The distinguishing feature of a fl exible electronic device is that it maintains its function even when the shape changes repeatedly. As the degree of integration of fl exible devices increases, revealing failure mechanisms and extending the lifetime ofthe fl exible devices are getting more diffi cult. One of the potential damage zones is the interface of heterogeneous materialcomponents, where strain can be localized due to the mismatch of mechanical properties. In this study, we investigate themechanically reliable interconnect design of the fl exible printed circuit board (FPCB) system in which the packaging chipis integrated. When the FPCB was bent, folding occurred at the edge of the packaging chip due to the high bending rigiditycompared with the plastic substrate and resulted in high strain concentration. By introducing interconnect architecture thatbypassed the strain concentration area around the packaging chip, mechanical damage of the interconnects was successfullyreduced. Through fi nite element simulation, the strain applied to the interconnect crossing the strain-concentrated regionwas predicted to be 2 times larger than that bypassing the strain-concentrated region, from 8.32 to 4.64%. In addition, thestrain gap of these two interconnects could be increased as the Young’s modulus mismatch between the packaging chip andthe substrate increased. This study is expected to improve the design guidelines to mechanically reliable interconnects inhighly integrated fl exible electronics.

With the fast development of Internet environment, e-Commerce is rapidly increasing. In the expanding e-Commerce environment, the need for a new e-Commerce systems that will deliver products to the customer rapidly and increase sales is growing bigger. These requirements brought many researches on recommender systems. However, until now, those recommender systems have a limit because it takes too much time for recommender systems to give customers the recommendations in real time, if the number of purchase data of customers is large. So this paper concerns on the recommender systems using collaborative filtering as one of the solutions to increase the competitive power. We proposed and experimented the more improved recommender systems which could decrease the data size to shorten the recommending time by using the representative category of the product which customers want to buy. Also, we design and implement a recommender system using Enterprise JavaBeans.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the prognostic value of the metabolic tumor volume measured on 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) imaging and other clinical factors in patients treated for locally advanced head-and-neck cancer (HNC) at a single institution. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between June 2005 and August 2008, 59 patients with HNC that underwent pretreatment FDG-PET studies received neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Metabolically active tumor regions were delineated on the pretreatment PET scans by a fixed SUV of 2.5. We evaluated the relationship of the 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-PET maximum standardized uptake value (SUV) and the metabolic tumor volume (MTV) with the progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). RESULTS: The MTV and lymph node metastasis were predictive of the PFS and OS. The lymph node status did not correlate with the MTV. A higher MTV of 9.3 cm(3) was significantly associated with an increased risk of recurrence (2.19-fold, p = 0.006) and death (1.62-fold, p = 0.051). Separation of patients with tumor volumes <or= 9.3 cm(3) and no lymph node disease vs. any other combination was strongly predictive of the PFS and the OS. CONCLUSIONS: MTV and lymph node status were prognostic values associated with survival. Quantitative measurement of tumor volume separates patients with a good prognosis from those with a poorer prognosis. A subset of patients with relatively small tumors and no lymph node involvement did very well.

Many researchers revealed that collagen contribute to maintaining the skin’s elasticity and inhibit wrinkling of skin. Korean native cattle (Hanwoo) bone (leg bone, foot and tail) infusion contains the various inorganic materials, collagen and chondroitin sulfate. All of this, a large quantity of collagen is included in Hanwoo infusion. Therefore, this study emphasized on the effects of collagen in the Hanwoo bone infusion. For the first time, Hanwoo bone infusions were directly added to the media of Human Dermal Fibroblast (NHDF-c) to test anti-aging effects. First, it was identified that growth rate of skin fibroblast was increased. Furthermore, the Hanwoo bone infusion increased a 50% of fibroblast collagen synthesis. Also, suppression of skin fibroblast aging was confirmed by treatment Hanwoo bone infusion. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the effects of infusion made from Hanwoo leg bone, foot and tail on anti-aging, wrinkle inhibiting and skin fibroblast elasticity maintaining. Therefore, this study identified that traditional infusion has effects that are good for skin elasticity.

NABIC(National Agricultural Biotechnology Information Center) established integrated management system of agricultural omics information to achieve and analyze a agricultural bio-information resources in Korea. The amount of bio-information is enormously increasing due to emergence of NGS(Next Generation Sequencing) technology. We are building, maintaining and providing agricultural bio-information databases and information services. Various data type for submission is available such as genome, proteome, transcriptome, metabolome, molecular marker, etc. We issue the submission confirmation which is available for research achievement. Currently, the amount of data submitted on our system is 30Tb. We are also providing various analysis pipelines such as NGS analysis(denovo, rna-seq, reference assembly), Gene annotation, GWAS, marker analysis for breeding ,Microbial community analysis and differential expression profiling analysis using submitted data through web. We have a plan to provide bioinformatics education portal in this year.

Introduction: Delirium is one of the most common neuropsychiatric complications in patients with terminal cancer and an independent factor of poor prognosis for short-term survival. There were lack of previous studies examining the risk factors, assessment, management, and outcomes of delirium. We investigated the prevalence of delirium, types of delirium, risk factors for delirium, association between delirium occurence and survival, and differences of survival up to delirium types. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 176 cancer patients admitted at a tertiary hospice care unit from Jan. to Dec. 2013. Results: Of the 176 terminal cancer patients, 99 patients (56.2%) experienced delirium. The most common subtype was hypoactive delirium (50.5%). The mortality rate was higher in delirium group than control group (88.9% vs. 62.3%, p 0.001). There were no differences of mean survival time between delirium group and control group (29.58±4.38 vs. 27.12±1.96, p=0.978) and between subtypes of delirium (hyperactive vs. hypoactive vs. mixed type 15.89±2.59 vs. 16.21±2.06 vs. 16.56±2.71, p=0.987). In univariate and multivariate analysis, the use of opioid had independent factor for the development of delirium (HR 4.465, 95% CI 1.039-19.187, p=0.044). Conclusions: Delirium is a frequent complication in terminal cancer and the development of delirium increased the mortality rate. The use of opioid is an independent factor of the development of delirium.
