      • A Fast Immune Recognition Model based on Immune Response

        This paper proposes a fast immune recognition model based on immune response. Inspired by biological immune system, AIS for anomaly detection has been adopted widely because of its analogy with body resistance in the immune system provided against agents which causes diseases. This paper mainly studies correspondence between immune response and anomaly detection. Compared with traditional AIS, the change of antigen type is judged by statistical techniques, which ignores the differences of the different systems. Antibody recognition is initiated by the proposed model only when the type of antigen has changed, which improves the efficiency of the algorithm. Complexity analysis shows the proposed algorithm is a linear algorithm. The usefulness of the proposed model is demonstrated through experiments. The experiments illustrate the availability and feasibility of the model.

        A novel slippery liquid infused porous aluminum conductor with excellent corrosion resistance in simulated marine atmosphere

        The overhead aluminum conductors are prone to corrosion, especially in areas with marine climates,which interferes with the safe operation of the power system. Herein, slippery liquid infused porous surface(SLIPS) conductors were successfully prepared on pure aluminum (Bare) conductors by anodizingand infusion of silicone oil. The corrosion resistance of the conductors during 30 days of salt spray corrosionand 7 days of energized conditions was studied. The results indicated that the corrosion of theBare and anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) conductors was more severe under energized (alternating current(AC) and direct current (DC)) conditions. The exacerbation of corrosion by DC energization wasremarkably higher than that of AC energization. The AAO conductor showed better corrosion resistancethan the Bare conductor, which was attributed to the porous alumina retarding the medium intrusion. Due to the barrier effect provided by the lubricant layer, the SLIPS conductor always presented excellentcorrosion resistance than the Bare and AAO conductors. In addition, the mechanical and electrical propertiesof the SLIPS conductor were comparable to the Bare conductor and could satisfy the basic requirementsfor practical applications. The prepared SLIPS conductors offer great application prospects for thecorrosion protection of aluminum conductors.

        Nickle nanoparticles highly dispersed on reduced graphene oxide for ammonia decomposition to hydrogen

        The Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalysts are synthesized by an in situ hydrothermal method, using thegraphene oxide as the support precursor. The textural and structural properties of the prepared Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalysts are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmissionelectron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, H2-Temperature-programmed reduction, andelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The catalytic performances of the prepared Ni/reducedgraphene oxide catalysts for ammonia decomposition display the enhanced activity. The effect ofreduced graphene oxide support and the influence of nickel content on catalytic activity are evaluated,and the Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalysts exhibit higher catalytic activity than reduced grapheneoxide support and the pure NiO. The ammonia has a conversion of 81.9% and 27.4 mmol/min gcat H2 rateat 700 8C when the 10%-Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalyst used.

        Yield Prediction for Integrated Circuits Manufacturing Through Hierarchical Bayesian Modeling of Spatial Defects

        <P>Accurate yield prediction to evaluate productivity, and to estimate production costs, is a critical issue in the highly competitive semiconductor industry. We propose yield models based on hierarchical Bayesian modeling of clustered spatial defects produced in integrated circuits (IC) manufacturing. We use spatial locations of the IC chips on the wafers as covariates, and develop four models based on Poisson regression, negative binomial (NB) regression, zero-inflated Poisson (ZIP) regression, and zero-inflated negative binomial (ZINB) regression. Along with the hierarchical Bayesian approaches, spatial variations of defects within one wafer as well as among different wafers are effectively incorporated in the yield models. Wafermap data obtained from an industrial collaborator are used to illustrate the proposed models. The results indicate that the Poisson regression model consistently underestimates the true yield because of extraneous Poisson variation caused by defect clustering. On the contrary, NB regression, ZIP regression, and ZINB regression models provide more reliable yield estimation and prediction in real applications.</P>

        Anesthetic Management and Outcomes of Endovascular Treatment of Basilar Artery Occlusion: Results From the ATTENTION Registry

        Background and Purpose To examine the clinical and safety outcomes after endovascular treatment (EVT) for acute basilar artery occlusion (BAO) with different anesthetic modalities. Methods This was a retrospective analysis using data from the Endovascular Treatment for Acute Basilar Artery Occlusion (ATTENTION) registry. Patients were divided into two groups defined by anesthetic modality performed during EVT: general anesthesia (GA) or non-general anesthesia (non-GA). The association between anesthetic management and clinical outcomes was evaluated in a propensity score matched (PSM) cohort and an inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) cohort to adjust for imbalances between the two groups. Results Our analytic sample included 1,672 patients from 48 centers. The anesthetic modality was GA in 769 (46.0%) and non-GA in 903 (54.0%) patients. In our primary analysis with the PSM-based cohort, non-GA was comparable to GA concerning the primary outcome (adjusted common odds ratio [acOR], 1.01; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.82 to 1.25; <i>P</i>=0.91). Mortality at 90 days was 38.4% in the GA group and 35.8% in the non-GA group (adjusted risk ratio, 0.95; 95% CI, 0.83 to 1.08; <i>P</i>=0.44). In our secondary analysis with the IPTW-based cohort, the anesthetic modality was significantly associated with the distribution of modified Rankin Scale at 90 days (acOR: 1.45 [95% CI: 1.20 to 1.75]). Conclusion In this nationally-representative observational study, acute ischemic stroke patients due to BAO undergoing EVT without GA had similar clinical and safety outcomes compared with patients treated with GA. These findings provide the basis for large-scale randomized controlled trials to test whether anesthetic management provides meaningful clinical effects for patients undergoing EVT.

        Detection of Spatial Defect Patterns Generated in Semiconductor Fabrication Processes

        <P>Spatial defect patterns generated during integrated circuit (IC) manufacturing processes contain information about potential problems in the processes. The detection of these defect patterns is crucial to improve yield and reliability in IC manufacturing. This paper proposes a multistep defect analysis approach that provides clustering results with different levels of accuracy. A defect denoising step, based on the <I>K</I> th nearest-neighbor noise removal technique, determines the existence of any clustered local defects on a wafer. If local defects exist, the denoising step separates local defects from global defects. A defect clustering step applies a similarity-based clustering technique to group the local defects into clusters according to their spatial locations. A pattern identification step identifies the pattern for each of the local defect clusters (i.e., linear, curvilinear, amorphous, or ring-shaped patterns) via various model selection criteria. Finally, a fine tuning step is applied in order to improve the accuracy of the clustering performance. The fine tuning step is based on model-based clustering with a fixed number of clusters and known patterns for each cluster. The results of both simulated and real wafer map data demonstrate the potential of our approach, both in terms of computational speed and detection accuracy, for analyzing general defect patterns generated during the IC fabrication process.</P>

      • Association Study of Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms of STAT2/STAT3/IFN-γ Genes in Cervical Cancer in Southern Chinese Han Women

        Objective: Interferon-${\gamma}$ (IFN-${\gamma}$) and signal transducers and activators of transcription (STATs) each play an important role in carcinogenesis associated with viral infection. Cervical cancer is almost invariably associated with infection by human papillomavirus (HPV), and previous studies suggested that dysregulation of the signal pathway involved in IFN-${\gamma}$ and STATs is associated. Our objective was to evaluate the association of SNPs in STAT2, STAT3, and IFN-${\gamma}$ with cervical cancer susceptibility in Chinese Han women in Hunan province. Materials and Methods: Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples of 234 cervical cancer patients and 216 healthy female controls. STAT2 and STAT3 genotyping was performed using polymerase chain reaction-restriction enzyme (PCR-RE) analysis. IFN-${\gamma}$ genotyping was detected by PCR-amplification of specific allele (PASA). Results: For STAT2 rs2066807 polymorphisms, there was no significant difference of genotype distribution (P=0.827) and allele frequencies (P=0.830, OR=1.09, 95% CI: 0.51-2.31) between cases and controls. For STAT3 rs957970 polymorphisms, there was no significant difference of genotype distribution (P=0.455) and allele frequencies (P=0.560, OR=0.92, 95% CI: 0.71-1.20) between cases and controls. For IFN-${\gamma}$ +874A/T polymorphisms, there was no significant difference of genotype distribution (P=0.652) and allele frequencies (P=0.527, OR=1.12, 95% CI: 0.79-1.59) between cases and controls. Conclusion: These results suggest that polymorphisms in STAT2, STAT3 and IFN-${\gamma}$ genes are not likely to be strong predictors of cervical cancer in Han women in southern China.

        Towards network governance: educational reforms and governance changes in China (1985–2020)

        Network governance has become a widely recognized and increasingly utilized instrument for leading and managing public service delivery, especially in the education sphere. However, beyond mainstream Western contexts, network governance in education is under-researched. With reference to network governance theories, this study explored the evolution of education governance in China from 1985 to 2020. Based on a thorough analysis of policy documents and scholarly research, this article argues that the Chinese central state has changed its governance mode from centralization to network governance by incorporating peripheral actors, including local governments, schools, and societal forces, as active agents in governing education. However, despite these peripheral actors’ increasing autonomy and participation, the central state still retains the ultimate power and authority over education governance in China. This study aimed to deepen the theoretical and practical understanding of China’s governance over education while also contributing to mapping the global landscape of network governance.
