Production technologies for aluminum rolling stocks are mainly related to welding of aluminum alloys. Automatic welding of extrusion profiles and contol of welding deformations are the important contents of the production technologies. Another production technology other than welding is the technique for surface treatment of aluminum carbody. In this paper, problems caused during construction of the test carbody are described and the remedies for the problems are suggested. The accumulated experiences and systematic data will be helpful for the mass production of aluminum rolling stocks in the furture.

This paper deals with a method to predict the noise level inside metro electric cars running a single-line tunnel at the speed of 80 ㎞ per hour using ray tracing method, a kind of ray acoustics generally used for a high-frequency and air-born noise analysis. The interior of the car including a under-frame, seats, side doors, end doors, door-pockets, side panels, end panel, a roof panel and so on is modeled. And in order to describe the noise power coming inside, artificial noise sources are designated using sound transmission loss data of each section measured from simple tests and external noise level. The noise level inside the car is calculated and its properties are investigated. The results satisfy the criteria on noise level inside the car.
스텐레스 차체 스폿용접부의 최적 피치 선정에 관한 연구

The pitch of spot-weld is a important variable in a view of both production cost and strength of car-body. Various conditions for the selection of pitches have been researched and especially in this paper the buckling analysis is carried out for the 2-sheet pannel structures. The optimal pitch is obtained by optimization program and FEM, which can enhance the buckling strength.

Based on the development of designed technology for aluminum carbody, the prototype aluminum carbody has been constructed. All extrusion profiles required for the carbody has been produced and their quality has also been proven. For sound construction, welding technology to join aluminum extrusion profiles has been developed and jigs for precise assembly of blocks have been made. The aluminum carbody for urban subway train has been completed with the required chamber being set and the welding deformations being constrained by jigs. The safety of the carbody structure has also been proven by the static load test. And also, painting technology has been developed and the surface of the carbody has been pre-treated and painted. The developed technology to construct the aluminum carbody can be used in mass production of aluminum cars ordered by domestic and foreign customers.
스텐레스 철도차량 외판 압흔 깊이 감소를 위한 스폿용접용 전극팁 개발

Stainless rolling stocks are usually fabricated by spot welding process without painting. Indentation on the surface of the car body after spot welding injures the beauty of the stainless rolling stocks. In this study, electrode tips to reduce the indentation are developed and applied to the actual spot welding works. The developed tips are composed of head, neck, hole for cooling water, body and resistance material. They provide large surface contact area with the base materials during spot welding and enhance the current density by necking. Experimental results using the developed tips show that small indentation and sufficient tensile shear strength is produced due to large contact area and enhanced current density.

장거리 부유식 해중철도는 비상 상황에 대해서도 승객의 안전을 확보해야 한다. 특히, 해중철도 부근에서 테러나 사고에 의해 수중폭발이 발생하였을 경우, 함체에 치명적인 손상을 가할 수 있으므로, 충분한 강도를 확보해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 설계 목적으로 해중철도 인근에서 수중폭발이 발생한 경우, 경험에 기초한 공식을 이용하여 충격압을 추정하고, 충격압에 의한 해중철도의 응답을 해석할 수 있는 간이 해석 방법을 제안하였다. 해중철도 함체를 탄성지지된 보로 이상화하고, 초기 최대 충격압이 작용하는 보에 대해 정적 유한요소해석을 실시한 후, 동하중계수와 조합함으로 최대 변위 및 굽힘모멘트를 계산한다. 간이 해석 결과는 상용 유한요소해석 소프트웨어를 이용한, 시간에 따른 과도응답해석 결과와 비교하여 양호한 일치를 보임을 확인하였다. Long distance submerged floating railway must be designed to secure passengers’ safety even in case of accidental events . Underwater explosion caused by terrorists or accident is the most critical event to long submerged structures. To design a safe submerged floating railway against underwater explosion, its behavior must be investigated and clarified. In this paper, first, shock waves and impulse pressures generated by a charge away from the submerged floating railway are expressed by the formulas coming from the experimental results. Second, the submerged floating railway tethered by mooring lines and anchors is modeled as a simply supported uniform beam with continuous elastic springs. Finite element analysis for the beam model subjected to the impulse loading is conducted by using a commercial code so that the response of the submerged floating railway can be investigated. For design purpose, simplified analysis method combined with dynamic load factor is also proposed for the same model. Maximum deformation and internal forces are calculated by this method and compared with the time dependent analysis results. It is shown that the simplified analysis result gives good agreement with the time dependent analysis one.
인터모달 트램 차체 경량화를 위한 신개발 스테인레스 강재 적용성 연구

신규 개발된 초연성 듀플렉스 스테인레스강은 강도와 연성이 우수하기 때문에 철도차량 차체에 적용하여 경량화와 가공 효율화에 기여할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 듀플렉스 스테인레스강의 장점을 인터모달 트램 차체에 활용하기 위해 점용접성 시험을 수행하였다. 다양한 두께 (0.4mm에서 5.0mm까지)의 시편을 가공하고 점용접 시험을 통해 적정 용접조건을 찾아내었다. 인장하중 시험을 통해 점용접 이음의 인장-전단 강도를 평가하였고, 품질을 확인하기 위해 너깃 지름을 측정하였다.인장-전단 하중 시험 결과의 분석을 통해, 이음부의 인장-전단 강도는 입열 파라미터에 비례함을 알 수 있었다. 인장-전단 강도와 너깃 지름는 모두 규격에서 요구하는 기준을 만족함도 입증되었다. 전체적인 용접성 시험 결과, 듀플렉스 스테인레스강 소재는 인터모달 트램 차체에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. The newly developed super ductile duplex stainless steel (SDSS) has good strength and ductility, and it can be used to reduce weight and improve the fabrication efficiency of a carbody of a rolling stock. In this study, spot weldability tests were conducted to take advantage of SDDSS in a carbody for an intermodal tram. Specimens of various thickness (0.4 to 5.0 mm) were prepared to find the proper welding conditions, and tensile load tests were conducted to evaluate the tensile-shear strength of spot welded joints. Then, nugget diameters were measured to verify the quality. The tensile-shear strength was found to be proportional to the heat parameter. It was verified that the tensile-shear strengths and nugget sizes of the joints satisfy the standard requirements. The overall weldability tests confirmed that SDDSS can be used effectively for the carbody of an intermodal tram.
