      • < 구두-B-02 > Visualizing MFA distribution from cross-section of wood cell wall

        ( Yusuke Kita ),( Junji Sugiyama ) 한국목재공학회 2019 한국목재공학회 학술발표논문집 Vol.2019 No.1

The orientation angle of the microfibril along the longitudinal axis of the plant cell wall, microfibril angle (MFA), is considered as one of the most important indices because of its obvious correlation with the mechanical and chemical properties of the plant itself like Young’s modulus, shrinkage anisotropy and so on. Therefore, many ways have been invented to estimate the MFA values. However, most of the conventional methods only give us the limited information, local or spatial mean MFA values. Hence, the brand-new approach is needed which can access microscopic and macroscopic MFA values simultaneously. This study proposes the technique for evaluating the MFA distribution from the cross section of wood cell wall by use of optical anisotropy of cellulose microfibril. 10μm cross sections of 3 wood species (C. obtusa, T. dolabrata, T. cuspidata) were prepared by sliding microtome. Wavelength-sliced images among 460-601 nm under the polarization with sensitive color plate (λ= 530 nm) were extracted by polarization optical microscope (Olympus Inc.) and VariSpec liquid crystal tunable filter (CRi Inc.). The magnification of the objective lens and the interval of the sliced images were set to x10 and 3nm, respectively. Finally, these images were sequentially transformed into light intensity profiles, retardation (nm) and MFA (degree) values, respectively. This methodology reveals the potential for visualizing 2-dimensional qualitative MFA distribution in the wide range at a one time.

Pneumovaginoscopy-assisted radical hysterectomy for early-stage cervical cancer: a novel bidirectional approach for tumor spillage prevention and R0 resection

        Masato Kita,Yusuke Butsuhara,Yoji Hisamatsu,Takuya Yokoe,Hidetaka Okada 대한부인종양학회 2023 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.34 No.6

Objective: This study evaluated the feasibility and outcomes of pneumovaginoscopy-assisted radical hysterectomy (PVRH) for cervical cancer up to stage IIA using a bidirectional fasciaoriented and nerve-sparing surgical approach. Methods: This retrospective observational cohort study examined the operative outcomes and prognoses of patients who underwent PVRH (n=59) for up to stage IIA cervical cancer. The basic procedure was Kyoto B2 (Viper Type II nerve-sparing) radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy through simultaneous vaginal and abdominal (open or laparoscopic) approaches. In all cases, pneumovaginoscopy (PV) was used to create a vaginal cuff and dissect the paracolpium and paracervical endopelvic fascia to minimize nerve damage. Results: Thirty-eight (64.4%) patients had stage IB1 cancer. Seven (11.9%) had vaginal invasion (stage IIA1, n=4; IIA2, n=3). The abdominal approach was open in 38 cases and laparoscopic in 21. Adjuvant therapy was administered to 24 patients (41%); one patient received concurrent chemoradiotherapy for gastric-type adenocarcinoma. There were three (6.1%) intraoperative complications (CO2 gas embolism [n=1], sigmoid colon musculosa injury [n=1], and ureteral injury [n=1]) and 8 (14%) postoperative complications (lymphedema with cellulitis [n=4], vaginal cuff dehiscence [n=1], sub-ileus [n=1], symptomatic lymphocyst [n=l], and ureterovaginal fistula [n=1]). The median urination recovery period was 3 days. Microscopic R0 was achieved in all cases. The median follow-up was 44.5 (2–122) months, and no recurrence occurred. Conclusion: PVRH is a new fascia-oriented and nerve-sparing surgery for early-stage cervical cancer. Further, it has favorable operative outcomes and good prognoses, similar to those of adjacent pelvic surgery such as trans-anal total mesorectal excision and radical prostatectomy.

Rhodium-Catalyzed Reductive Decyanation of Nitriles Using Hydrosilane as a Reducing Agent: Scope, Mechanism and Synthetic Application

Mamoru Tobisu,Ryo Nakamura,Yusuke Kita,Naoto Chatani 대한화학회 2010 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.31 No.3

A rhodium-catalyzed reductive cleavage reaction of carbon-cyano bonds is developed using hydrosilane as a mild reducing agent. A wide range of nitriles, including aryl, benzyl, and β-hydrogen containing alkyl cyanides are applicable to this decyanation reaction. The method is also applicable to organic synthesis, in which benzyl cyanide is used as a benzyl anion equivalent and a cyano group functions as a removable ortho-directing group.

A rhodium-catalyzed reductive cleavage reaction of carbon-cyano bonds is developed using hydrosilane as a mild reducing agent. A wide range of nitriles, including aryl, benzyl, and $\beta$-hydrogen containing alkyl cyanides are applicable to this decyanation reaction.
