민요춤은 태생적으로 일반 서민들의 생활 속에서 발생한 춤이기에 일상의 희노애락을 담고 있으며 비정형화되고 즉흥적인 성격이 짙고 남녀노소 누구나 즐길 수 있는 자유롭고 흥겨운 춤이다. 이 같은 민요춤의 특성은 별다른 테크닉의 훈련이 필요하지 않기에 한국무용 전공자들에게는 춤이라기보다는 쉬운 몸짓 언어로 인식되고 있으며 춤의 한 영역으로서의 그 가치를 인정받지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 연구자는 민요춤에 대한 개괄적 개념 정립을 통해 무용영역으로의 민요춤의 가치와 무용인구의 감소와 같은 무용계의 당면 과제에 대한 하나의 해결 방안으로서의 가능성 탐색에 연구의 목적을 두고 있다. 민요춤은 향토 민속춤과 통속민요춤으로 나눌 수 있다. 향토민요춤이 지역성을 기반으로 한 지역민들의 독특한 움직임이라면 통속민요춤은 비정형성, 변화성, 즉흥성, 단순성, 반복성 등의 특성요소를 가지고 있다. 통속민요춤의 이 같은 특성요소들은 한국춤의 새로운 입문 과정의 모델로서의 가능성을 제시할 수 있다. 또 각 지역별 민요들이 가지는 지역적 음악 리듬의 구조와 강약 등을 분석하고 이를 단순하고 쉬운 움직임에 적용시킴으로 해서 단조로운 움직임 에 질적 변화를 줄 수 있는데, 이는 쉽고도 재미있는 새로운 한국춤 영역의 확대 가능성을 예측할 수 있다.이 같은 새로운 한국춤영역의 확대와 교육 컨텐츠로서의 활용 확대를 위해서는 지역적 특성이 강조된 민요의 리듬과 강약을 기준한 창작적 민요춤에 대한 적용 기준안의 마련 및 활용의 확대방안, 그리고 각 지역별 민요춤의 레파토리 확대 등이 선행되어야 할 것으로 보인다. Due to characteristics of Folk dance, which was informal and improvised nature, it could be enjoyed anyone of all genders and ages. Since folk dance had not demanding techniques or require of separate training courses, which made it movements to folk song rather than dance. Therefore folk dance had not even mentioned in the category of dance. However, researchers consider the unique characteristics of folk dance as alternatives to solve problems such as difficult situation of being employed for th majored, decreasing the number of dancer population with the prejudice that Korean dances are difficult for general people. Breaking the myth that Korean dances can be performed easily and facilitate access to learning it may be the first alternative to acquire of popularity for Korean dance. On the educational site, as new educational contents which could enhance understanding of and interest in Korean traditional dances, the potential of traditional dances are going to review. Folk songs were classified into ``local folk`` and ``folk ballad``, ``Local folk`` contains different customs and emotions from lives exposed in local people based on unique feature of the areas from their loves. Folkish functions of folk song was Harambee, Ceremony song, Play song. The arrangement and applications of applicable standards on creative folk song-dance based on folk song`s rhythm and intensity of which regional features, the expansion of regional folk song-dance repertoire were required to be studied along with plans to popularize Korean dance.

This study is comprehensive research on folk dance including the prevalent elements of local dance. Among dance fields, folk song dance was usually treated as a dance for amateurs and children. Probably most of the people who first encountering Korean dance will begin it by practicing folk song dance. In other words, folk dance is significant means of dance education in the field of social dance education. Yet, the dance industry does not recognize folk songs as dance. They think there is no aesthetic and artistic value of dance in folk song dance. However, folk dance is an important means of determining the identity of a region and a dance of value as an element creating a new dance. The folk song dance also contains the emotions of the local people, as it has been handed down for a long period. In this regard, folk song dance is a dance that expresses national and regional emotions and is very valuable. Despite the facts above, the scene of folk song dance is now disappearing. In this situation, the view of folk dance should now be changed in dance studies. It is already late, but we should have the right view of folk dance. 이 연구는 지역춤의 원형적인 요소를 지닌 민요춤에 대한 개괄적인 연구로서, 무용학에서 민요춤을 연구해야 하는 필요성에 대해 언급하였다. 현재까지 무용계에서 민요춤은 아마추어나 아동들이 추는 레크레이션 무용으로 생각하고 있다. 아마도 대부분 사람이 한국무용을 접할 때 제일 먼저 학습하는 것이 민요춤으로 엄밀한 의미에서 통속민요를 바탕으로 한 민요춤이다. 이 통속민요춤은 사회무용 교육현장에서 중요한 무용교육 수단으로 활용하고 있다. 무용학에서 민요춤은 여가를 즐기는 몸짓이지, 예술성 혹은 미적 가치를 지닌 춤으로 보지 않는다. 그러나 민요춤은 지역민, 일반사람들의 몸짓언어로서 지역의 고유한 문화가 소멸되어가고, 지역 춤이 정체성을 잃어가는 현황에서 전승․보존해야하는 중요한 춤이다. 민요춤은 지역의 정체성을 드러내는 몸짓으로 지역의 정체성을 드러내는 중요한 자원이기 때문이다. 그래서 민요춤은 지역춤의 정체성을 드러내는 준거 틀이 되는 춤이며, 새로운 춤을 창작하는 원소스로서의 다양한 콘텐츠를 산출하는 근간이 되는 춤이다. 민요춤에는 지역의 정서가 내재되어 지역에서 습합된 춤으로 지역정서, 민족적 정서가 내재되어 있다. 이런 점에서 민요춤이 지니는 가치가 매우 크다. 그러나 무용학에는 민요춤을 보는 시각이 아직도 비전문가의 춤, 입문 춤으로 밖에 인식하지 않는다. 이런 현황에서 민요춤을 바라보는 시각이 변화되어야 하며 늦었지만, 민요춤에 대한 다른 시각을 지녀야 한다고 생각한다.

삼재사상으로 본 향토민요춤 특성연구-용전들노래와 수영농청놀이를 중심으로-

본 연구는 삼재사상에 들어있는 한국사상의 근본을 먼저 살펴보고 이에 따라 향토민요춤의 특성를 파악하고자 한다. 이에 향토민요춤 중에서 농경 생활에서 비롯된 농사노동 민요춤인 남도 광주지역의 용전들노래와 부산지역의 수영농청놀이를 중심으로 전개하였다. 또한 인터뷰와 함께 문화층차분석법을 활용하여 이를 천지인 삼재사상으로 대입, 향토민요춤의 특성을 분석하였다. 삼재사상으로 본 향토민요춤에 깃든 특성 중 첫째 지역성의 측면은 용전들노래가 영산강 상류 드넓은 농사를 짓기 좋은 지역에서 행해졌으며, 수영농청놀이는 조선시대 수영지역에서 농부들이 농청을 조직하여 집단으로 농사짓던 곳으로 하늘과 땅, 인간 생명의 귀함이 농사의 결실로 나타난다는 것이다. 두 번째는 용전들노래와 수영농청놀이를 전승하고 보존하기 위해 마을마다 또 사람을 이어주는 네트워크의 연결로서, 두레와 향약의 아름다운 정신이 드러나는 사회적 특성이 있다. 마지막으로 용전들노래와 수영농청놀이의 연희과정은 자연발생적으로 천지인 삼재사상이 내재되어 민요, 민요춤, 소품이나 복식 등의 생활양식으로 공유·발현되었다. 이렇게 삼재사상으로 본 향토민요춤 즉 용전들노래와 수영농청놀이에 깃든 지역성, 사회성, 공유성의 특성연구가 민요춤 연구의 발아로서 초석을 다지는 계기가 되길 바란다. This research preferentially is trying to speculate about “Sam-Jae” thought containing the core elements of Korean philosophy and then figure out the characteristics of Korean local folk dance. Among Korean local folk dances, this research is especially focusing on the Yongjeondeul song which is an agricultural work song dance originated from the Gwangju area which is located in the southern region of Korean peninsula and Suyeongnongcheong play dance in Busan area which is also located in the southern region of Korean peninsula. This research is hoping that this study on characteristics of Korean local folk dance in the perspective of Sam-Jae thought, namely the study on the characteristics of locality, sociality, and commonality contained in Yongjeondeul song and Suyeongnongcheong play would be a cornerstone of study on Korean folk dance.
