Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) monitoring tool has been used to detect illicit drugs and environmental contaminants in wastewater samples collected from the influent of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). The WBE can provide spatial and temporal information about the community footprint in the living area. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) become pandemic in 2019, many countries have employed the WBE monitoring tool enabling early-detection or monitoring of the infected cases (symptomatic and non-symptomatic) in the community without disturbance of individual privacy. However, various COVID-19 detection methods applied in studies made difficulties in method standardization. Besides, the extraction efficiency is depending on the virus properties and the water types. Therefore, evaluation of developed detection methods and data quality analysis should be required. We evaluated and optimized COVID-19 detection methods in the real wastewater influent and sludge samples. To detect COVID-19, four different extraction methods, absorption-elution ultrafiltration, ultracentrifugation, centrifugation/ultrafiltration, and PEG precipitation, have been compared. The viral RNA was extracted using a QIAamp® viral RNA mini kit (Qiagen, USA), and the COVID-19 was detected using a GoTaq® probe 1-step RT-qPCR (Promega, USA) with two COVID-19 nucleocapsid-specific primers, N1 and N2. The viral community in the samples was analyzed through a NGS-based metagenomic sequencing. This study would help to make a guideline of the COVID-19 detection standard method and to develop quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) protocol.

Passive millimeter-wave imaging is based on a radiometer system which measures the target brightness temperature. The imager has the capability of high target recognition under conditions of low visibility because of its high penetration compared with IR and vision sensor. However, it is difficult to get images proper to recognize targets indoor due to low temperature contrast caused by the absence of sky. In order to solve the problem, the multi-polarized imaging method using 94- GHz passive imaging system is suggested. The experiment results show that the scheme provides the image quality enhancement by 24% better than raw images.

This study is analyzed a operation principal of dry-type clutch for development of prediction model of clamp and release operation point. And it is studied factors of dry-type clutch operation point decision, and travel characteristic of operation point with considering the wear. Then, the characteristic change of clamp load-travel and release load-travel are considered. Also, it is developed the performance prediction model of an assembly clutch is equipped with diaphram spring, cushion spring, and so on. The change factor of pressure plate contact point for improvement of clutch control performance of AMT is studied. Finally, it is studied decision process of actuator"s operation force and travel of release system in AMT.

When front wheels of 4WD vehicle are stuck in a hole, the engine power is not transferred to rear wheels because of the slip phenomenon between a cam and apply plate. Front and rear axles of the coupling can not be connected each other if 4WD vehicle is in harsh condition. In the case of this condition, a lot of heat loss is generated in both clutches in the coupling, so we need to figure out how much heat loss would be generated from clutches of the coupling for safety of drivers. In this paper, dynamic model of the coupling is dealt with in detail for figuring out heat loss quantity. This model contains loads, mechanical factors such as any shaft, ball, rollers, a solenoid, primary and secondary clutch to calculate how much heat generated. It is based on Matlab & Simulink program to simulate the operation of whole parts of the coupling.

Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) is the key for secure and convenient hands-free access control. The RFID system provides this with its long read range (up to 5 meters), UHF passive tags and high-security transmission protocol. The operating frequency and low output power allows for installations worldwide the meeting the regulation standard for site licensing in each country. Examples of installations include both commercial and corporate parking areas, gated communities, ports, airports, industries, universities etc. RFID technology also provides products and solutions that bridge the gap between personal access and automatic vehicle access. RFID products are used in proprietary systems, standard access control systems as well as in major parking equipment systems.
