To obtain the surface roughness with range from 10nm to lnm, we need a ultra-precision machine, cutting condition, and the study of materials. And we have to also consider the chip and vibration of diamond tool during processing. In this paper, the cutting conditions for getting mirror surface of aluminum alloy have been examined experimentally by using ultra-precision turning and single crystal diamond tool. In generally, the cutting conditions have effect on the surface roughness in ultra-precision turning. The result of surface roughness was measured by the ZYGO New View 200.

Sapphire have been ground by the ultra-precision surface grinder having a glass -ceramic spindle of extremely-low thermal expansion with various cup-type resinoid-bonded diamond wheels of #400-#3000 in grain size. Sapphire can be ground in the ductile mode. And also, the surface roughness and grinding conditions has been clarified. The smooth surface of Sapphire less than 1 nm RMS, 1nm Ra can be obtained by the ultra-precision grinding without any polishing process.

In this paper present a new technique (strain-telemetering) for detection of coated tool failure in face milling processes. In the cutter body, the strain signals received from the transmitter is transformed into frequency modulation (FM) signals in face milling processes. A receiver which is placed near by the Vertical milling machine receives the FM signals, then the signals will be sent to a computer, which determines whether the tool is failure. And machined surface of workpiece is detected by the SEM. In this paper, A on-line monitoring of the tool failure detection system based of the strain-telemetering apparatus has been represented.

Rapid prototyping technologies have been widely used to reduce the development cost of new products. Manufacturing industries are nowadays characterized by the flexibility and complexity of products. This to due to the rapid development of manufacturing technology and diverse needs of customers. In this paper, the best burning out and casting condition for getting casting product of resin pattern(photopolymer) have been examined experimentally. In generally, the burning out and casting conditions have effect on the casting products. Using the direct casting. we directly producted the jewelry. And in this paper, we used only gypsum. Many study of casting for resin have been used to dental investment. A dental investment is good for resin casting. but dental investment is too hard and not useful on the jewelry casting. Therefore we need to find the way of resin casting by gypsum.

Recentiry, High accuracy and precision are required in various industrial field. To obtain the surface roughness with range from several 10㎚ to several ㎚ in inner cutting, we need a ultra-precision machine, single diamond tool, cutting condition, and the study of materials. It is very difficult to obtain the mirror surface without new technique. In this paper, Using the new tool holder as well as the ultra precision diamond cutting, we directly processed the inside of an aluminum alloy in order to obtain mirror surface. We have considered the length of tool holder when we design the tool holder. From experimental results, we believe that the new tool holder will improve inner cutting.

Nickel-based heat resisting alloys are commonly used for high temperature applications such as in aircraft engines and gas turbines. In this paper, the machinability of Nickel-based heat resisting alloy was investigated with respect to the wear and the chip formation by tool type and cutting condition. Relationship between three types of tool and chip formation Bras experimentally investigated. Among the three types of tool tested, coated tools(CVD, PVD) are available for the difficult-to-cut-materials such as Nickel-based heat resisting alloy and etc.

In this paper, we will present the Aspheric Surface Program for optical element. X-ray optical element designed to give a high resolution and reflectivity in order to observe the living cell in the range of the water window. According to optical design, we developed the Aspheric Surface Program using the visual basic. Using the Aspheric Surface Program, we directly machined the electroless nickel bulk.

In this paper, the optimal cutting conditions for gem mirror surface of aluminum alloy have been examined experimentally by using ultra-precision tuning machine and single crystal diamond tool. In generally, the cutting conditions such as feed rate and depth of cut, have effect on the surface roughness in ultra-precision tuning. The result of surface roughness was measured by the ZYGO New Mew 200. Therefore, The surface roughness and cutting conditions has been clarified. The smooth surface of aluminum alloy less than lnm RMS, lnm Rmax can be obtained by the ultra-precision cutting.
