Development of groundwater supplies is accomplished mainly through wells. Many factors are involved in the performance of these collection works, and a thorough knowledge of groundwater flow mechanics and regional geology is essential. Some groundwater flow problems can be solved by applying relatively simple mathematical tools, other problem require more rigorous analysis. Graphical studies and model analysis are also widely employed. In this paper, we study the groundwater level. pumping capacity and the influence circle accompanying pumping groundwater from the aspect of hydraulies etc., as a study of allowable limit in the ground water development in order to discuss that we are able to use the ground water to the full extent. By this study, we analyze that there are some very interesting relation between them. The result obtained would contribute much to the pumping capacity of the groundwater etc., that the hydraulic characters in the groundwater are discussed.
계획강우량 설정을 위한 강원권 확률 강우 강도식 유도에 관한 연구

It is an important condition to calculate an exact rainfall in water resource design and various hydraulic structures design. In accordance, it is a very significant plan to propose new rainfall intensity formula of corresponding districts by using recent rainfall data, and apply them to practical water resource plan and design. The existing rainfall intensity formulas have been formed by the studies limited to the whole part or partial sections of particular district. Therefore, this study's target is main regional analysis on KANG WON zone. The most proper probability distribution is decided through Parametric estimation and examination of goodness of fit test. Corresponding districts are 7 places (Wonju, Hongcheon, Chuncheon,. Injae, Sokcho, Kangleung, Daekwanryeong) that have over 25 years' observation maintenance among 11 meteorological observatories inside KANG WON zone. The frequency analysis was conducted toward yearly maximum rainfall data by continual period of time (continuation time 10 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours). As for probability distribution, 8 kinds of probability distribution were applied; Normal, Lognormal - 2, Lognormal - 3, Gamma, Pearson Type Ⅲ, Log-pearson Type Ⅲ, Extremal Type Ⅰ, Extremal Type Ⅲ. As for Parametric estimation in each probability distribution, Method of Moments, Method of Maximum Likelihood, and Probability Weighted Moments were used. In order to examine goodness of fit test, reliability is established by Chi-square and Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test. Through all of these process, probable rainfall was independently calculated by main places inside KANG WON zone, probable rainfall intensity formula was derived, furthermore, maximum rainfall deviation was confirmed by frequency and continuation time based on topographic. characters of Taebaek-mountains through comparative analysis on probable rainfall in Yongdong and Yongseo zones.

Water quality of river is greatly influenced by sediments of planktons, suspended solids and organic matters being transported by efflenced. The water quality is also affected by their release at the place of sediments with slow flow of water. This paper deals with the Characteristics of Oxygen consumption of sediments in small river which is greatly vary with time. Some typical samples of sediment were taken from both aerobic and anaerobic condition reserved for several months. and, the samples of sediment were checked on the relative ratio of oxygen consumption by nitrification.

This thesis is the study of rainfall-Depth probability for short-duration(10min) at Seoul. The frequency distribution of the rainfall variates were tested by the Chi-square method within the acceptance region(having the significance level=5%), The poisson's distribution type were determined, and the research results are discussed.
