Serum lipocalin-2 is a potential biomarker for the clinical diagnosis of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis

        ( Gang Xu ),( Yu-min Wang ),( Miao-miao Ying ),( Sui-dan Chen ),( Zong-rui Li ),( Hong-lei Ma ),( Ming-hua Zheng ),( Jian Wu ),( Chunming Ding ) 대한간학회 2021 Clinical and Molecular Hepatology(대한간학회지) Vol.27 No.2

Background/Aims: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a progressive form of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) characterized by hepatic steatosis, inflammation, hepatocellular injury, and fibrosis. We aimed to investigate the usefulness of a key biomarker, lipocalin-2 (LCN2), for the detection of NASH progression. Methods: A mouse NASH model was established using a high-fat diet and a high-sugar drinking water. Gene expression profile of the NASH model was analyzed using RNA sequencing. Moreover, 360 NAFLD patients (steatosis, 83; NASH, 277), 40 healthy individuals, and 87 patients with alcoholic fatty liver disease were recruited. Results: Inflammatory infiltration, focal necrosis in the leaflets, steatosis, and fibrosis were documented in the mouse liver. In total, 504 genes were differentially expressed in the livers of NASH mice, and showed significant functional enrichment in the inflammation-related category. Upregulated liver LCN2 was found to be significantly interactive with various interleukins and toll-like receptors. Serum LCN2 levels were significantly increased in NAFLD patients. Serum LCN2 levels were correlated with steatosis, intralobular inflammation, semiquantitative fibrosis score, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease activity score. The area under the curve of serum LCN2 was 0.987 with a specificity of 100% and a sensitivity of 93.5% for NASH diagnosis, and 0.977 with almost the same specificity and sensitivity for steatosis. Conclusions: LCN2 might be involved in the transition from NAFL to NASH by mediating inflammation. Serum LCN2 levels might be a novel biomarker for the diagnosis of NASH. Theoretical Calculation of the Optical Properties of Gold Nanoparticles

Gang Yin,Songyou Wang,Liangyao Chen,Ming Xu 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.5I

The properties of metal nanoparticles have received considerable attention due to their wide range of applications extending from surface-sensitive spectroscopic analysis to catalysis and microwave polarizers. Various methods for synthesizing these nanoparticles, both spheres and rods, have been described. In this paper, the simulated optical properties of Au nanoparticles are presented. The extinction e±ciencies are calculated using the discrete dipole approximation (DDA). The in°uence of the nanoparticle size and shape on the plasmon resonance bands is investigated. For spherical particles with R · 10 nm, the intensity of extinction increases with increasing radius, but the position of maximum in the spectrum, which is associated with plasmon resonance, does not change. For particles with 10 < R · 50 nm, the extinction spectrum also increases with increasing radius, and the plasmon resonance shifts to red. For particles with R > 50 nm, the extinction spectrum decreases with increasing radius and becomes irregular. For spheroidal and rod-like nanoparticle, there are two peaks in the extinction spectra corresponding to the transverse and the longitudinal resonances. With increasing aspect ratio, the extinction spectral peak of the transverse mode shifts to shorter wavelength while that of the longitudinal mode shifts to longer wavelength. Our theoretical results explain the experimental data well.淺

A Novel Method for Survivability Test Based on End Nodes in Large Scale Network

( Ming Liang ),( Zhao Gang ),( Wang Dongxia ),( Huang Minhuan ),( Li Xiang ),( Miao Qing ),( Xu Fei ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.2

Survivability is a necessary property of network system in disturbed environment. Recovery ability is a key actor of survivability. This paper concludes network survivability into a novel composite metric, i.e. Network Recovery Degree (NRD). In order to measure this metric in quantity, a concept of Source-Destination Pair (SD Pair), is created to abstract end-to-end activity based on end nodes in network, and the quality of SD Pair is also used to describe network performance, such as connectivity, quality of service, link degree, and so on. After that, a Survivability Test method in large scale Network based on SD pairs, called STNSD, is provided. How to select SD Pairs effectively in large scale network is also provided. We set up simulation environment to validate the test method in a severe destroy scenario and evaluate the method scalability in different large scale network scenarios. Experiment and analysis shows that the metric NRD correctly reflects the effort of different survivability strategy, and the proposed test method STNSD has good scalability and can be used to test and evaluate quantitative survivability in large scale network.

Suppression of MED19 expression by shRNA induces inhibition of cell proliferation and tumorigenesis in human prostate cancer cells

( Xin Gang Cui ),( Dan Feng Xu ),( Chao Lv ),( Fa Jun Qu ),( Jin He ),( Ming Chen ),( Yu Shan Liu ),( Yi Gao ),( Jian Ping Che ),( Ya Cheng Yao ),( Hong Yu Yu ) 생화학분자생물학회(구 한국생화학분자생물학회) 2011 BMB Reports Vol.44 No.8

MED19 is a member of the Mediator that plays a key role in the activation and repression of signal transduction or the regulation of transcription in carcinomas. To tested the functional role of MED19 in human prostate cancer, we downregulated MED19 expression in prostate cancer cells (PC-3 and DU145) by lentivirus- mediated short hairpin (shRNA), and analyzed the effect of inhibition of MED19 on prostate cancer cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. The in vitro prostate cancer cell proliferation, colony formation, and in vivo tumor growth in nude mice xenografts was significantly reduced after the downregulation of MED19. Knock- down of MED19 caused S-phase arrest and induced apoptosis via modulation of Bid and Caspase 7. It was suggested that MED19 serves as a novel proliferation regulator that promotes growth of prostate cancer cells. [BMB reports 2011; 44(8): 547-552]

Chen-Gang,Li-Tong,Chu-Ming,Jia-Qing Xuan,Sun-Han Xu 한국정밀공학회 2014 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.

Robot kinematics calibration is of great significance for improving robot absolute pose accuracy, which can be divided into modelbasedand non-parametric kinematics calibration. For model-based kinematics calibration, kinematics calibration modeling, posemeasurement of end-effector, kinematics parameters calibration and error compensation are systematically analyzed. And with theincreasing demand for autonomy, the autonomous kinematics calibration is introduced. On the other hand, research status of nonparametrickinematics calibration is elaborated, the advantages and disadvantage of which are discussed respectively. On the basis, comprehensive and organized description and summarization of the three kinds of calibrations are given. Overall, aiming at robotkinematics calibration, existing achievements are summarized, a typical calibration process is carried out and calibration precautionsare detailed, then calibration results of various methods are compared and analyzed. Finally, existing problems in kinematicscalibration are analyzed and development prospects are presented.

      • Recursive Chaotic Desynchronized Fingerprint for Large Scale Distribution Using Social Network Analysis

        Cong-huan Ye,Zeng-gang Xiong,Yao-Ming Ding,Xueming Zhang,Guangwei Wang,Fang Xu 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.11 No.7

Average collusion attack is a very effective attack for digital fingerprinting system. Moreover, the commercial value of the colluded content is often time-sensitive. The more profit the colluder will make from it when the colluded copy is distributed earlier. This paper presents a new collusion-resilience approach with recursive chaotic desynchronization and social network. It has processed chaotic transformations due to random image grid based on chaos. The experimental results show that collusion even with only two copies results in degradation of the image metric, even if those traitors try to resynchronization using image registration technology. However, it will take expensive computational cost to do that, and the visual quality is degraded expensively with the increase of the number of fingerprinted copies.

ORiginal Article : N-Acetylcysteine Improves Pancreatic Microcirculation and Alleviates the Severity of Acute Necrotizing Pancreatitis

( Bing Qing Du ),( Yue Ming Yang ),( Yong Hua Chen ),( Xu Bao Liu ),( Gang Mai ) The Editorial Office of Gut and Liver 2013 Gut and Liver Vol.7 No.3

Background/Aims: To investigate the beneficial effect of N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) on pancreatic microvascular perfusion in acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP). Methods: Fifty-four rats were divided into a control group, an ANP group and an NAC-treated group. The ANP model was established by a retrograde injection of 3% sodium taurocholate into the pancreatic duct. The NAC-treated group received an intravenous infusion of NAC just 2 hours before and 30 minutes after the induction of ANP. The pancreatic microvascular perfusion was measured with laser Doppler flowmetry and pancreatic samples were collected for histological examination. Results: The microvascular perfusion in the NAC-treated group decreased slightly and exhibited a significant increase compared to the ANP group (p<0.01). A pathological examination revealed that edema and inflammatory infiltration decreased, and the hemorrhaging and necrosis of the pancreas were significantly reduced. Conclusions: NAC could improve pancreatic microvascular perfusion and alleviate the severity of sodium taurocholate-induced ANP, possibly representing a new therapeutic approach to prevent the progression of ANP. • A Secure Fingerprinted Multimedia Distribution Using Social Network Analysis

        Cong-huan Ye,Zeng-gang Xiong,Yao-ming Ding,Xueming Zhang,Guangwei Wang,Fang Xu 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.4

Collusion attack is a very effective attack for digital fingerprinting system. In order to remove or attenuate the fingerprint information hidden in fingerprinted content, a number of users produce a new colluded copy through their own fingerprinted copies. In this paper, we address a novel collusion-resisting desynchronization fingerprinting approach using social network analysis. The novelty of this paper is that collusion attack occurred in a multimedia social network community with high probability. Different from all existing works, with desynchronization model constructed upon social network, the original image is desynchronized to get many similar copies which are different from each other, and then they are assigned and distributed to subscribers according to social network analysis. Theory analysis shows that the presented desynchronization distribution method has significantly better performance than those existing distribution schemes. The experimental results also show that the average colluded images even with only two desynchronized copies have poor visual quality. And the visual quality of colluded images does not improve apparently with the increase of the number of copies.

Electronic and Optical Properties of Noble Metal Oxides M2O (M = Cu, Ag and Au): First-principles Study

        Fei Pei,Song Wu,Gang Wang,Ming Xu,Liang-Yao Chen,Yu Jia,Song-You Wang 한국물리학회 2009 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.55 No.3

In this work, first-principles calculations for the structural, electronic, and optical properties of noble metal oxides M2O (M = Cu, Ag, Au) with the cuprite structure are performed by using a plane wave pseudopotential method in the framework of density functional theory (DFT) and the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). The structural, electronic, and optical properties are investigated and discussed. For Cu2O and Ag2O, good agreement was achieved between calculated and experimental results. Within the same framework, Au2O is predicted to be a semiconductor. In comparison with the copper and the silver oxides, the gold oxide has less ionic bonding between Au and O, and the intra-atomic hybridization is expected to be more evident as the depletion of the Au 5d shell appears to be more profound than it is for the Cu 3d and the Ag 4d shells. Case Report : Coexistence of Pancreatic Carcinoma and Pancreatic Tuberculosis: Case Report

( Zhen Jiang Zheng ),( Hao Zhang ),( Guang Ming Xiang ),( Jun Gong ),( Gang Mai ),( Xu Bao Liu ) 대한간학회 2011 Gut and Liver Vol.5 No.4

Pancreatic tuberculosis (TB) is extremely rare and mimics pancreatic carcinoma both clinically and radiologically. This paper discusses the occurrence of 2 heterogeneous masses located in the head and tail of the pancreas in an adult male. In this patient, laparotomy was performed because of the high suspicion of pancreatic carcinoma. Intraoperative fine needle aspiration biopsy revealed the coexistence of pancreatic carcinoma with pancreatic TB, and a combined resection of the distal pancreas and spleen was successfully performed. Following surgery, the patient received standard chemotherapy for TB. At 7-month follow-up, computed tomography showed resolution of the mass in the pancreatic head. Clinicians must maintain a high index of suspicion for pancreatic TB in patients with pancreatic masses. The coexistence of malignancy and TB should be considered when patients present with multiple pancreatic masses. (Gut Liver 2011;5:536-538)
