      • Roles of Immunohistochemical Staining in Diagnosing Pulmonary Squamous Cell Carcinoma

        Yan, Yue,Zhang, Ya-Xiong,Fang, Wen-Feng,Kang, Shi-Yang,Zhan, Jian-Hua,Chen, Nan,Hong, Shao-Dong,Liang, Wen-Hua,Tang, Yan-Na,He, Da-Cheng,Wu, Xuan,Zhang, Li Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.2

Background: Differentiating morphologic features based on hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining is the most common method to classify pathological subtypes of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, its accuracy and inter-observer reproducibility in pathological diagnosis of poorly differentiated NSCLC remained to be improved. Materials and Methods: We attempted to explore the role of immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining in diagnosing pulmonary squamous cell carcinoma (SQCC) with poorly differentiated features by HE staining or with elevated serum adenocarcinoma-specific tumor markers (AD-TMs). We also compared the difference of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation rate between patients with confirmed SQCC and those with revised pathological subtype. Logistic regression analyses were used to test the association between different factors and diagnostic accuracy. Results: A total of 132 patients who met the eligible criteria and had adequate specimens for IHC confirmation were included. Pathological revised cases in poor differentiated subgroup, biopsy samples and high-level AD-TMs cases were more than those with high/moderate differentiation, surgical specimens and normal-level AD-TMs. Moreover, biopsy sample was a significant factor decreasing diagnostic accuracy of pathological subtype (OR, 4.037; 95% CI 1.446-11.267, p=0.008). Additionally, EGFR mutation rate was higher in patients with pathological diagnostic changes than those with confirmed SQCC (16.7% vs 4.4%, p=0.157). Conclusions: Diagnosis based on HE staining only might cause pathological misinterpretation in NSCLC patients with poor differentiation or high-level AD-TMs, especially those with biopsy samples. HE staining and IHC should be combined as pathological diagnostic standard. The occurrence of EGFR mutations in pulmonary SQCC might be overestimated.

Dieless bulging and nonlinear buckling of longan-shaped pressure hull

He Rui,Zhang Jian,Kaewunruen Sakdirat,Zhan Ming,Liu Ping 대한조선학회 2023 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.15 No.-

In this study, the dieless bulging and nonlinear buckling behaviours of a stainless longan-shaped pressure hull were investigated. According to the Cassini oval equation, the longan shape has a shape index of 0.1. The lengths of the major and minor axes of the designed longan-shaped pressure hull were approximately 400 and 396 mm, respectively. The wall thickness of this pressure hull was 1 mm. The Huberevon Mises stress and first yielding load of the designed longan-shaped shell and its inscribed polyhedral preform were investigated analytically and experimentally. Moreover, the dieless bulging of the designed longan-shaped pressure hull was investigated numerically and experimentally by using the nonlinear finite element method and a hydrostatic test, respectively. The analytical, experimental, and numerical results exhibited good agreement with each other.

Testing serial correlation for partially nonlinear models

        Zhan-Gong Zhou,Wei-Min Qian,Chen He 한국통계학회 2010 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.39 No.4

Partially nonlinear models, as extensions of partially linear models are extensively used in statistical modeling. This paper considers the spline empirical log-likelihood ratio for testing serial correlation in partially nonlinear models. It is shown that the proposed empirical log-likelihood ratio converges to the standard chi-square distribution under the null hypothesis of no serial correlation. Some simulations are conducted to estimate the rejection probabilities under the null hypothesis and serial correlation. An example of application is also illustrated.

Research for the bearing fit effect on the vibration characteristics of spindle rotor-bearing system

        Zhan Wang,Siyang Chen,Wenzhi He,Zinan Wang,Zhongxian Xia 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.12

Spindle bearing fits mainly include interference fit of inner ring and clearance fit of outer ring, which directly affect the vibration characteristics of spindle rotor-bearing system. In this paper, the influence of spindle bearing inner and outer ring fits on bearing support stiffness is firstly studied. Considering the spindle bearing inner and outer ring fits, a dynamic model of spindle rotor-bearing system is established. Then, the analysis methods of bifurcation and time domain are used to perform simulation analysis. The influence of bearing fit on the vibration characteristics of rotor system is researched. Lastly, at different rotating speeds, bearing fits experiments are conducted on built motorized spindle test platform, which verifies the correctness of the dynamic model. The results show that the influence of bearing fit on vibration is nonlinear. The influence of clearance fit on vibration is smaller, when the clearance fit value of bearing outer ring is about 4-6 μm. The vibration characteristics of rotor are more sensitive to the clearance fit of bearing outer ring than the interference fit of bearing inner ring. The research work provides an important theoretical basis for the optimal of spindle bearing assembly.

S-C3N4 Quantum Dot Decorated ZnO Nanorods to Improve Their Photoelectrochemical Performance

        Haizhou He,Jie Li,Yang Liu,Qiong Liu,Faqi Zhan,Yaomin Li,Wenzhang Li,Jin Wen 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2017 NANO Vol.12 No.5

"S-doped C3N4 quantum dots (SCNQDs) were synthesized successfully by a low-temperature solid-phase method. The as-synthesised SCNQDs were decorated on ZnO nanorods by a dipping method. The ZnO nanorod films were prepared through a two-stage method, including pulse electrodeposition for depositing ZnO seed layer on fluorine doping SnO2 glass (FTO) and chemical bath for growing ZnO nanorods on the ZnO seed layer. The prepared samples were characterized via scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photoelectrochemical performances of the prepared samples were estimated using linear sweep voltammograms, electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS), Mott–Schottky, transient photocurrent and incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE). The results show that the light absorption edge of the prepared SCNQDs increases from 326 nm (CNQDs) to 349 nm after S doping. The CNQD decorated ZnO photoanode film exhibits 1.34 times as high photocurrent as bare ZnO photoanode film. Importantly, the photocurrent increased to 1.79 times than bare ZnO photoanode film by S doping at 1.0 V (versus Ag/AgCl), which is attributed to a wider light absorption of SCNQDs and a better efficiency of electron transfer in the interface between SCNQDs and ZnO."

Numerical investigation of the mixing process in a Twin Cam Mixer: Influence of triangular cam height-base ratio and eccentricity

        Yu He,Xiwen Li,Jiecai Long,Baojun Shen,Zhibin Sun,Yili Yang,Xiaobin Zhan 한국화학공학회 2021 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.38 No.3

The twin cam mixer (TCM), as a general-purpose mixer, shares many attributes in common with 3D industrial mixers, like the internal mixer. We investigated the mixing process in a 2D TCM with two identical isosceles triangular cams rotating at 0.5 rpm. A 2D numerical model coupled with the species transport model was employed to study the influence of cam height-base ratio and eccentricity qualitatively and quantitatively, and both were found to have a significant effect on the mixing behavior of the mixer. Furthermore, a dimensionless parameter, named the modified pressurization coefficient, is put forward to quantify the geometry of the mixer. The logarithmic relationship between the modified pressurization coefficient and the mixing quality was discovered and expected to provide new ideas for establishing the relationship between the geometric parameters of a mixer and its mixing performance.

Multi-rate Dynamic Event-triggered H∞ Control for Linear Singularly Perturbed Systems

        Shixian Luo,Zhan He,Xin Chen,Qinghua Zhong 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.11

This paper addresses the event-triggered multi-rate H∞ control problem for linear singularly perturbed systems. A two-time-scale dynamic event-triggering mechanism is proposed to generate sampling time sequences for slow and fast subsystems. The proposed dynamic event-triggering mechanism embeds with internal dynamic variables and dwell times, which can not only increase the inter-event times compared with its static counterparts but also avoid Zeno behavior naturally. The multi-rate sampled-data control law is designed by discretizing the continuous-time composite controller based on the reduced-order technique. By employing switched time-delay system approach combined with a novel switching time-dependent Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions for stability and L2-gain properties of the closed-loop systems are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the theoretical results is demonstrated by a vehicle active suspension system.

      • A Study On Critical Thinning In Thin-walled Tube Bending Of Al-Alloy 5052O Via Coupled Ductile Fracture Criteria

        Heng Li,He Yang,Mei Zhan 한국소성가공학회 2010 기타자료 Vol.2010 No.6

Thin-walled tube bending(TWTB) method of Al-alloy tube has attracted wide applications in aerospace, aviation and automobile, etc. While, under in-plane double tensile stress states at the extrados of bending tube, the overthinning induced ductile fracture is one dominant defect in Al-alloy tube bending. The main objective of this study is to predict the critical wall-thinning of Al-alloy tube bending by coupling two ductile fracture criteria(DFCs) into FE simulation. The DFCs include Continuum Damage Mechanics(CDM)-based model and GTN porous model. Through the uniaxial tensile test of the curved specimen, the basic material properties of the Al-alloy 5052O tube is obtained; via the inverse problem solution, the damage parameters of both the two fracture criteria are interatively determined. Thus the application study of the above DFCs in the TWTB is performed, and the more reasonable one is selected to obtain the critical thinning of Al-alloy tube in bending. The virtual damage initiation and evolution (when and where the ductile fracture occurs) in TWTB are investigated, and the fracture mechanisms of the voided Al-alloy tube in tube bending are consequently discussed.
