SOA 기반 웹서비스의 Library 2.0 적용방안에 관한 연구

This study examined the main concepts of SOA and Web Services, and conducted technical analysis of major Web Services protocols such as SOAP, REST, SRW/U, and OAI-PMH that realize SOA, and suggested examples of SOAP and REST based Web Services establishments in foreign and domestic libraries respectively. In addition, it introduced application examples of Library 2.0 using Web 2.0 technology in foreign and domestic libraries and suggested how to apply SOA based Web Services protocol in Library 2.0. Finally, it proposed how to put Library 2.0 into practice applying meta-searching system integrating library OPAC, online bookstores, web portal sites and library union catalogs using REST based Open API. 본 연구에서는 SOA와 웹서비스의 개념을 살펴보았고, SOA를 구현하는 웹서비스의 주요 프로토콜인 SOAP, REST, SRW/U, OAI-PMH에 대한 기술을 분석하였으며, 국내외 도서관에서 SOAP과 REST 기반 웹서비스 구축사례를 각각 제시하였다. 또한 국내외 도서관에서 Web 2.0 기술을 활용한 Library 2.0 적용사례와 SOA 기반 웹서비스 프로토콜의 Library 2.0 적용방법을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 REST 기반 Open API를 이용하여 도서관 OPAC, 온라인서점, 웹 포털, 종합목록 등을 결합한 메타검색 시스템의 구축과 활용을 통한 Library 2.0 적용방안을 제안하였다.

Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템의 사용성 평가에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is aimed to clarify the usefulness of meta search system using Open API of library online catalog by constructing OPAC-based search system using Open API of library online catalog and meta search system using Open API of library online catalog, and comparing the usability of the two experimental search systems. As for usability, on the whole, it was higher in meta search system using Open API of library online catalog than OPAC-based search system using Open API of library online catalog, and there was statistically significant difference. Therefore, if libraries share and use enriched content which is provided through Open API for book search, which is opened by Internet bookstores, search engines and Web portals, it is expected that it will be helpful in enhancing bibliographic data, expanding subject access point, empowering subject search ability, extending meta search service, improving book availability, and reducing catalog cost. 본 연구는 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템과 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템을 구축하고 두 실험시스템의 사용성을 비교 평가하여 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템의 유용성을 밝히고자 하였다. 사용성은 전체적으로 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템 보다 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템이 더 높게 나타났고, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 국내 도서관들이 인터넷서점, 검색엔진, 웹포털 등에서 공개한 도서검색용 Open API를 통해 제공되는 풍부한 콘텐트를 온라인목록에서 공유하고 활용하면 서지데이터의 확충, 주제접근과 주제검색 능력의 확대, 메타 검색서비스의 확장, 소장도서의 이용가능성 증대, 목록비용의 절감 등에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

차세대 OPAC의 인터페이스와 기능에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to provide an actual basic data and helps for arranging the next generation OPAC's interface and function through improving the existing OPAC's interface and improvement in the domestic library. In this study, factors to be importantly considered for improving the OPAC's interface and function were examined based on the preceding studies on OPAC concept & development process, user's library use style, user use style of OPAC, and recognition on library's crisis, and actual condition investigation result. Also, the case analysis on the existing OPAC's interface and function was focused on the search window, search item, search method, alignment function, search result display and search result feedback. Also, the search interface and search function of the next generation OPAC which is provided by the recently-developed domestic and foreign library utilization, and the detailed case were analyzed in the aspect of Library 2.0 service. Finally, the measures for improving the existing OPAC's interface and function in domestic library were suggested.

Open API를 이용한 서지레코드와 목록 확장에 관한 연구

In this study, the present condition of 8 Open APIs for books, such as Naver, Daum, Aladdin, Amazon, Google, KERIS, LibraryThing, and OCLC, were compared and analyzed. In addition, the bibliographic records of 167 samples of visible ‘light & paraphotic’ (DDC 535) classifications were selected from the bibliographic records of the library of C university, and the effectiveness of the Open APIs were compared and analyzed. On the basis of the results of this analysis, 12 Open API application models, which were judged to be useful in expanding the function of the access point of the bibliographic records and enhancing the library catalog using Open API, were experimentally implemented. Various methods of augmenting access points of biblio- graphic records and expanded library catalogue were investigated using the unique identifier described in the KORMARC fields of 001, 010, 012, 020, 035, 246, 505, 520, 850, 856 for the integrated format for bibliographic data, and Open API. Finally, using Open API for the brief display and detailed display screen as a result of search of the OPAC of the sample bibliographic records, the devices for the expanding library catalog were implemented as examples. 본 연구에서는 네이버, 다음, 알라딘, Amazon, Google, KERIS, LibraryThing, OCLC 등 8개의 도서용 Open API 현황을 비교 분석하였다. 그리고 C대학교 도서관의 서지레코드에서 ‘광학’(DDC 535) 분류 167건의 표본 서지레코드를 선정하여 Open API의 활용성을 비교 분석하였다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 Open API를 이용한 서지레코드의 접근점 기능 확대와 목록 확장에 유용하다고 판단되는 12개의 Open API 적용 모형을 실험적으로 구현하였다. 또 통합서지용 KORMARC의 001, 010, 012, 020, 035, 246, 505, 520, 850, 856 필드들을 대상으로 Open API를 이용하여 서지레코드의 접근점 기능 확대와 목록 확장방안들을 고찰하였 다. 마지막으로 표본 서지레코드의 OPAC 검색결과 간략화면과 상세화면을 대상으로 Open API를 이용하여 목록 확장방안들을 예시로 구현하였다.

Open API 기반 OPAC 2.0 서비스 구현 및 유용성에 관한 연구

21세기 지식사회에서 도서관은 향후 새로운 웹 관련 신기술을 활용함으로써 OPAC의 재설계 및 기능적인 성능개선 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 Web 2.0. Library 2.0 및 OPAC 2.0에 관한 정의 및 개념, 관련 웹 기술, 그리고 국내외 웹 포털 및 도서관 적용사례를 조사 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 본 연구에서는 OPAC 검색결과 및 검색서비스의 향상을 위한 차세대 OPAC 2.0 서비스에 적용할 수 있는 하나의 방법으로써 Open API 및 RSS 리더를 구현하고 구체적인 활용방안을 제시하였다. In the 21st knowledge society, libraries should consider OPAC redesign and functional performance improvement by using new web related technology. This paper studied and analyzed case studies of Web 2.0. Library 2.0, domestic and international web portals and libraries. Based on the research, this study implemented Open API and RSS reader and proposes its utilization plan as a next generation OPAC 2.0 service model which can improve OPAC search results and search service.

대학도서관에서 업무지능과 대시보드의 활용방안에 관한 연구

업무지능(Business Intelligence)은 이해관계자들이 경영 의사결정을 내리는데 활용되고 있다. 대시보드(Dashboard)는 데이터, 정보 또는 지식을 한 눈에 이해할 수 있도록 가시화해 줌으로써 업무지능을 지원해 주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 미국 ARL 소속 대학도서관의 웹사이트에서 도서관의 성과와 가치에 관한 정보공개 현황을 살펴보았다. 그리고 국외 대학도서관의 웹사이트에서 업무지능과 대시보드의 적용 사례를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 국내 대학도서관의 웹사이트에서 업무지능과 대시보드 정보시스템의 구축 및 활용을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 대학도서관이 웹사이트를 통해 이해관계자들에게 도서관의 성과와 가치를 효율적으로 전달하고 의사소통의 도구로서 업무지능과 대시보드를 활용하기 위한 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다. Business Intelligence(BI) is being used by the individuals who make decisions for management. Dashboard supports business intelligence by visualizing data, information, and knowledge so that they can be grasped at a glance. In this study, applications of dashboard were analyzed in the ARL libraries websites. Furthermore, the study suggested methods to establish and use the information system of the business intelligence and dashboard on the academic library websites in Korea. The findings of this study are expected to serve as the basic data to utilize the business intelligence and dashboard as a tool with which Korean academic libraries can demonstrate their value to the stakeholders in the academic community.

북마크릿을 활용한 LibraryLookup 서비스 제공방안에 관한 연구

도서관 이용자에게 장애가 없는 정보서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 OPAC의 접근성, 사용성 및 검색성을 향상시키고, 도서의 검색, 식별 및 브라우징의 도구로써 ISBN의 활용가치를 높이는 것이 필요하다. 북마크릿은 웹브라우저의 ‘즐겨찾기에 추가’ 또는 ‘툴바’에 드래그하여 저장할 수 있는 작은 크기의 자바스크립트이다. 그리고 오픈소스인 북마크릿은 웹페이지에서 ISBN을 추출한 다음, 해당 ISBN으로 도서관의 OPAC에서 도서를 검색할 수 있는 간단하지만 강력한 검색도구이다. 해외의 도서관 시스템 벤더, 도서관, OCLC 등은 이용자가 온라인서점의 웹페이지를 살펴보면서 동시에 도서관의 소장 및 대출 정보를 실시간으로 검색할 수 있는 북마크릿을 제공하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 해외에서 개발되어 활용되고 있는 네 가지 유형의 북마크릿에 대한 적용사례 분석을 통해 북마크릿의 특징과 장단점을 정리하였다. 이를 통해서 북마크릿의 기본요건과 적용모델을 도출하고, 국내 도서관의 OPAC과 온라인서점에서 북마크릿을 활용한 Library Lookup 서비스 제공방안을 제안하였다. It is required to enhance the value of ISBN as a tool for book search, identification, and browsing, and improve the accessability and search capability of library OPAC. Bookmarklet is a small size javascript which can be saved as URL in a web browser bookmark or web page hyperlink. Open source bookmarklet can extract ISBN from web pages and search a book from library OPAC using the ISBN, so it is recognized as a simple but powerful search tool. In foreign countries, commercial library system vendors, libraries, OCLC, etc. are providing bookmarklets which allow a user to search for library holdings and loan information in a real time while he/she is travelling in an online bookshop web page. Therefore, this paper compared and analyzed international bookmarklets application examples and proposed LibraryLookup service in which library OPAC and online bookshop can make use of the bookmarklets.

학교도서관 정보공시 실태 분석에 관한 연구

본 연구는 초․중등학교의 학교도서관 관련 학교정보공시 실태를 분석하고 문제점을 파악하여 개선방안을 제안하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 미국의 학교성과보고서에서 도서관/미디어센터에 대한 정보공개 사례를 살펴보았고 우리나라의 학교정보공시제도 의미와 내용을 정리하였다. 그리고 학교도서관 관련 13개 공시범위를 대상으로 정보공시 실태와 문제점을 파악하고 비교를 통해 개선점을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 교육주체들에게 학교정보공시를 통해 학교도서관 현황과 가치를 종합적으로 이해하기 쉽게 알리는 데는 공시양식 및 지침서와 학교알리미 서비스 수준이 미흡한 것으로 분석되었다. 이를 토대로, 학교도서관의 공시내용 추가, 공시정보의 가독성 및 활용성, 이용자 편리성, 공시업무 효율성 등에 초점을 두고 몇 가지의 개선방안을 제안하였다. This study was conducted to propose the improvements by analyzing the actual state of Education Information Disclosure related to the school libraries of elementary and middle schools and by grasping its problems. In order to do that, we examined the Education Information Disclosure standards in school libraries in Korea. The actual state of information disclosure on 13 items related to school libraries was analyzed, using S High School in Seoul as a case study. In addition, in understanding the values of school libraries easily and informing them exactly through Education Information Disclosure, it was judged that the forms and guides for disclosure and the level of school introduction services were somewhat insufficient. On the basis of that, some improvements were proposed, which could help to make the operation and management of Education Information Disclosure in school libraries more efficient.
