The NDIR works as a method for many gas detection systems. It is known that the FID method is more appropriate for the THC exhaust measurement system. This study evaluates the photo acoustic sensor applied to NDIR. It is for the purpose of improving sensitivity to the THC measurement system. It will show that there is a good relationship between the calculation of exhaust gas signals, and experimental signals of some mixed gases. There is also a comparison made between the NDIR and FID methods. These results demonstrate that the photo acoustic sensor applied NDIR system can be used for many THC exhaust measurement systems.

An experimental study on diesel particulates size measurement is presented. The TIRE-LII system was established and calibrated using carbon black for diesel particulate size measurement. It contains a new designed sensor head which makes it easier to be measured. Through SEM image acquisition and LII signal analysis, we can understand that it is possible to use carbon black for diesel particle simulation. There were few correlations observed in temperature, carrying gas and flow rate. However, an amount of difference was observed in different size of primary particles.
5·18민주화운동이 지역경제에 미친 경제적 영향 분석: 통제집단합성법(SCM)을 이용한 접근

본 연구는 통제집단 합성법(Synthetic Control Method, SCM)을 사용해 518민주화운동이 광주/전남지역에 미친 부정적 충격을 계량경제학적으로 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 통제집단 합성법은 미시계량경제학의 이중차분법과 유사한 방법론으로 국가, 지역 등의 거시집계변수들에 적용하여 특정 사건의 인과관계 규명을 위해 처치집단과 통제집단의 사건 이후의 성과차이를 계량하는 데이터 중심 추계 방법론이다. 본 연구에서는 1980년 기준 광역 지방자치 단체의 지방세수 자료를 지역의 경제력에 대한 대리변수로 하고 여러 사회 경제적 지표를 통해 518민주화운동이 광주/전남 지역의 경제에 미친 영향을 분석했다. 본 연구에서는 1971년부터 2000년까지 자료를 사용하여 분석하였는데 실증 분석 결과 1980년을 기준으로 최대 17%까지 광주/전남 지역의 지방세수가 정상 경로와 비교하면 덜 걷혔다고 분석할 수 있었다. 또한 통제집단 합성법의 강건성 분석 방법인 시점이동 위약효과 분석과 공간이동 위약효과 분석을 통해서도 이러한 분석의 유의함을 확인할 수 있었다. The purpose of this study is to econometrically analyze the negative impact of the May 18 Democratic Uprising on the Gwangju/Jeonnam regionional economy using the Synthetic Control Method (SCM). The SCM SCM is a methodology similar to the difference-in-difference(DID) method of microeconometrics. It is applied to macroeconomic variables such as country, region, etc. to estimate the causal relationship between specific events and the dependent variable. In this study, as of 1980, local tax revenue data of metropolitan local governments were used as a proxy variable for the economy of the region, and the impact of the May 18 Democratic Uprising on the economy of Gwangju/Jeonnam region was analyzed through various socio-economic indicators. In this study, data were used to analyze from 1971 to 2000, and as a result of empirical analysis, local tax revenues in Gwangju/Jeonnam area were less collected than normal routes up to 17%. In addition, the significance of this analysis was confirmed through in-time placebo effect analysis and in-space placebo effect analysis, which are methods of analyzing the robustness of the control group synthesis method.

Limited petroleum fuel and green house effect are increasing the necessity of CO₂ reduction policy of every country and high fuel efficiency automobile. The one way in the present is diesel fueled vehicle is applied to satisfy these requests. In case of diesel vehicles, there is a synergy more than 20% fuel efficiency compared with gasoline vehicles but particle material and nitrogen oxide emissions are remained to overcome.<br/> In this paper, diesel after-treatment and cooled EGR systems are evaluated and tested s that optimal technologies are developed for simultaneous PM/NOx reduction to meet the EURO-Ⅳ regulation. For the DePM, three different size hybrid DPF (DOC+catalyzed DPF) systems are used and for the DeNOx, cooled EGR (CEGR) system is used. At the results of evaluation and test on 3.3L EURO-Ⅱ diesel engine, the HDPF systems had 85-90% PM reduction rate ad CEGR systems are achieved to 30%-60% NOx reduction rate. <br/> From the results, if these technologies are applied to EURO-Ⅲ engine, the emission level will be estimated enough to satisfy the EURO- Ⅳ regulation.
