        Taxonomic Status of Xylodon in Korea and Proposal of Korean Names

        Following the taxonomic reassignment of Schizopora and some Hyphodontia species into Xylodon, we confirmed nine Korean species of Xylodon in a previous study. In the present study, we propose Korean names for these Xylodon species according to the Principles of the Mycological Terminology Review Committee of The Korean Society of Mycology.

        Awareness and Resolution of Touristification in Korea Using Social Media Big Data Analytics

        Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the resolution of touristification and the SNS user’s perception of the phenomenon through analysis of social big data. Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected from a ‘café’ and a blog on social media platforms (Naver, Daum) that were collected as analysis channels. It was analyzed using social network analysis and semantic network analysis. Findings: Sixty of the 986 entries were selected using the keyword ‘touristification’ for social media big data research. First, various keywords recognized by tourists, such as ‘tourist destination’, ‘citizen’, ‘gentrification’, ‘phenomenon’, ‘Bukchon’, were extracted. Second, convergence of iteration correlation (CONCOR) analysis distinguished five groups. Research limitations/implications: The study assessed the implications of touristification’s resolution. This study used social big data before Covid-19, and there was a limit to sample collection. Originality/value: Existing studies related to touristification were conducted mainly on qualitative and empirical research, but this study expanded the research methodology to big data research that combines social network analysis and semantic network analysis.

        A Theoretical Analysis on Leaders’ Gapj il: Its Antecedents, Processes, and Consequences

        Gapjil is one of the social phenomena that has been increasingly revealed in Korea nowadays. As the society is becoming more prone to revealing and publicizing unfair and untransparent incidents, people have been able to witness various Gapjil cases through news media and social networking service and could express their rage towards them. Although the prevalence of Gapjil has been raised as a serious social problem, understanding the nature of Gapjil and a fundamental movement to eradication of Gapjil have not been carried out yet for some reason (Lee, 2016). Perhaps, despite the negative effects, people naturally accept it as a cultural and social phenomenon which inevitably occurs or is deeply rooted in our hierarchical society. The cost of Gapjil is large across the country that organizational members seriously suffer from decreased mental health (Lee, 2016) which can be escalated to career dissatisfaction, burnout, and turnover intention which in turn would result in decreased organizational effectiveness and performance. As Gapjil is increasingly being discussed as a social problem, the antecedents, processes, and negative consequences are a concern to researchers and practitioners. In this study, we point out that leaders’ Gapjil results from social psychological and cultural factors including unstable self-concept, obsession with social success and Korean culture specific attitudes. In addition, we clarify that Gapjil behavior differs from other forms of workplace aggression behavior at the conceptual level. Aggressive behavior is any behavior an individual commits with an intent to harm another person or group of individuals in the workplace. The key to aggression is an intent to inflict harm on another, Without such an intent, it is not an aggressive behavior. Compared with aggression, the goal of gapjil is not to inflict harm on others, but to maintain or enhance Gap’s leadership status in implicit or explicit status competition. We delineate Gapjil into two distinct forms of mistreatment behaviors occurring in status competition: social undermining and abusive supervision behaviors. There can be different types of Gapjil behaviors but we focus on the major aspects of improper aspects that would appear in a real work situation. Park’s (2016) research brought a similar result that Gapjil can be categorized as threatening communication by leaders, hindering followers’ social relations and reputation, attacks on members’ career and quality of life, health, gender, and etc. Taken together, Gapjil is not just an intended behavior of a leader to undermine lower-level employees but it is also about dragging down others’ social position to maintain vested interests. To be specific, social undermining is one type of workplace aggression that involves behavior intended to hinder one’s establishment and maintenance of positive interpersonal relationships, work-related successes, and favorable reputations (Duffy, Ganster, Pagon, 2002). Individuals with low power are more vulnerable to workplace abuse or harassment in which they can be harshly treated if they raise opposing ideas (Cortina, Magley, Williams, & Langhout, 2001). Conversely, leaders with high social power can possibly hinder others’ social related success when they perceive their work position is threatened by potential competitors or opponents. Also, abusive supervision can be the other factor of Gapjil that refers to the ‘sustained display of hostile verbal and non-verbal behaviors, excluding physical contact” (Tepper, 2000: p. 178). This factor conceptually differs from social undermining in that it focuses on the aspects of leaders’ inconsiderate behaviors towards their follower such as verbal or non-verbal insults.       • Aligned Brain Extracellular Matrix Promotes Differentiation and Myelination of Human-Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Oligodendrocytes

        <P>Myelination by oligodendrocytes (OLs) is a key developmental milestone in terms of the functions of the central nervous system (CNS). Demyelination caused by defects in OLs is a hallmark of several CNS disorders. Although a potential therapeutic strategy involves treatment with the myelin-forming cells, there is no readily available source of these cells. OLs can be differentiated from pluripotent stem cells; however, there is a lack of efficient culture systems that generate functional OLs. Here, we demonstrate biomimetic approaches to promote OL differentiation from human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and to enhance the maturation and myelination capabilities of iPSC-derived OL (iPSC-OL). Functionalization of culture substrates using the brain extracellular matrix (BEM) derived from decellularized human brain tissue enhanced the differentiation of iPSCs into myelin-expressing OLs. Co-culture of iPSC-OL with induced neuronal (iN) cells on BEM substrates, which closely mimics the in vivo brain microenvironment for myelinated neurons, not only enhanced myelination of iPSC-OL but also improved electrophysiological function of iN cells. BEM-functionalized aligned electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds further promoted the maturation of iPSC-OLs, enhanced the production of myelin sheath-like structures by the iPSC-OL, and enhanced the neurogenesis of iN cells. Thus, the biomimetic strategy presented here can generate functional OLs from stem cells and facilitate myelination by providing brain-specific biochemical, biophysical, and structural signals. Our system comprising stem cells and brain tissue from human sources could help in the establishment of human demyelination disease models and the development of regenerative cell therapy for myelin disorders.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

      • 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 한글 교육 프로그램 개발

        본 연구는 인공지능(AI)를 초등학교 저학년 한글 교육에 활용하고자 개발된 프로그램이다. 초등학교 저학년 학생이지만 간단하게 직접 코딩을 하여 인공지능을 만들 수 있는 경험을 하도록 개발하였다. 이러한 경험을 통해 학생들의 자존감을 향상시키고, 인공지능을 더 쉽게 이해하고 인식할 수 있을 것이다. 나아가 학생들이 코딩한 프로그램을 한글 교육에 활용하여 학생들이 스스로 한글 공부를 할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 프로그램을 개발하였다. This study was developed to use artificial intelligence (AI) for lower grade korean language education in elementary schools. Although he is an elementary school lower grade student, he developed the experience to create artificial intelligence by simply coding himself. This experience will improve students" self-esteem and make it easier to understand and recognize artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the program was developed to allow students to study korean language on their own by using coded programs for korean languege education

        음향학적 분석을 통한 노년층 연령에 따른 조음교대운동의 속도 및 규칙성

        Aging is related to anatomical and physiological changes in respiratory and phonation organs. These changes influence articulation which leads to inaccurate speech and slow articulatory diadochokinesis(DDK). DDK indicates the range, rate, regularity, accuracy, and agility of articulation that reflect motor speech function. The purpose of this study is to investigate the rates and regularities of DDK in healthy Korean elderly through passive acoustic analysis (Praat). Thirty subjects between the ages of 65 and 94 participated in this study. Rate was observed for 5 seconds, while regularity was calculated based on the standard deviation on the following: 1) syllable duration of each task; 2) gap duration between syllables. Then, simple regression analysis was conducted in order to examine the effect of age on performance. The result showed that the slow rate was not a significant factor in terms of advancing age. Furthermore, regularity indicated a significant difference in the following: 1) /p?/, /k?/ and /p?t?k?/ in syllable duration; 2) /k?/ duration in the gap between syllables. In conclusion, articulatory coordination is reduced with the onset of aging. In particular, /k?/ would be a sensitive task for articulatory coordination.

        조직 공정성이 직무열의에 어떻게 영향을 미칠 것인가?

        본 연구는 분배공정성과 절차공정성이 직무열의에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 것인가에 대해 초점을 맞추고 있다. 구성원들이 공정한 절차에 의거해 공정한 분배를 받고 있다고 인식은 직무자원으로써의 역할을 수행할 수 있으며, 이러한 직무자원은 직무열의를 향상시키는 원인으로 작용될 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 분배공정성과 절차 공정성에 대한 인식이 직무열의에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상하였다. 또한, 이러한 관계들에서 팀 리더의 코칭이 조절변수로써의 역할을 수행할 것으로 예상하였 다. 즉, 공정한 절차에 의거해 공정한 보상이 이루어지고 있는 상황에서 팀 리더의 코칭을 통해 구성원 자신들의 성과를 높일 수 있는 기회를 얻게 된다면 직무열의를 더욱 향상될 수 있을 것으로 예측하였다. 데이터는 국내기업에 종사하는 346명이 설문을 통해 얻어졌으며, 분석은 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 이루어졌다. 분석결과, 분배공정 성과 절차공정성은 직무열의에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 팀 리더의 코칭은 분배공정성과 직무열의 간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타난 반면, 절차 공정성과 직무열의 간의 관계에서 팀 리더의 코칭은 아무런 역할을 수행하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. This study focuses on the roles of distributive and procedural justice on job engagement. Additionally, the study examines whether a situational factor namely, team leadersʼ coaching moderates the relationships between distributive and procedural justice and job engagement. Ordinary linear regression was used to analyze data from seven South Korean Companies(total N=346). Results confirmed the hypothesized model indicating that both distributive and procedural justice were positively related to job engagement of members. Additionally, team leaders ʻcoaching moderated the relationship between distributive justice and job engagement whereas it brought non-significant effect to procedural justice. The result that two types of justice and the interactive effect of team leadersʼ coaching were different implies that different managerial strategies should be used when job engagement was to be enhanced.

        본 연구는 엔트리 인공지능 블록을 활용하여 농산촌 초등학교 저학년 학생들의 한글 교육에 활용하고자 개발한 프로그램을 적용한 결과이다. 코로나로 인한 팬데믹 상황의 장기화로 농산촌 초등학교 저학년 학생은 가정에서의 교육 부재, 디지털 교육의 부재로 학습의 결손이 생기고 교육 격차가 심해졌다. 이에 학생들이 직접 만들어 볼 수 있는 쉽고 재미있는 엔트리 인공지능 블록을 활용하여 학생들의 한글해득 능력 향상에 도움을 주고자 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 프로그램 적용 결과 한글 교육에 유의미한 효과가 있었으며, 학생들의 자존감도 향상되었다.
