게임에서 흔히 사용하는 전신형 가상 캐릭터를 이용한 감정 표현은 주로 몸동작을 이용한다. 이때 가상 캐릭터가 표현하는 모든 감정에 대하여 각기 다른 애니메이션을 만들어 주어야 한다. 이런 이유로 인간과 같이 감정의 강도에 따라 다른 크기의 동작을 표현하려면, 만들어야 할 애니메이션의 수가 기하급수적으로 늘어나게 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 가상 캐릭터가 감정 강도에 따라 다른 크기의 동작을 행할 수 있게 하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 감정 강도별로 캐릭터가 동작을 형성하기 위해 회전시키는 뼈대에 가중치를 주어 소극적인 표현 또는 과장된 표현이 가능하도록 하였다. 제안하는 방법을 검증하기 위해 실제 가상 캐릭터에 신체 가중치를 적용할 수 있는 EATool(Emotional Animation Tool)을 구현하였다. 구현된 환경을 통해 걷기 동작에 서로 다른 감정을 부여한 후, 각 감정의 강도에 따라 신체 가중치를 적용하였다. 실험 비교 결과 감정 강도에 따라 동일한 걷기 동작의 형태가 달라지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. Body motions are commonly used to express emotions in virtual characters based on body parts, which are frequently employed in games. For this purpose, it is necessary to create different types of animations corresponding to the emotions shown by virtual characters. Therefore, a large of number of animations should be created for different gestures depending on the level of human emotion. In this paper, we propose a method for displaying gestures with various degrees of complexity on the basis of the level of emotion in virtual characters. In particular, this method can be used to display passive and exaggerated expressions by adding weighted values to the frames that rotate the characters to make them show different gestures depending on the level of emotion. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we use the Emotional Animation Tool (EATool), with which body-weighted values can be applied to the actual or virtual characters. After assigning different emotions to walking motions in the newly developed environment, we apply different body-weighted values depending on the level of each emotion. The results of a comparative test reveal that a given type of walking motion differs with the level of emotion.

갈만 추출물의 미백 기능 및 안전성에 대한 임상적 유용성 평가

Melanin is major factor that determines skin color as well as one of the defense systems that prevent the UV-induced damage. White and clean skin is very important part of the satisfaction of appearance and life quality. The purpose of this clinical study was to investigate the anti-melanogenesis activity for whitening product containing aerial part of Puer-aria lobata extract (APPL) can be utilized based on the increase in demands for cosmetics, particularly natural products. A total of 23 subjects who visited Dermapro Skin Research Center were included in this study. Volunteers were irradiated at a test site with UVA+B to induce pigmentation then applied 3% APPL at the test site for 8 weeks. Changes in visual eval-uation on pigmentation, average melanin content were observed, and subjective skin lightness and color improvements were analyzed. In all parameters measured in this clinical study, APPL treated group showed significant improvement com-pared with the control group. After 4 weeks, subjects with 3% APPL treatment started to improve melanin content and visual evaluation on pigmentation and skin lightness. Skin colors have improved from 8 weeks of treatment with 3% APPL. The safety of product containing 3% APPL was also confirmed. Indexes of subjective irritation(itching, prickling, tickling, burning, stinging, stiffness, tightening etc.) and objective irritation(erythema, edema, scale, papule etc.) proved that there was no adverse reaction on skin upon treatment of products. Considering all the results obtained, 3% APPL product can be used as a safe and effective skin-whitening agent.

As the study about the non-animal tests came to be internationally active and the interest in the animal welfare gradually became increased, OECD TG (Test Guideline) 401 that has been used since 1987 was abolished in 2002. Because TG401 is acute oral toxicity method depending on survival and death of many animals, it was heavily criticized. Therefore, the three alternative methods were developed. OECD TG420 and TG423 determine the class of chemicals according to GHS (Globally Harmonized Classification System for Chemical Substances and Mixtures) classification and OECD TG425 suggests the predicted LD50 of chemicals using AOT425 program. In this study, 10 chemicals were selected. The internationally admitted TG420, TG423 and TG425 were introduced and established through the method that these chemicals were orally administrated to SD female rats and then, the results were observed. Each chemical belonged to already known GHS class in the study using TG420 and TG423 and predicted LD50 was same or higher in the study using TG425 compared to already known LD50 value. In conclusion, the result of our study confirmed the decrease in the animal number and validated. The international harmonization of the non-animal tests will be pursued through this validation study.
