        곽은주,송인순,정용준,조영채 韓國保健敎育.健康增進學會 2003 보건교육건강증진학회지 Vol.20 No.2

This study has examined the degree of depression and anxiety among high school students in an urban area and then explored the factors influencing their depression and/or anxiety status. Self-administered questionnaires were offered to 2,381 students from ten high schools in Daejon Metropolitan City. The items for investigation included such factors as various characteristics of school and family life, daily life style, and the degree of depression and anxiety. Based on the study results, the following conclusions were made; 1. The distribution according to the depression degree has shown that 61.9% of students were normal, 32.9% of students had mild depression, 5.0% moderate depression, and 0.3% severe depression. As for anxiety, 40.2% of students were normal, while 19.1% were classified as having anxiety and 40.7% borderline anxiety. 2. As regards to the degree of depression and anxiety, it was greater in girls than boys, in 3rd graders than 1st and 2nd graders, and in the groups who have recieved lower grades in studies, who had poor relations with their friends and a low feeling of satisfaction with school life. In particular, concerning various characteristics of family life, the scores of depression and anxiety were higher in the groups whose financial conditions were poor, whose parents' interests were lower, whose degree of satisfaction with their family and school life was lower, than their counterparts. 3. According to their life styles higher scores of depression and anxiety were found in the groups whose sleeping time was inappropriate, whose breakfasts were skipped, who ate daily snacks, who didn't take regular exercises, and who had poor health habits, compared to their counterparts, respectively. 4. As for the correlation between the degree of depression and its associated variables, the higher scores of depression were in positive correlation with the groups who had lower grades in studies, poor relation with their friends, low feeling of satisfaction with school and home life, low parents' interest, poor subjective condition of health, breakfast skipping, lack of regular exercises, and lower indices of health habits. 5. As for anxiety, the higher scores of anxiety were in the positive correlation with the groups with poor relation with their friends, low feeling of satisfaction with school and family life, poor subjective condition of health, lack of regular exercises, and poor health habits. 6. The influential factors on the depression of students were selected such as subjective condition of health, sex, feeling of satisfaction with family and school life, grades in studies, relation with their friends, presence of regular exercises, degree of interest of parents, sleeping time, cigarette smoking and eating breakfast. 7. The influential factors on the anxiety state of students were selected such as subjective condition of health, feeling of satisfaction with family and school life, sex, sleeping time, regular exercises, cigarette smoking, snacking and relations with their friends. The present study results suggest that girls rather than boys, higher graders than lower ones are more vulnerable to anxiety and depression state, and besides, various characteristics of school and family life, and daily life style can be influential on students' emotional states. Therefore, better management of psychological status of students is thought to require a wide variety of measures to modify the influencing factors and to encourage social support.

        송인순,조영채,김수영,박암,손경선,이태용,이동배 大韓産業醫學會 1997 대한직업환경의학회지 Vol.9 No.1

This study was performed to compare the cadmium accumulation levels in kidney with urinary cadmium excretion levels according to the duration of cadmium exposure in rats. Total 120 male rats, 6 weeks of age, were administered 0.5 mg/day of Cd to subcutaneously, intraperitoneally and orally 6 times per week for 12 weeks. The animals were sacrificed in the 1st day of 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th week after beginning of cadmium administrations. Body weight, hematologic values, enzyme activities, renal Cd levels, urinary Cd and proteins were calculated and each value was compared according to the Cd administration routes. The Cd accumulation levels in the kidney of rats increased remarkably for 6-8th weeks which were experimented and urinary Cd excretion levels and urinary protein levels showed the tendency of increasing with the Cd accumulations in kidneys, especially in the subcutaneous injected rats. On the other hand, there was a significant positive correlation among the total Cd administration, the Cd accumulation in the kidneys, the urinary Cd excretion and protein.

중학생의 피로자각증상과 체형 및 건강의식과의 관련성에 관한 연구

        송인순,조영채 韓國學校保健學會 1997 韓國學校保健學會誌 Vol.10 No.2

In order to investigate the complaint rates of subjective fatigue symptoms and study the relationship between them and body typo, health awareness in middle school students, we carried out a survey of 1,209 students (654 boy students and 555 girl students) at a middle school in Taejon City by a self-recorded questionnaire. The survey was conducted in June, 1997. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Among complaints of fatigue,"feel like lying down"was the highest, followed by "feel anxious about things", feel drowsy', "yawning a lot" , "eye strain" and "whole body feels tired' in descending order. 2. In the average weighted score of fatigue complaint, dullness and sleepiness (I) was the highest, followed by a difficulty in concentration (Ⅱ) and bodily projection of fatigue (Ⅲ) in descending order. Fatigue seems to create mental stress rather than physical burdens. 3. In the classification of body type based on the R??hrer index, the obesity type (145 and above) was 11.0%, standard type (110∼ 144) was 64.7% and leptosomic type (109 and below) was 24.3%. Comparison between both sexes revealed that the rate of obesity and leptosomic types were significantly higher in boy students than in girl students. 4. In terms body type awareness, the statistics are the following those who consider themselves to be standard type,44.3%, slightly obese 24.5%, leptosomic, 23.5% and obese 7.8%. However, the level of obesity awareness was significantly higher in girl students than in boy students. 5. As for health awareness, 36.5% considered themselves healthy, 5.4% generally healthy and 10.1% a little unhealthy, but the level of unhealthy awareness was higher in girl students than in boy students. 6. In the relationship between body type and health awareness, moat students thought that they were obese in spite of their standard body type. Also, many students who were obese and leptosomic tended to consider themselves to be a little unhealthy..7 The more the students were obese or felt unhealthy, the more the average weighted score of fatigue complaints was high.

산업장 근로자들의 연령과 건강습관에 따른 비만, 혈압 및 혈청지질의 특성

        조영채,송인순 대한보건협회 2000 대한보건연구 Vol.26 No.2

This study was performed to monitor the characteristics of the levels of BMI, blood pressure and serum lipids(total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol) according to age and health behavior in industrial workers. The subjects for this study were 3,981 industrial workers(male 2,467, female 1,514) who underwent medical examinations at a general hospital in Taejon City. We analyzed the data obtained from medical examinations and questionnaires for their health behavior from January 1, 1998 to December 31, 1999 BMI and blood pressure were lower at the age group of 20s' than those of any other groups of both sexes, and the sequential trends of those showed increasing patterns as the age increased. The level of total cholesterol, triglyceride and LDL-cholesterol were lowest at the age group of 20s'of both sexes, and those levels showed increasing patterns by 50s', but decreased at 60s'. The level of HDL-cholesterol was highest at the age group of 20s', and it gradually decreased by 50s', but thereafter increased at 60s'. In comparison of health practicing group with non-practicing group in terms of health behavior, BMI of non-practicing group was significantly higher than that of practicing group in both sexes. In male, blood pressure was higher in health practicing group than non-practicing group, but it was reversed in female. Total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol were significantly higher in non-practicing group than in practicing group of both sexes, but they were reversed in the case of HDL-cholesterol. These results of this study suggested that age and health behavior is associated with BMI, blood pressure, and serum lipid levels. Therefore, we need to develop the new programme for the effective practice of health behavior.

        김현정,송인순,정용준,송기철,박병강,조영채 대한보건협회 2002 대한보건연구 Vol.28 No.1

This study was performed to assess the degree of depression, find out the affecting factors of depression among older persons and manifest their psychological status. The subjects included the old people aged more than 65 years old who reside in urban areas. The interviews were delivered to 635 individuals in Taejon metropolitan city for the two-month period from June to July, 2000 and Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale was used for surveying the degree of depression. The collected data were statistically processed by SPSSWIN(ver 10.0) and led to the following results: The degree of depression among 635 subjects showed that 26.6% had mild depression, 8.2% moderate and 0.6% severe, while 64.6% were normal. Based on general characteristics, the degrees of depression were significantly higher in the female group, the older, the lower educated, the ones without cohabitants or spouse, and the ones without making expenses of living for themselves. Based on daily activities and psychological characteristics, the degrees of depression were higher in the group who don't go out, who don't have recreational or friendly gatherings, who aren't satisfied with the lives of the past or present, who have a sense of isolation, and who don't have the will to live. Based on the daily life styles, the degrees of depression were significantly higher in the group who don't have breakfast, and don't exercise or sports, but the variables of eating sneak, alcohol drinking, smoking and sleeping time were not significants. According to the seven items of health practice indices(HPI) and subjective health indices(SHI), the lower the scores come out, the higher the degrees of depression show up. The correlation coefficients between depression scores and related variables were significantly negative correlations in educational level, recreational activity, satisfaction of present lives, the will to live and subjective health status, while there is a positive correlation in a sense of isolation. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that the variable having effects on depression symptoms showed up the positive relations in the age and the sense of isolation, while showed up the negative relations in the educational level, the presence of spouse or not, recreational activity, the will in life, the eat breakfast or not, the drinking or not. the exercise or not, and subjective health status.

산업장 남성 근로자들의 건강습관에 관련된 혈액학적 검사소견의 변화

        박승필,정용준,박병강,송기철,송인순,조영채 대한보건협회 2002 대한보건연구 Vol.28 No.1

To have an understanding of the impact of each of various life styles on the hematologic findings, 2,642 healthy male workers were investigated, who participated in the general health check-up in a university hospital during the 2-year period from Jan. 1, 1998 to Dec. 31, 1999, in terms of the relation between such factors as age, smoking, drinking and exercise, and each of their hematologic values. The results were as follows: Blue collar workers showed significantly higher level of hemoglobin, hematocrit, each of corpuscular values of erythrocyte(MCV, MCH, and MCHC), and neutrophil count as well as total leukocytes, than white collar workers. Based on age, the older age group showed significantly lower levels of hemoglobin while significantly higher levels in hemoglobin, hematocrit, each of corpuscular values of erythrocyte. In addition, the older age group showed significantly higher counts of neutrophil, lymphocyte, eosinophil, basophil as well as total leukocytes. The smoking group showed increased level, over non-smoking group, of such hematologic determination as hemoglobin, hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, total leukocytes, and counts of neutrophil, lymphocyte, eosinophil. The more smoking years were associated with significantly higher level of hemoglobin, hematocrit, MCV, MCH, total leukocytes, counts of neutrophil, lymphocyte and eosinophil, and the more cigarettes-a-day with significantly higher level of hemoglobin, total leukocytes, counts of lymphocyte and eosniophil. Irrespective of smoking status, the significantly higher levels of hematocrit, MCV, MCH, total leukocytes, neutrophil counts were found according to the increasing age. The drinking group showed, over non-drinking group, significantly higher level of total leukocytes, and specifically the group with the higher intake of drinking per occasion were associated with the significantly levels of hemoglobin, total leukocytes, eosinophil counts. The simple correlation among each determination of hematologic values revealed the signficantly normal correlation among hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, total leukocytes, counts of neutrophil and lymphocytes.
