Density Functional Calculations for Ferromagnetic Mn3Ge with a Cu3Au-Type Structure

        Yu-Fei Kong,Song-You Wang,Gang Yin,Liang-Yao Chen,Ming Xu 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.5I

The density-functional method is applied to investigate the structural, electronic and magnetic properties of a new intermetallic compound, Mn3Ge with a Cu3Au-type structure, which was syn- thesized recently. Our results, comparing the generalized gradient approximation and the local density approximation methods for the electronic and the magnetic properties of the newly synthe- sized material, are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data.

Efficient and Secure Identity-Based Public Auditing for Dynamic Outsourced Data with Proxy

( Haiyang Yu ),( Yongquan Cai ),( Shanshan Kong ),( Zhenhu Ning ),( Fei Xue ),( Han Zhong ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2017 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.11 No.10

Cloud storage becomes a new trend that more and more users move their data to cloud storage servers (CSSs). To ensure the security of cloud storage, many cloud auditing schemes are proposed to check the integrity of users’ cloud data. However, most of them are based on public key infrastructure, which leads to complex certificates management and verification. Besides, most existing auditing schemes are inefficient when user uploads a large amount of data or a third party auditor (TPA) performs auditing for multiple users’ data on different CSSs. To overcome these problems, in this paper, we propose an efficient and secure auditing scheme based on identity-based cryptography. To relieve user’s computation burden, we introduce a proxy, which is delegated to generate and upload homomorphic verifiable tags for user. We extend our auditing scheme to support auditing for dynamic data operations. We further extend it to support batch auditing in multiple users and multiple CSSs setting, which is practical and efficient in large scale cloud storage system. Extensive security analysis shows that our scheme is provably secure in random oracle model. Performance analysis demonstrates that our scheme is highly efficient, especially reducing the computation cost of proxy and TPA.

      • Semi-quantum Key Distribution Protocol Based on Bell States

        Haiyang Yu,Yongquan Cai,Shanshan Kong,Fei Xue,Ditta Allah 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.12

A quantum key distribution protocol with traditional Bob has been proposed recently by Boyer et al. using single-particle state. In this paper, a semi-quantum key distribution protocol is described, in which Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pairs of particles are utilized to generate a secret key in remote places. This extends the quantum key distribution protocol with traditional Bob where the single-qubit channel is replaced by the entangled EPR-pair channel. And quantum Alice is able to do any quantum operations, preparing quantum states and performing quantum measurement, but traditional Bob is not able to prepare and measure a particle in the computational basis, reflect the particles. Furthermore, entanglement states are used in our protocol. The analysis shows that our protocol is secure, which can avoid the beam splitter attack automatically, and the proposed protocol is more efficient than Boyer’s scheme.

      • Retinoid Receptors in Gastric Cancer: Expression and Influence on Prognosis

Hu, Kong-Wang,Chen, Fei-Hu,Ge, Jin-Fang,Cao, Li-Yu,Li, Hao Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.5

Background: Gastric cancer is frequently lethal despite aggressive multimodal therapies, and new treatment approaches are therefore needed. Retinoids are potential candidate drugs: they prevent cell differentiation, proliferation and malignant transformation in gastric cancer cell lines. They interact with nuclear retinoid receptors (the retinoic acid receptors [RARs] and retinoid X receptors [RXRs]), which function as transcription factors, each with three subclasses, ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ and ${\gamma}$. At present, little is known about retinoid expression and influence on prognosis in gastric cancers. Patients and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the expression of the subtypes RARa, $RAR{\beta}$, $RAR{\gamma}$, RXRa, $RXR{\beta}$, $RXR{\gamma}$ by immunohistochemistry in 147 gastric cancers and 51 normal gastric epithelium tissues for whom clinical follow-up data were available and correlated the results with clinical characteristics. In addition, we quantified the expression of retinoid receptor mRNA using real-time PCR (RT-PCR) in another 6 gastric adenocarcinoma and 3 normal gastric tissues. From 2008 to 2010, 80 patients with gastric cancers were enrolled onto therapy with all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA). Results: RARa, $RAR{\beta}$, $RAR{\gamma}$ and $RXR{\gamma}$ positively correlated with each other (p < 0.001) and demonstrated significantly lower levels in the carcinoma tissue sections (p < 0.01), with lower $RAR{\beta}$, $RAR{\gamma}$ and RXRa expression significantly related to advanced stages (p < =0.01). Tumors with poor histopathologic grade had lower levels of RARa and $RAR{\beta}$ in different histological types of gastric carcinoma (p < 0.01). Patients whose tumors exhibited low levels of RARa expression had significantly lower overall survival compared with patients who had higher expression levels of this receptor (p < 0.001, HR=0.42, 95.0% CI 0.24-0.73), and patients undergoing ATRA treatment had significantly longer median survival times (p = 0.007, HR=0.41, 95.0% CI 0.21-0.80). Conclusions: Retinoic acid receptors are frequently expressed in epithelial gastric cancer with a decreased tendency of expression and RARa may be an indicator of a positive prognosis. This study provides a molecular basis for the therapeutic use of retinoids against gastric cancer.

Ellipsometric Study of the Optical Properties of Silicon-Based Si:SiO2 Composite Thin Films under Different Annealing Temperatures

        Bin Sun,Yu-Xiang Zheng,Cong-Hui Xu,Liang-Yao Chen,Peng Zhou,Yue-Rui Chen,Yu-Fei Kong 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.5I

In our work, silicon and silica composite .lms were prepared by using a magnetron sputtering method, and the samples were annealed in the temperature range between 200 ±C and 600 ±C. After annealing, the samples were investigated by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE), and the SE spectra were measured in the range of 1.5 eV ≫ 4.5 eV with a dual-rotating-element ellipsometer. In order to investigate the microstructure information of the .lm by .tting the SE spectra using the eective- medium approximation (EMA), we modeled the whole .lm by using a multilayer optical model including a surface oxide layer, a composite layer, and substrate layer. We used dierent mixtures to describe the composite layer, and .nally we found that a mixture of amorphous silicon (a-Si), polycrystalline silicon (p-Si), and silicon dioxide had the best .t to the SE spectra. Whereafter, we studied the dependences of the surface roughness, the layer structure, and the composition on the dierent annealing temperatures and found that with increasing annealing temperature, the surface oxide layer grew in thickness, the silicon dioxide maintained its volume fraction, and a-Si transferred to p-Si.

      • Synergistic Increase of Oxidative Stress and Tumor Markers in PAH-Exposed Workers

        Gao, Mei-Li,Chen, Lei,Li, Yong-Fei,Xue, Xiao-Chang,Chen, Lan,Wang, Li-Na,Shah, Walayat,Kong, Yu Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.17

In this study, we investigated oxidative stress and tumor marker levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in 136 coke oven workers and in 60 control subjects, and evaluated the correlation between oxidative stress and tumor marker levels. Questionnaires on basic demographic information were also administered. Significant differences in employment time and percentages of alcohol drinkers were observed between the control and exposed groups. PAH exposure was assessed using urinary 1-hydroxy-pyrene (1-OHP) levels and was found to be significantly higher in workers than in the controls. Significant differences (P<0.001) of MDA, GST, LDH, NSE, Cyfra21-1, and of SCC and TNF-a (P<0.0001 and P<0.05, P<0.001, respectively) levels were observed among controls and coke-oven workers, except for bottom coke oven workers. Associations between age and risk of increased TNF-a, smoking and increased GST activities, and drinking with increased MDA concentrations, were marginal (P=0.055, P=0.048, P=0.057, respectively). The association between smoking with MDA (P=0.004), NSE (P=0.005), SCC (P=0.004) andTNF-a (P<0.001), and drinking with TNF-a levels was significant (P=0.012). In addition, a significant positive correlation between oxidative stress and tumor markers was found in the present study. These results suggest that a synergistic increase of oxidative stress and tumor markers induced by PAHs may play a role in toxic responses for PAHs in coke oven workers.
