Phenylmercuric 8-oxyquinolinate의 殺菌作用 및 이의 理化學的 性質에 關한 硏究

In an experiment to evaluate the various aspects of symptom of witches' broom of jujube tree with two different kinds of scions, taken from diseased plant and stem- grafted upon sound stocks-one cut before wintering(stored in cellar), the other after wintering, it was observed that the disease rate of those cut before wintering(Nov.) was whereas those cut after wintering(March) showed much lower rate, initially and gradually increased up to . In another experiment of diseased bud grafted into healthy seedling, the finding made in the following year was that 14 stocks(only one of which salt union by callusing) were infected out of the given 23- in the initial stage only 4, yet gradually increased to the number of 14. The shoots from the ground portion of the diseased stock were in general more quickly subjected to the disease than the others. Under natural condition, the diseased trees develop at first seemingly the same leaves as healthy ones, it is not until the branches and loaves grow to a considerable degree that the symptom appears. Once appearing, tile disease grows and the symptom continues to appear as late as in Sept. and early Oct., causing tile plant to develop the extraordinary branches and leaves of extremely reduced size, the typical symptom of witches' broom. Such phenomenon can be observed in the experiments of the foregoing paragraphs. And the suckers and roots of diseased plant are bound to be infected, it was found out with no exception. Viewing from the results of the above experiments and observation, it is believed that the low temperature during winter causes the virus in the above-ground portion of diseased plant to diminish or inactivated, and subsequently the virus in the roots moves up or multiply in the sprouting season.
Phenylmercuric 8 - oxyquinolinate 의 합성과 그 살균효과에 대하여

8-Hydroxyquinoline, known to have the therapeutic effect to fusarium; and to diminish the amount of evaporation because of reducing the size of the stomata, and a new compound, phenylmercuric 8-oxyquinolinate, were synthesized. The fungicidal effect and diminishing effect of evaporation in phenylmercuric 8-oxyquinolinate were studied and the results are as follows. 1) 8-Hydroxyquinoline(m.p. 74∼75°, white needle crystalline) was synthesized by Skraup's method. 2) Phenylmercuric 8-oxyquinolinate(m.p. 159∼160℃, yellowish brown needle crystalline) was synthesized by reacting phenylmercuricacetate to 8-hydroxyquinoline. 3) The orders of the fungicidal effects are; a) To Cochliobolus miyabeanus P.M.A.〈P.M.I.〈phenylmercuric 8-oxyquinolinate b) To Fusarium oxysporum var. nicotinae P.M.I.〈phenylmercuric 8-oxyquinolinate〉 P.M.A 4) Phenylmercuric radical was absorbed completely during elution from Amberolite IR-120. 5) The diminishing effect of evaporation was maximum at 20 p.p.m in phenylmercuric 8-oxyquinolinate. 6) From the above results, the new compound is isuggested to have both fungicidal effect anddiminshing effect of evaporation.
Nicotiana 속에 (屬) 있어서 Tetrazolium Oxidase Isozyme 의 전기영동적 (電氣泳動的) 변이에 관한 연구

Four kinds of Nicotiana species and five varieties belonging to N. tabacum were used as materials for electrophoretic analysis of the tetrazolium oxidase isozyme to examine the taxonomic affinity among them based on the biochemical property. All the five varieties of N. tabacum showed same isosyme bands despite the fact that these varieties had notably varied characteristics including morphological traits. The band patterns were more or less different among the four species. Although N. rustica and N. tabacum were of the same genome group of AABB, their isozyme bands showed considerable difference. N. sylvestris, genome A donor of Nicotiana species, was found to be markedly different from N. tabacum in band pattern, including the absence of system 2 in N. sylvestris.
人爲突然變異 利用에 依한 小麥品種改良 Ⅰ. 小麥에 대한 γ 線과 EMS의 處理効果

As basic research to select useful mutants, this experiment was conducted to investigate biological response in M₁seedlings of wheat varieties, Yongkwang and Jaekwang, treated with gamma ray and EMS. On dormant seeds, gamma ray treatment was performed at the dosage of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 50 kr, and EMS at the concentration of 0.05, 0.075, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25 and 0.30 mole. No effect in germination rate was found in variety Yongkwang by gamma ray irradiation, while significant effect was observed in Jaekwang, although it was not in proportion to the dosage. In emergence rate, significant decrease was shown in both varieties with the gamma ray treatment. As the EMS concentration increased, significant reduction in germination and emergence rate was observed in both varieties. Germination speed was not influenced with the gamma ray treatment, whereas it was slowed with the increase in EMS concentration. In both varieties, seedling survival rate 45 days after sowing was not affected by either gamma ray or EMS treatment. The growth of young roots, seedlings and young leaves was gradually inhibited with the increase of gamma ray dose and EMS concentration. On the basis of the above results, 50 per cent growth reduction dosage or concentration was determined in this study, and it was found that radiosensitivities of the wheat was dependent on varieties and mutagens. 本 實驗은 小麥品種 永光과 再光에 gamma線과 EMS를 處理하여 有用變異體를 選拔하는 過程 中에 얻은 M₁幼植物體의 生物學的 反應을 調査한 것이다. (1) 發芽率에 對한 gamma線 處理效果는 永光에서는 없었으나 再光은 線量에 比例하지는 않으나 有意性이 있었고, 成苗率은 兩 品種 모두 有意한 減少를 보였다. 그리고 EMS處理效果는 發芽率과 成苗率이 兩 品種에서 濃度增加에 따라 모두 有意性있게 減少하였다. (2) 幼苗 生存率에 있어서는 gamma線과 EMS處理效果가 없었다. (3) 幼根, 幼苗 그리고 本葉의 生長은 gamma線과 EMS處理에 對한 障害가 處理量 增加에 따라 直線的으로 增加하였다. (4) 品種에 따라 mutagen에 對한 生物學的 反應이 相異할 뿐 아니라 同一品種 內에서도 mutagen 種類에 따라서 差異를 보이고 있다.
