교육이론과 실천 : 활동 중심 연수를 통한 영어교사 연수 사례 -영어 동영상 제작 활동을 중심으로-

This study developed elementary and secondary English teachers` in-service training programs to improve proficiency in English communication by implementing discussion-based training program and activity-focused English Short Movie Making program, and it introduced examples of implementation. Target group was 26 English teachers who participated in English teachers` training program performed by Kyungsangnamdo Gimhae Office of Education. The training period was for 30 hours over 5 days during summer vacation in 2013. The method of training was to design and execute integrated-type program including English training program and UCC Making program. The results of the training programs are as follows: First, the participating English teachers greatly preferred activity-based program to general type of program with native English speakers. Second, this activity-based program enhanced the English teachers` voluntary participation more, and the teachers showed more active participation due to their individually assigned role. Third, the English teachers have set a high value on building confidence to design English teaching materials directly that are naturally applied into classroom setting by utilizing the learning experience of English and a movie making program.

The purpose of this study is to develop a model of an ideal co-teaching dynamic in a middle school English classroom and to examine the effectiveness. 73 Korean English Teachers (KTs) and 73 Native English Teachers (NTs), all of whom took part in a co-teaching dynamic in a korean middle-school, were given an 80 item questionnaire. Based on the literature review and results from the 80 item survey, a co-teaching model for KTs and NTs was developed. To examine the effectiveness of this newly constructed model, it was tested in 15 middle school classes for a period 4 weeks. The results showed that 15 KTs and 15 NTs who used the model were highly satisfied with their co-teaching classes and that the developed working model was effective for middle school English co-teaching classes.
