We investigated the role of nanofluid in a special car radiator and the effect of its different volume concentrationson pressure drop and friction factor of fluid flow. A mixture of 60/40 ratio of ethylene glycol (EG) and distilledwater was used as the host fluid and CuO nanoparticles were dispersed well to make stable nanofluids. The influenceof nanofluid concentrations on pressure drop was evaluated in the radiator at three different inlet fluid temperatures(35, 44, 54 oC). The results demonstrated that the presence of nanoparticles caused an increase in nanofluid pressuredrop, which was intensified by increasing nanoparticle concentration as well as decreasing temperature of inlet fluid. Anew empirical equation for prediction of nanofluid pressure drop through the radiator was developed as well. Also,with increasing the flow rate, the performance index increased and indicated that application of nanofluid in higherflow rate was affordable.

A green and efficient method for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and -thiones through one-pot three-component reaction of ethyl acetoacetate, an aryl aldehyde, and urea or thiourea in acetonitrile using silica gel-supported polyphosphoric acid (PPA-$SiO_2$) as catalyst is described. Compared to the classical Biginelli reaction conditions, the present methodology offers several advantages such as high yields, relatively short reaction times, mild reaction condition and a recyclable catalyst with a very easy work up.

In this work, the competitive adsorption of methylene blue (MB) and brilliant green (BG) onto graphite oxide (GO) nanoparticles followed by their accurate and reproducible determination by second order derivative spectrophotometry (SODS) and principal component–artificial neural network model (PCA–ANN) model has been studied. The evaluation of kinetic and isotherm studies was investigated at optimum experimental conditions set as pH = 7.0, 8 mg of GO and 14 min contact time in binary systems. The equilibrium amounts of MB and BG dyes in binary mixture adsorbed onto GO-NP has opposite correlation with their initial concentration. Principal component analysis (PCA) used to minimize the dimensionality of large data sets via reducing the number of spectral data by a three-layered feed-forward artificial neural network (ANN) trained by Levenberg–Marquardt back-propagation algorithm. The ANN model was able to predict the concentrations of both dyes in mixtures with a tangent sigmoid transfer function (tansig) at hidden layer with 20 neurons and a linear transfer function (purelin) at output layer. Several isotherm models were applied to experimental data and the isotherm constants were calculated for BG and MB dyes. Among the applied models, the extended Freundlich isotherm model adequately predicts the multi-component adsorption equilibrium data at moderate ranges of concentration.
The Specific Naming Guidelines in the English-Persian Translation of Medical Terms

Lack of appropriate equivalences for terms or technical words is the result of ineffective translation guidelines adopted in the translation process. A research needs to be done to solve the problem. The increasing number of foreign words and specific terms incorporated into the native language are the result of the ongoing development of technology and science. This highlights the magnitude of the problems and therefore, this study aims to address these problems and provides a comparative analysis of the characteristics of Persian medical terms, using the universal naming guidelines and local naming principles in the Persian language. The aim of the study is to determine the similarities and differences of the compatible and incompatible terms (Persian equivalents) with respect to the applied translation procedures and the employed word formation processes. The study also sets out to investigate the effectiveness of the adopted translation procedures in the naming of the medical terms and to propose the specific naming guidelines in the translation of English-Persian medical terms. The descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis will be employed to analyze the collected data which consisted of a population of 339 English medical terms from the source text which is ICD-9-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 9th Revision, Clinical Modification) and their pair language from the target text (Guide to ICD-9-CM) in Persian. The terms and their equivalents in Persian were limited to the musculoskeletal system of the human body under classification of the diseases and the procedures. The study needs preliminary information for analyzing the data including grammar, morphology, etymology and syntax. The Persian term will be broken down into components or morphemes with respect to the Katamba morphology (1994) and Tabatabaee’s structures (2009). The research is conducted based on two theoretical frameworks, namely Sager’s naming criteria and word designation principles by the Persian Language and Literature Academy to investigate the effective word formation parameters for the translation of English medical terms into Persian through morphosemantic comparison of the terms. The findings will indicate the characteristics of the terms incompatible with the basal naming guidelines in this study. The compatible equivalents will indicate the effective applied translation procedures and the naming requirements for the secondary word formation of the equivalents in the translation of English medical terms into Persian; while the incompatible ones will illustrate the usage of the wrong methods. The findings also will linguistically indicate the area of the incompatibility of the equivalents. It will illustrate which translation procedures and word formation processes applied in the translation of English medical terms into Persian are effective and which ones are ineffective. In conclusion, this study has identified the problem area in the translation of English medical terms into Persian through an analysis of the Persian medical equivalents using Sager’s criteria and the PLLA principles and presented guidelines unique to translation of English medical terms into Persian.

The 1:1 imine intermediate generated by the addition of primary amine to chloroacetone is trapped by Nisocyaniminotriphenylphosphorane in the presence of (E)-cinnamic acids and the corresponding iminophosphorane intermediate was formed. Disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives are formed via intramolecular aza-Wittig reaction of the iminophosphorane intermediate. The reactions were completed in neutral conditions at room temperature. The disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives were produced in excellent yields.

Reactions of (N-isocyanimino)triphenylphosphorane with (1R)-(.)-campherchinon in the presence of aromatic carboxylic acids proceed smoothly at room temperature and in neutral conditions to afford sterically congested 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives in high yields. The reaction proceeds smoothly and cleanly under mild conditions and no side reactions were observed.

The reactions of indole with carbonyl groups have been efficiently carried out in the presence of catalytic amounts of 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethylhydantoin under solvent-free conditions and corresponding bis(indolyl)-mathanes were obtained in good to excellent yields. Synthesis of di[bis(indolyl)methyl]benzene was also accomplished by this catalyst. Furthermore, chemoselective conversion of aromatic aldehydes to their corresponding bis(indolyl)methanes in the presence of aliphatic aldehydes or ketones was achieved by this method.
