Vol.0 No.45

Yi Hyunggi projected his Buddhist view of the world in his sensitive poetic language since 1950s in line with Cho Byunghwa, Yi Wonsup, Yi Seolju, Kim, Gwansik, Cheon Sangbyung, Jang Ho, Park Jaesam and Go Eun. He also sought a diverse poetic transformation through his eccentric poetic concept, poetic emotion and expanded visibility. Among these, a thought of transmigration, together with the Uroboros thought, played an important role in constructing his poetic formation and foundation, and poetic transformation. Such a foundation could be established because of his long lasting relationship with Buddhism from his youth. He exerted his insight through his reading on Buddhist writings, poetic comments, and his novel ``Buddha.`` However, he did not stop simply revealing the reality of existence and contradiction on top of the absolute emptiness, but went beyond it by maximizing poetically for continual expansion. It could be facilitated by the conflict between the poet`s life to endure the most turbulent times in the modem Korean history, and his activity to counter the current environment ceaselessly. In this sense, ``Nakhwa``(Falling flowers) has a big significance. ``Nakhwa`` is interpreted with the overthrown of the dictatorship, but it also indicated the transmigration thought as shown in the verse ``how beautiful of a man`s appearance from behind/ who clearly knows where he goes / and when he goes.` Thus, he chose death as the finale(終). It is naturally recognized by the Buddhist enlightenment that ``beginning from death and finishing with death.`` This is totally different from those of Han Yongwoon and Cho Jihoon. Cho Jihoon is especially comparable as he also had the poem with the same title. While Cho Jihoon`s ``Nakhwa`` expresses the melancholy of life from the contemplative attitude, Yi Hyunggi`s ``Nakhwa`` intends a strong sense of reversion through the transmigration by adapting the transmigration of ``death-farewell-reunion`` with Bansanghapdo(反常合道) and Hapdobansok(合道反俗). Such transmigration thought is based on the progressive thought linking ``conformity to nature - destruction and dissolution - transcendence and creation.`` It is contrasted with reverse-progressive thought in transmigration like ``death-absence-despair-end``. With these in mind, the poem implicates the willingness of conquest and transcendence. Although the poem has a great sense of transmigration generally, it is not sensed easily. This clearly reflects wide scope of his poetic world

Vol.0 No.42

People thus believed that endless repetition, namely, eternal repetition exists therein. It was recognized as a continuous tangling of creation and fading, continuity and discontinuity, and existence and non-existence in the fulfillment of the desperate and absolute preposition of"beginning is the end,"and essentially emptiness. This is because, in Yi Hyeong-gi`s poems, emptiness, serving as the framework of thought, is of great help in understanding the Ouroboros. The Ouroboros serves as double mechanisms in Yi Hyeong-gi`s poems. It functions as the two axes of the surface and the inner side, and penetrates nearly a half of the whole poems or exists in a single poem. The surface mechanism function can be possible when the true poet attitude is maintained through the ironical remarks of linking to eternity through endless confirmation of defeat. On the other hand, the inner function externally aims for fading and perishing, negation and despair, destruction and tremble, and crisis and dismantling of civilizations, and yet internally pledges to achieve creation and sublimation, affirmativeness and wind, overcoming and healing, and nature and bondage. This outwardly allows extreme emptiness to serve as its central element, and yet internally hides its strong will to transcend it. Hence, the Ouroboros poetics of Yi Hyeong-gi links himself to the reality of stimulating his will and language, and yet serves as another axis. His contribution to will is directly linked to his vision or ability of writing and leads himself to a firm revolutionist. In that sense, his contribution to language also continues to serve to stimulate the infiniteness of poem and poesie and helps mass-produce liberated poetic words. Thus, the Ouroboros, together with Buddhist thoughts such as transmigration, forms the frame of poetic transformation of Yi Hyeong-gi, as well as secures the foundations as the embodiment of thoughts. Furthermore, Yi Hyeong-gi was a poet who evoked his strong will to expect changes as desperate despair emptiness accumulated and thus attempted to vent unconditional despair and strong desire for revival. Thus, the more he outwardly colludes with the devil or decadence, he cannot inwardly avoid his strong will to overcome this. As he repeated defeat and challenge, he did not forsake the nature of devil, and also, he cooperated with the devil and yet proposed equal conditions. The Myth of Sisyphus is mentioned in connection with him, because such a road is never a smooth one. The Ouroboros poetics shown across the poems of Yi Hyeong-gi also serve as two functions. One is a paradoxical will to eschatology, and this is revealed through the poetic circulation ring where the will to overcome and transcend the end, amid the existence of th Ouroboros of prosperity and emptiness that repeats original emptiness and original nil. This is because it is not unrelated to the thought of"nothing existed"he early cherished. The other is the manifestation of negation and dismantling, and overcoming and win-win. His will to transcend and create as emptiness and despair grow deeper is yet another reality of his strong cohesion. In other words, the Ouroboros poetics that involves the harmony with nature and far-sighted view-destruction and dismantling-transcending and creation embraces the context penetrating the whole of his poetry.

Exploration of the application possibility of curriculum with mathematical modeling through coding activities

Vol.25 No.2

In this paper, we propose a direction of teaching method for future generations. In order to suggest such the direction, teaching and learning materials that integrate coding activities and mathematical modeling were developed through top-down and bottom-up processes. Coding and engineering experts and mathematics education experts developed teaching and learning materials through councils (top-down courses) and applied them to 24 high school first graders based on student responses (bottom-up courses). Additionally, the developed curriculum helped students increase interest and motivation and realize conceptual understanding, problem posing, and problem solving in mathematics. On the basis of these results, it provided an idea about how to develop curriculum combining mathematical modeling with coding activities, needed for the fourth industrial revolution.

A Vol.24 No.12

The remaining life estimation for the aged components in power plants as well as chemical plants are very important beacuse mechanical properties of the components are degraded with time of service exposure in high temperature. Since it is difficult to take specimens from the operating components to evaluate mechanical properties of components nondestructive techniques are needed to estimate the degradation. In this study, test materials with 4 different degradation levels were prepared by isothermal aging heat treatment at 630$\^{C}$. And the DC potential drop method and destructive methods such as tensile, K(sub)IC and hardness tests were used in order to evaluate the degradation of 1-Cr-1Mo-0.25V steels. The objective of this study is to investigate the possibility of the application of DCPD method to estimated the material degradation, and to analyse the relationship between the electrical relationship between the electrical resistivity and the degree material degradation.
