The main point of the Oedipus Rex is, as I see it, to make clear the limit of the human knowledge. The importance of this point comes from the fact that the 5th century BCE was a kind of enlightenment age. Oedipus, as the representative of the Zeitgeist, measures everything: times, places, and peoples. Then by scrutinizing the informations collected he makes sure the truth, and declares his knowledge. But it is not the end; the problem is not solved completely. The oracle given to Oedipus is not the same as one given to Laius. The oracle to Oedipus is made of two parts: One about the parricide, the other about the marriage with his own mother. But Laius`s has only the first half. So there is no one but Oedipus, who knows the second part of the oracle. But at the end of the tragedy the only fact ascertained without doubt is the incestuous marriage: the question whether Oedipus is the murderer of Laius is forgotten in the shock of the revealed identity of the hero. Having found the second part fulfilled, he jumps to the conclusion that the first half is realized too, without further thought. There are two disagreement in this tragedy: One between singular and plural, the other between being and non-being. They say the murderers of Laius were many thieves, but Oedipus is only one man. So if he should be the true murderer, then one and many come to be the same. And Oedipus remembers that he left none of his enemies alive, but they say there is one survivor of the disaster of Laius. So if he should be found as the murderer, then being and non-being come to be the same. Therefore Oedipus` conclusion is destructive to the foundation of his own measurement. Oedipus reveals another disagreement with his own being. He belongs to three generations: as the spouse of his mother, as the brother of his children, and as himself. This confusion is not without significance: the generation was used as the unit of time measuring, for example, in Herodotus. Sophocles discloses the failure of the human intelligence of the first enlightenment age, not only by the false reasoning of, but by the very being of Oedipus, the man knowing by feet.

In the Iliad the anger of Achilles has double causes. On the one hand it arises primarily from losing deserved honor, but more basically from the disagreement between his competency and his social status. This aspect of anger is appeased gradually, Achilles being affected by the speeches of supplicants. By letting his `alter ego` enter the battle and finally by taking part in it himself the hero shows the restoration of friendship with the other Greeks. In the funeral games Achilles raises no question of superiority any more, but rather presents himself as an exemplary ideal king. On the other hand the anger of Achilles came from his refusal of mortality. It is the death of his closest friend Patroclus that urges him to accept the fate. Thereafter the battle of Achilles looks like a suicidal process. But keeping at his side the corpse of his friend and later that of his enemy, Achilles is revealed not yet ready to admit the mortality. He comes to accept it after the visiting of Patroclus`s ghost, then the advice of mother-goddess Thetis, and the encounter with king Priam. This acceptance means his moving the world of mother to that of father. In the end he has got the solidarity with all the human being and wins a new kind of glory.

Microbial-fermented tea (MFT) was prepared with A. niger (MFTAN) and its chemical characteristics were investigated during 30℃ at RH 80% for 35 days. Total chlorophyll and phenolic content of the MFTAN and the control, naturally microbial-fermented tea decreased during fermentation, but total nitrogen content was not influenced by culture. The Organic acids content of both teas were not significantly different. Caffeine content in the teas increased until 20 days during fermentation period and then decreased. It was also had same tendency in the change of total catechin content. The result showed that it is possible to manufacture the microbial-fermented tea with A. niger.

This study is welded SS400 automatically and is investigated some effects of the welding residual stress in the growth and propagation of fatigue crack, so as to study the fatigue behaviour in the welding residual stress field . The Summarized results are as follows; 1) In case of the load range is constant, as the stress ratio is changing to 0.1 , 0.33 , 0.5 the propagation life is constant but the growth life decreases. And than, when maximum load or minimum load is constant, as the stress ratio increases the growth life and propagation life increase. 2) The fatigue crack propagations rate da/dN appears to accelerate when the stress intensity factor range ΔK is less than 15MPa-m1/2. 3) The Opening ratio U is influenced by Kmax but the opening ratio U isn t only the function of Kmax because data superposition is very large. 4) The growing and propagation fatigue crack in the welding residual stress field is similar to original specimen after being passed the original residual stress field.

The casting defects that are caused by molten metal were cold shut formation, entrapment of air, gas, and inclusion. But the control of casting defects has been based on the experience of the foundry engineers.In this thesis, the computer simulation analyzed the flow of molten metal. The quantitative analyses which proposed the effective mold design was executed Flow patterns of 0.15-0.16m/s molten metal in 15mm thin plate casting were investigated in order to optimize die-casting process. As increasing ingate velocity in thin plate casting, cold shot was decreased. The parameters of runner shape that affected on the optimized conditions that was calculated with simple equation were investigated. These die casting process control techniques of automobile valve body mid-plate have achieved good agreement with the experimental data of tensile strength, hardness test, and material structure photographies satisfactory results.
