The most common for starting a single phase induction motor is to install a starting condenser and a centrifugal switch in series with the auxiliary winding. Though this method is simple, life of single phase induction motor is short because of malfunction of a starting condenser and a centrifugal switch and efficiency improvement has limitation. In this paper, the starting characteristics of SPIM is improved by sequence voltage control strategy of auxiliary winding in removing a starting condenser and a centrifugal switch. Finally, the excellent starting performance of SPIM is shown through simulation and experimental results.

In the present study, two prediction models for condensation heat transfer of R22, R410A and R407C inside a horizontal smooth tube are presented. One is for pure refrigerant or azeotropic mixtures, the other for nonazeotropic mixtures. The first model mainly focus on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the condensate liquid film. The second model considers both vapor and liquid phase mass transfer resistances as well as the interaction effect of mass transfer between components The prediction calculation was carried out for R22 and R410A by the first model, and for R407C by the second model. The local condensation heat transfer coefficients were obtained and analysed.
