysis and transient elasto-hydrodynamic(EHD) lubrication analysis for journal bearing considering elastic deformation of cam-roller pin, roller and bearing are conducted using AVL EXCITE/PU software to predict lubrication performance. The clearance ratio and journal groove shape providing lubrication oil are important parameter in bearing design having good performance and can be changed easier than other design parameters such as diameter, width, oil supply pressure and bearing material grade. Generally, journal bearing performance is represented by the minimum oil film thickness(MOFT) and peak oil film pressure(POFP). As well as the traditional design parameters(MOFT, POFP), in this study, temperature rise of lubrication oil is also evaluated through the side leakage flow of supplied oil. By the evaluating MOFT, POFP and temperature rise, the optimum bearing clearance ratio is decided.

In this paper, a study an standardization of control cable numbering for high speed railway substation. Standard numbering structure of substation control cable and consistency of the number system are important for the railway substation construction and maintenance. However, currently control cable number system of railway substation was not standardization which was different according to a bander and a construct company. Therefor there is many difficult which does a same function to differ in maintenance and repair to accident. Therefor Standardizes the number system of the substation control cable is useful for an improve of construction and maintenance.
