Zr-2.5Nb Pressure tube was used in the distilled water under high temperature and pressure. However, the evaluation of DHCV for pressure tube was limited in the air until now. Therefore, it was necessary for DHCV both in the air and in the distilled water under high temperature and pressure to evaluate. In advance, new DHC equipment simulating the real operating condition in the distilled water under high temperature and pressure was developed and DHCV test was conducted by this equipment. The test was carried out under simulated condition using distilled water of 250℃, 86bar and this result was compared with that of DHCV in the air of 250℃. DHCV of the distilled water was ranged from 8.42×10?? to 9.92×10?? m/s and the average value was 9.01×10?? m/s. As compared with the air condition, it was found that the characteristics of DHCV was not affected by the distilled water of high temperature and pressure. In addition, DHC equipment for high temperature and pressure was satisfied with the reliable conditions such as sealing, temperature control and data acquisition.

<P>Inflammation of the asthmatic airway is usually accompanied by increased vascular permeability and plasma exudation. Oxidative stress plays critical roles in airway inflammation. Although reactive oxygen species (ROS) are shown to cause vascular leakage, the mechanisms by which ROS induce increased vascular permeability are not clearly understood. We have used a murine model of asthma to evaluate the effect of l-2-oxothiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (OTC), a prodrug of cysteine that acts as an antioxidant, more specifically in the increase of vascular permeability. These mice develop the following typical pathophysiological features of asthma in the lungs: increased numbers of inflammatory cells of the airways, airway hyper-responsiveness, increased vascular permeability, and increased levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Administration of OTC markedly reduced plasma extravasation and VEGF levels in allergen-induced asthmatic lungs. We also showed that at 72 h after ovalbumin inhalation, increased levels of hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha (a transcriptional activator of VEGF) in nuclear protein extracts of lung tissues were decreased by the administration of OTC. These results indicate that OTC modulates vascular permeability by lowering VEGF expression.</P>

Thrombocytopenia is hematologic disorder commonly occurs during pregnancy (5%) with different severity. It doesn`t cause severe problem during pregnancy and after the delivery if it is not below certain level which will cause spontaneous bleeding. But in this case, patient was previous cesarean section status and platelet number didn`t arise more than 20,000/μl even after transfusion which will cause spontaneous bleeding. Vaginal delivery was done because transverse cesarean section was considered relatively safe although there was the risk of rupture of uterus, and was successful-both mother and baby is in good health condition. Here now we report this case because vaginal delivery of Immunologic thrombocytopenic purpuric woman with prior history of cesarean section has not reported.

<P>The aim of this study was to determine antimicrobial susceptibility of recent clinical <I>Stenotrophomonas maltophilia</I> isolates from Korea, and to compare the activity levels of several combinations of antimicrobials. A total of 206 non-duplicate clinical isolates of <I>S. maltophilia</I> was collected in 2010 from 11 university hospitals. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed using the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute agar dilution method. In vitro activity of antimicrobial combinations was tested using the checkerboard method. The susceptibility rates to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole and minocycline were 96% and 99%, respectively. The susceptibility rate to levofloxacin was 64%. All of four antimicrobial combinations showed synergy against many <I>S. maltophilia</I> isolates. A combination of trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole plus ticarcillin-clavulanate was most synergistic among the combinations. None of the combinations showed antagonistic activity. Therefore, some of the combinations may be more useful than individual drugs in the treatment of <I>S. maltophilia</I> infection. Further clinical studies are warranted to validate our in vitro test results.</P>

The Glycoprotein D (gD) gene of the HSV-1 strain F was cloned, sequenced, recombinated into the HcNPV (Hyphantria cunea nuclear polyhedrosis virus) expression vector and expressed in insect cells. The gD gene was located in the 6.43 kb BamHI fragment of the strainF. The open reading frame (ORF) of the gD gene was 1,185 by and codes 394 amino acid residues. Recombinant baculoviruses, GD-HcNPVs, expressing the gD protein were constructed. Spodoptera frugiperda cells, infected with the recombinant virus, synthesized a matured gX-gD fusion protein with an approximate molecular weight of 54 kDa and secreted the gD proteins into the culture media by an immunoprecipitation assay The fusion gD protein was localized on the membrane of the insect cells, seen by using an immunofluorescence assay The deduced amino acid sequence presents additional characteristics compatible with the structure of a viral glycoprotein: signal peptide, putative glycosylation sites and a long C-terminal transmembrane sequence. These results indicate the utility of the HcNPV-insect cell system for producing and characterizing eukaryotic proteins.
Development of Mobile Station in the CDMA Mobile System

This paper describes the development of the CDMA mobile station to support non-speech, mobile office services such as data, fax, and short message service in addition to voice. We developed some important functions of layer 2 and layer 3. To provide non-speech services, we developed a terminal adapter and user interface software. The description of development process, software architecture and external interfaces required to provide such services is given. The description of a TTA-62 message analysis tool, a mobile station monitoring software, and an automatic test system developed for integration tests and performance measurements is also given.
