중국의 첫 목사 양발(梁發)과 그의 그리스도교 전교 문헌

이 연구는 중국의 첫 목사 양발의 생애와 사역 중 그의 전교 문헌의 의의에 대해 다룬다. 연구 목적은 다음 질문을 탐구하는 것이다. 양발은 어떻게 그리스도교에 접하게 되었을까 그가 동료중국인들을 위해 전도용 서적을 집필한 이유는 무엇일까 무엇이 그를 영향력 있는 사역자로 만들었을까 이전까지 제대로 고찰하지 못하였던 런던선교회의 1차 사료를 중점적으로 탐구하면서 이 질문에 답하는 방법으로 연구하였다. 그 결과 양발의 생애와 사역의 유산은 그가 개종시킨 중국인 그리스도인의 숫자로 평가할 수 없고, 그가 살았던 시대의 맥락에서 살펴보아야 하며, 그렇게 할 때 그가 영향을 끼친 홍수전과 태평천국운동을 제대로 이해할 수 있다는 것이다. 초기 중국 그리스도교 역사에 있어서 동료 중국인들에게 다가가기 위해서 전도용 서적을 집필하고 제작하여 배포한 양발의 생애와 사역은 앞으로도 더 다양한 연구가 필요하다 하겠다. The Pinyin system of transliteration has been used in this paper with the exception of a few names, such as Canton and Hong Kong, which are most familiar in English. How did Liang Fa, China’s first Preacher, make contact with Christianity Why did he write so many Christian tracts for Chinese What made him one of the early, influential Chinese Christians This study focused on Liang Fa’s life and work in order to answer to these questions through studying the primary sources in the London Missionary Society Archives. As a result, he could not be measured in terms of the numbers of new Christians with whom he worked. His life and ministry has to be seen in the context of the times in which he lived. By looking at these, we shall better appreciate certain aspects of the Taiping Movement. Hong Xiuquan received the new ideas of Christianity from Liang and his Quanshi liangyan . However, he tried not only to combine Chinese culture with Christianity, but also to believe in Christianity as far as he could understand it.
