The objective of paper is to study the reinforcing effects of fiber volume fraction and aspect ratio in short-fiber filled ceramic matrix composites. The parameters of fracture mechanics, K and J are applied to assess fracture toughness and bridging effect. It is found that fracture toughness is greatly influenced by the fiber bridging, Also, the nonlinear fracture analysis such as J-integral is more effective than LEFM for short-fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites. For the reinforcing effects as functions of fiber volume fraction and aspect ratio, fracture toughness is increased rapidly with fiber volume fraction and aspect ratio as expected.
취성기지 복합재료에서 연성 단섬유의 함유량 및 형상에 관한 보강특성

The reinforcing effects of ductile short-fiber reinforced brittle matrix composites are studied by, measuring flexural strength, fracture toughness and impact energy as functions of fiber volume fraction and length. The parameters of fracture mechanics, K and J are applied to assess fracture toughness and bridging stress. It is found that fracture toughness is greatly, influenced by the bridging stress ill which fiber pull-out is occur. For the reinforcing effects as functions of fiber volume fraction($V_f$ = 1, 2, 3 %) and length(L = 3, 6. 10cm), the flexural strength is maximum at $V_f$ = 1% and both fracture toughness.
고속압밀된 열가소성수지 복합재료의 성형조건에 따른 파괴현상 연구

Acoustic emission technique(AE) has been used to find out the irregular fracture behaviors and complicated reinforcing mechanisms of glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite. By studying the AE event and amplitude distribution from this composite, the initiation and progress of fracture depending on the degree of void content have been interpreted. As the fiber volume fraction increased up to 50%, fracture toughness, tensile and impact strengths increased accordingly. As a function of processing conditions such as mold temperature and the cooling rate, the degree of internal defects has been studied using AE event and amplitude. These numbers also have been related with the values of fracture toughness and tensile, impact, interlaminar shear strengths. This type of material has its best mechanical properties as AE event is decreased. Also, the best manufacturing condition for this material can be suggested by Weibull distribution.
Effects of Monosodium Glutamate od Locomotor Activity in Adult Inbred Rat

Monosodium glutamate (MSG)는 혈관뇌 관문을 통과하지는 못하지만 헐관뇌 관문인 없는 횐쥐 뇌의 뇌실주위기관에 흥분성 독작용을 일으켜서 신경세포의 파괴를 일으킨다. 근친 교배인 횐쥐에 MSG를 체중당 4 또는 8 mg/g의 양으로 피하 주사하였을때 이것은 운동활동성의 증가를 가져오고 생체리듬의 혼란을 야기시킨다. 이러한 현상은 기저핵내의 glutamate의 수용체의 활성화, 세포성 탈수와 망막세포의 파괴로 일어난다고 생각된다. Reserpine (RSP)은 항정신병, 고혈압 치료제이며 안정제로 알져져 있고 전시냅스 말단에서 5-hydroxytryptamine과 catecholamine의 저장을 방해해서 무운동증과 경직성과 같은 Parkinson's disease의 주된 증상이 운동활동성의 결과에서 보여진다. 흑색치밀부의 신경세포 퇴화로 인해 생기는 선조체에서 dopamine의 소실은 Parkinson's disease의 주된 증상을 일으킨다고 알려져 있다. RSP의 일회 처리에 의해 glutamate의 양적 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났지만, reserpine syndrome에 의해 야기되는 운동활동성은 심하게 감소했다. RSP를 전처리하고 MSG를 처리한 경우에 나타나는 운동활동성의 지속적인 감소는 MSG에 의한 신경세포의 파괴와 RSP에 의해 나타나는 것으로 보이고 glutamate의 양은 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. MSG는 운동활동성에 있어서 RSP를 처리한 경우와 처리를 하지 않은 경우에 처리양에 따라 운동활동성에 흥분성 독작용을 일으킨다고 생각된다.
The Generation of an Efficient Binary Template by Synthesizing Patterns in a Class

Binary template matching is one of the pattern classification methods that compares the similarities between a pattern and templates of classes and that determines the corresponding class of the given pattern. In the application of this technique, it is important to create the appropriate template representing the characteristic feature of each class because it can considerably influence the pattern classification performance. In this paper, we present a binary template generation method by synthesizing known patterns in a given class and rigorously examine optimal parameter condition for efficient template generation with the concept of probability. To verify the effectiveness of this mathematical analysis, we apply the proposed method to the classification of hand-written digit images and confirm that the classification efficiency is significantly improved by using the templates generated under the optimal parameter condition.
