Chua's oscillator is a simple electronic circuit which exhibits a variety of bifurcation phenomena and attractors. It consist of two capacitors, and inductor, two linear resistors, and a nonlinear resistor. When the circuit exhibits chaotic signals, the nonlinear resistor of Chua's oscillator may have six different voltage-current characteristics. In this paper, the design methodology for practical implementation of the nonlinear resistors which have all these characteristics is described. In addition, the effectiveness of result is shown by not only the computer simulation but also the experimental test.
OHV형 캠-밸브기구의 동적 모델링 및 엔진 성능 개선을 위한 캠형상 설계

In this work, a numerical and experimental study was done to get an optimum cam profile considering dynamic characteristics of a cam-valve system. First of all, a four d.o.f. dynamic model was set up for an OHV type cam-valve system. The optimum process was performed with the model into the direction of minimizing the valve acceleration while not modifying original cam shape greatly. Also another optimization which aims to enlarge the valve displacement area while reducing the peak valve acceleration, was tried. The optimization profile was tested experimentally and found that the measured valve displacement and pushrod force show only very small error from the analytically predicted model simulation results.
Avalanche 주입에 따른 질화산화막의 트랩특성에 관한 연구

The MIS(Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor) with the nitrided oxide and RTO annealed nitrided oxide are fabricated to investigate the carrier trapping due to avalanche electron injection. Two times turn-around phenomenon of the flatband voltage shift generated by the avalanche electron injection are observed. This shows that electron trapping occurs dominantly in the oxide at the first stage. As the cumulated electron injection increases, the first turn-around phenomena occurs due to a positive charge build-up in the oxide layer. After futher avalanche electron injection the flatband voltage curves turns around once again. This second turn-around phenomena is due to the electrons captured by an acceptor-like trap. A positive charge build-up in the oxide and interface trap density at the mid-gap increase for heavy nitridation(1100℃, 900sec) oxide comparing with lightly nitridation oxide(900℃, 90sec). Interface trap density is measured as 2.23 x 10¹³~ 5.01 x 10¹³[eV-¹cm-²]
퍼지-신경망 모델을 이용한 압연기 출측 장력 제어기 설계

The exit tension control of rolling mill using knowledge base table has a reliablity problem due to time delay and mechanical errors in the process. Thus the exit tension control is manually manipulated by an expert. But this method has a problem in production cost and production quality. This paper proposes a new method for the exit tension control of rolling mill using fuzzy-neuro model to solve this problem. Validity of the new method is asserted by numerical simulation.

The fatigue crack propagation tests of SB42 steel and WT60 steel were carried out in order to examine the characteristics of near-threshold and stable crack propagation behaviors by using CT specimens under stree ratios R=0.1, 0.4 and -1. In the near-theshold region, ?Kth decreases as the positive stress ratio increases. The ?Kth of R=-1 under compressive stress is less than that of R=0.1. The ?Kth of steels decreases as monotonic yield strength increases. In the stable crack propagation region, da / dN fits with one straight line satisfactorily although there is somewhat deviation if they are evaluated by prameters of ?Keff=?K-?Kth.
鑛物性 冷却油의 Coolingability에 관한 硏究

The laboratory quench method used in this study is based on plunging a silver cylinder heated to 800±1℃ into mineral base oils at given temperature. Experimental apparatus and measuring method followed the Korean Industrial Standard. Cooling curves at the boundary of the shape of cylinderical type measured by a silver-alumel thermocouple is recorded throughout the quenching period. Using the cooling curves, the collingability of the quenching oils at a various temperrature were compared and discussed.

Modeling made it possible to predict the behavior of constituents and microorganisms, and microorganisms, and the changes of process variables with respect to the bed height by assuming the sludge bed zone in UASB(upflow anaerobic sludge blanket) reactor to be a series of CFSTRs(continuous flow stirred tank reactors) of which the volume is proportioned to the gas quantity passing the segmented zone. Mathematical simulations were attemped to identify the balance and distribution of the two microbial populations, which were divided into two groups of acidogenic and methanogenic bacteria, as well as the responces of reactor to the operational conditions in terms of the bed height. Considering the constituents as complex substrates composed of hydrolyzed and nonhydrolyzed materials and VFAs(volatile fatty acids), prediction of the concentration of each constituent was allowed. This reserch indicated that the UASB reactor was relatively stable to shock loading and that the lower part placed below the height of 20%-30% of the sludge bed probably served as a shock absorbing zone. About 70% of organic COD was removed in the lower 55% portion of the sludge bed height.

The energy band structure of ternary compound semiconductor InAs1-xSbx is calculated by the empirical pseudopotential metod(EPM) with another virtual crystal approximation(VCA). The calculated results are consistent with experimental values, where the dependence of the direct band gap of the alloy InAs1-xSbx on X is Eg(X)=0.42-0.634X+0.464X².

The regular language is used as a basic tool in implementing programs such as text editors and the lexical analyzers found in most compilers. The regular languages are accepted by deterministic finite automata. Therefore, the problem of recognizing regular languages can be reduced to the one of recognizing finite automata. This paper presents an O(1) time algorithm for recognizing finite automata on a reconfigurable mesh of size [㎚/2]×2m when the length of an input string is n and the number of states is m.
