        스마트폰 데이터베이스 환경에서 암호화된 데이터에 대한 효율적인 키워드검색 기법

        많은 사람들이 일상생활뿐만 아니라 다양한 업무에서 스마트폰을 활용하고 있다. 이에 따라 스마트폰에는 사용자의 개인정보 및 업무상의 민감한 정보가 저장된다. 그러나 스마트폰은 다양한 데이터 및 개인 정보를 데이터베이스에 평문형태로 저장하고 있어 악성 앱이나 단말기 분실, 데이터 복원 등을 통하여 데이터베이스에 저장된 데이터 및 개인정보가 외부로 노출되고 2차 공격에 사용될 수 있다. 이러한 사용자의 정보유출 피해를 차단하기 위해서는 데이터베이스 암호화 기술이 필요하지만, 데이터베이스를 암호화하는 경우 성능저하를 야기 시킨다. 대표적인 예로, 암호화된 상태에서 특정 키워드를 통해 데이터를 검색하는 경우 모든 데이터를 복호화하거나 인덱스 정보 없이 순차적인 검색을 해야 하는 오버헤드가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 데이터베이스가 암호화된 상태에서, 데이터를 검색할 때 발생하는 오버헤드를 최소화하기 위한 검색 가능한 암호 기법을 제안한다. 특히, 스마트폰과 같이 자원이 제한된 환경에서 사용되는 로컬 데이터베이스에 대해, 가변길이 블룸 필터를 사용하는 암호화된 데이터상에서의 효율적인 키워드 검색 기법을 제안하고 기존의 대칭키 방식의 검색 가능한 암호 기법들과 비교 분석한다. 그리고 안드로이드 스마트폰에서 제안하는 기법을 구현하여 제안 기법의 적절성과 성능을 검증한다. 구현을 통한 실험 결과, 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법이 암호화된 상태에서의 단순 검색에 비해 약 50% 이상의 검색 속도 향상 및 기존 고정 길이 블룸필터에 비해 동일한 긍정오류율 상에서 약 70% 이상의 공간을 절약할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. We are using our smartphone for our business as well as ours lives. Thus, user’s privacy data and a company secret are stored at smartphone. By the way, the saved data on smartphone database can be exposed to a malicous attacker when a malicous app is installed in the smartphone or a user lose his/her smartphone because all data are stored as form of plaintext in the database. To prevent this disclosure of personal information, we need a database encryption method. However, if a database is encrypted, it causes of declining the performance. For example, when we search specific data in condition with encrypted database, we should decrypt all data stored in the database or search sequentially the data we want with accompanying overhead. In this paper, we propose an efficient and searchable encryption method using variable length bloom filter under limited resource circumstances(e.g., a smartphone). We compare with existing searchable symmetric encryption. Also, we implemented the proposed method in android smartphone and evaluated the performance the proposed method. As a result through the implementation, We can confirm that our method has over a 50% improvement in the search speed compared to the simple search method about encrypted database and has over a 70% space saving compared to the method of fixed length bloom filter with the same false positive rate.

      • Cryptography Based Dynamic Multi-Keyword Ranked Search Using ECC/B+TRE

        Today, Cloud computing is becoming a household technology. In cloud, a shared pool of computing resources can be accessed on demand through internet and web applications. Since outsourced data is in third party premises i.e. cloud, accountability of user data is paramount. To preserve privacy and security of user data in cloud, many cryptographic techniques have been proposed by many scientists. One among them is searchable encryption. Searchable encryption allows secure search over encrypted data. In our system, a noble approach has been made using the Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), a cryptographic techniques to reduce the overall computation overhead. Dynamic B+ tree data structure is used to perform multi-keyword search over the encrypted data. To retrieve appropriate data files, ranking will be done based on relevance score. Finally, we compare the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed scheme with our previous work on CRSA/B+ tree through extensive experimental evaluation using Microsoft azure platform.

        EEIRI: Efficient Encrypted Image Retrieval in IoT-Cloud

        One of the best means to safeguard the confidentiality, security, and privacy of an image within the IoT-Cloud is through encryption. However, looking through encrypted data is a difficult process. Several techniques for searching encrypted data have been devised, but certain security solutions may not be used in IoT-Cloud because such solutions are not lightweight. We propose a lightweight scheme that can perform a content-based search of encrypted images, namely EEIRI. In this scheme, the images are represented using local features. We develop and validate a secure scheme for measuring the Euclidean distance between two descriptor sets. To improve the search efficiency, we employ the k-means clustering technique to construct a searchable tree-based index. Our index construction process ensures the privacy of the stored data and search requests. When compared with more familiar techniques of searching images over plaintexts, EEIRI is considered to be more efficient, demonstrating a higher search cost of 7% and a decrease in search accuracy of 1.7%. Numerous empirical investigations are carried out in relation to real image collections so as to evidence our work.

        Analysis of Data Encryption Mechanisms for Searchable Encryption

        클라우드 컴퓨팅의 보급으로 최근 데이터 아웃소싱에 대한 요구가 매우 높아지고 있다. 하지만 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 근본적인 걱정인 외부 서버 신뢰 문제에 대한 만족할만한 수준의 해결책이 아직 제시되고 있지 못하다. 이 때문에 검색가능 암호화에 대한 연구가 최근에 다시 활발해지고 있다. 하지만 검색 기능에 대한 연구에만 집중되어 중요한 요소 중 하나인 데이터 암호메커니즘에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 소홀히 되고 있다. 적절한 암호메커니즘의 적용 없이는 검색가능 암호화를 실제 서버에 적용하는 것이 불가능하다. 이 논문에서는 다중 사용자가 이용하는 검색가능 암호시스템에서 지금까지 제안된 데이터 암호메커니즘과 사용 가능한 메커니즘들을 분석하여 그들의 장단점을 논한다. 분석 결과 논문에서 고려한 브로드캐스트 암호 기법, 속성기반 암호 기법, 프록시 재암호화 기법은 모두 적절한 해결책이 되지 못한다. 현존하는 기법들의 가장 큰 문제는 별도의 완전히 신뢰할 수 있는 서버가 필요하다는 것과 외부 사용자와 완전히 신뢰하지 못하는 서버 간 공모 공격을 방지할 수 없다는 것이다. Recently, the need for outsourcing sensitive data has grown due to the wide spreading of cost-effective and flexible cloud service. However, there is a fundamental concern in using such service since users have to trust external servers. Therefore, searchable encryption can be a very valuable tool to meet the security requirements of data outsourcing. However, most of work on searchable encryption focus only on privacy preserving search function and relatively lacks research on encryption mechanism used to actually encrypt data. Without a suitable latter mechanism, searchable encryption cannot be deployed in real world cloud services. In this paper, we analyze previously used and possible data encryption mechanisms for multi-user searchable encryption system and discuss their pros and cons. Our results show that readily available tools such as broadcast encryption, attribute-based encryption, and proxy re-encryption do not provide suitable solutions. The main problem with existing tools is that they may require separate fully trusted servers and the difficulty in preventing collusion attacks between outsiders and semi-trusted servers.

        Symmetric Searchable Encryption with Efficient Conjunctive Keyword Search

        Searchable encryption is a cryptographic protocol for searching a document in encrypted databases. A simple searchable encryption protocol, which is capable of using only one keyword at one time, is very limited and cannot satisfy demands of various applications. Thus, designing a searchable encryption with useful additional functions, for example, conjunctive keyword search, is one of the most important goals. There have been many attempts to construct a searchable encryption with conjunctive keyword search. However, most of the previously proposed protocols are based on public-key cryptosystems which require a large amount of computational cost. Moreover, the amount of computation in search procedure depends on the number of documents stored in the database. These previously proposed protocols are not suitable for extremely large data sets. In this paper, we propose a new searchable encryption protocol with a conjunctive keyword search based on a linked tree structure instead of public-key based techniques. The protocol requires a remarkably small computational cost, particularly when applied to extremely large databases. Actually, the amount of computation in search procedure depends on the number of documents matched to the query, instead of the size of the entire database.

        서버에서 효율적인 메모리 사용량을 제공하는 공개키 기반 검색 암호 시스템

        검색 가능 암호 시스템 (Searchable Encryption)은 암호화된 데이터에서 키워드를 검색하는 문제를 해결하기 위하여 2000년에 Song 등에 의해서 처음으로 제안되었다. 지금까지 대칭키 암호화 방식과 공개키 암호화 방식에 기반하는 여러가지 검색 가능 암호 시스템이 제안되었으나, 공개키 암호화 방식에 기반한 기존의 기법들은 암호화 된 문서의 검색을 위해 서버에서 저장해야 하는 인덱스들의 크기가 키워드 개수에 비례하여 선형적으로 증가하는 단점을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 공개키 기반 검색 가능 암호 시스템에서 서버에서 저장하는 인덱스의 길이를 줄이기 위해 Bloom Filter를 적용하는 방법을 제안하고, Boneh 등이 제안한 PEKS(Public key Encryption with Keyword Search)에 제안한 방법을 적용하여, 메모리 측면에서 그 효율성을 분석한다. In 2000, Song. et. al. firstly proposed the Searchable Keyword Encryption System that treated a problem to search keywords on encrypted data. Since then, various Searchable Keyword Encryption Systems based on symmetric and asymmetric methods have been proposed. However, the Searchable Keyword Encryption Systems based on public key system has a problem that the index size for searching keywords on encrypted data increases linearly according to the number of keyword. In this paper, we propose the method that reduces the index size of Searchable Keyword Encryption based on public key system using Bloom Filter, apply the proposed method to PEKS(Public key Encryption with Keyword Search) that was proposed by Boneh. et. al., and analyze efficiency for the aspect of storage.

        A Secure Index Management Scheme for Providing Data Sharing in Cloud Storage

        Cloud storage is provided as a service in order to keep pace with the increasing use of digital information. It can be used to store data via networks and various devices and is easy to access. Unlike existing removable storage, many users can use cloud storage because it has no storage capacity limit and does not require a storage medium. Cloud storage reliability has become a topic of importance, as many users employ it for saving great volumes of data. For protection against unethical administrators and attackers, a variety of cryptography systems, such as searchable encryption and proxy re-encryption, are being applied to cloud storage systems. However, the existing searchable encryption technology is inconvenient to use in a cloud storage environment where users upload their data. This is because this data is shared with others, as necessary, and the users with whom the data is shared change frequently. In this paper, we propose a searchable re-encryption scheme in which a user can safely share data with others by generating a searchable encryption index and then re-encrypt it.

      • Generic construction of designated tester public-key encryption with keyword search

        <P>This paper provides two generic transformations to construct a designated tester public-key encryption with keyword search scheme using two identity-based encryption schemes. We also identify the properties of identity-based encryption that are sufficient to provide the confidentiality and consistency in designated tester public-key encryption with keyword search. The anonymity and confidentiality of identity-based encryption are sufficient for achieving confidentiality of designated tester public-key encryption with keyword search, and the confidentiality of identity-based encryption is sufficient for achieving consistency of designated tester public-key encryption with keyword search. Our constructions do not need any global set-up for the public parameters. We further extend our generic method to construct designated tester identity-based encryption with keyword search, where encryption is performed under the identity of a recipient instead of a public key.         소수테이블을 이용한 실용적인 다중 키워드 검색가능 암호시스템

        검색가능 암호시스템(searchable encryption system)은 암호화된 자료의 기밀성이 보장된 상태로 원하는 자료의 검색을 가능하게 해주는 기술이다. 클라우드 서비스의 대중화로 데이터 아웃소싱에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 외부 서버의 신뢰 문제를 해결하는 방법으로 최근에 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 검색가능 암호시스템에 대한 연구는 하나의 키워드를 이용한 부울 검색만 제안되었고, 다중 키워드 검색에 대한 연구결과는 상대적으로 적을 뿐만 아니라 이 연구들은 대부분 고정 필드 환경을 가정하는 제한적 기법들이다. 이 논문에서는 고정 필드를 사용하지 않으며, 랭킹 정보까지 제공할 수 있는 새로운 다중 키워드 검색가능 암호시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 키워드와 소수를 매핑한 소수테이블과 검색 연산으로 최대공약수 연산을 사용하기 때문에 기존 시스템보다 상대적으로 효율적이며, 복잡한 암호모듈이 필요 없어 비교적 쉽게 구현이 가능하다. Searchable encryption systems provide search on encrypted data while preserving the privacy of the data and the search keywords used in queries. Recently, interest on data outsourcing has increased due to proliferation of cloud computing services. Many researches are on going to minimize the trust put on external servers and searchable encryption is one of them. However, most of previous searchable encryption schemes provide only a single keyword boolean search. Although, there have been proposals to provide conjunctive keyword search, most of these works use a fixed field which limit their application. In this paper, we propose a field-free conjunctive keyword searchable encryption that also provides rank information of search results. Our system uses prime tables and greatest common divisor operation, making our system very efficient. Moreover, our system is practical and can be implemented very easily since it does not require sophisticated cryptographic module.
