Influence of Al Addition Upon the Microstructure and Mechanical Property of Dual‑Phase 9Cr‑ODS Steels

        Xiaosheng Zhou,Zongqing Ma,Liming Yu,Yuan Huang,Huijun Li,Yongchang Liu 대한금속·재료학회 2019 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.25 No.1

With Al addition, dual-phase oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steels consisting of martensite and ferrite are fabricatedby spark plasma sintering. It is found that Al addition has a negligible effect on martensite lath size, while the amount andsize of ferrite grains are related to the Al content. M23C6(M = Fe, Cr) carbides have been identified within the ferrite grainsor along ferrite boundaries. With increasing Al concentration, more fine Y–Al–O oxide nanoparticles are formed. Uponannealing treatment, homogeneous and refined distribution of ferrite grains is obtained, which may involve the particlestimulatednucleation of recrystallization caused by the large sized M23C6. As Al is increased from 0.05 to 0.1 wt%, thetensile strength of the annealed steel is decreased, as well as its ductility. For the annealed 9Cr-ODS steel containing 0.1 wt%Al, in tensile loading the large sized M23C6along ferrite boundaries would facilitate the cracking along boundaries betweenthe hard annealed ferrite and soft annealed martensite, producing the mixed fracture of dimple and intergranular fracture.

Optical Properties of Tm-Er Codoped Aluminate Glasses

        Zhisong Xiao,Lu Yan,Bo Zhou,Fang Zhu,Anping Huang,Jinliang Wang,Yongchang Zhu 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.52 No.-

Transparent CaO-Al₂O₃-B₂O₃ glasses codoped with Tm³+ and Er³+ were prepared by melt quenching and subsequent heating. Optical absorption spectra revealed an ultraviolet to visible absorption band corresponding to a relative electronic transition of Tm3+ and Er³+. For Tm-only doped glasses, the 791-nm absorption line is prominent and also has comparable strength in Tm-Er codoped glasses. Both 405-nm and 791-nm wavelengths have been used as excitation sources to comparatively study the photoluminescence characteristics of Tm3+ and Er3+. Only Er3+ emission at 1528 nm has been observed under a pumping wavelength of 405 nm. However, both Tm3+ and Er³+ emission can be found with an excitation wavelength of 791 nm. It implies that 791 nm should be very effective for pumping Tm-Er codoped aluminate glass for application in broadband optical waveguide amplifiers. Contrast-Enhanced Harmonic Ultrasonography for the Assessment of Prostate Cancer Aggressiveness: a Preliminary Study

        Yunkai Zhu,Yaqing Chen,Jun Jiang,Ren Wang,Yongchang Zhou,Huizhen Zhang 대한영상의학회 2010 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.11 No.1

Objective: To determine whether contrast-enhanced harmonic ultrasonography can be used to predict the aggressiveness of prostate cancer. Materials and Methods: Contrast-enhanced harmonic ultrasonography was performed in 103 patients suspected of prostate cancer before biopsy. Time intensity curves were reconstructed for systematic biopsy sites and sonographic abnormalities. The characteristics of the curves were described using hemodynamic indices including arrival time (AT), time-to-peak (TTP), and peak intensity (PI). The differences of hemodynamic indices between high-grade and low-grade cancer were analyzed and the correlations between the hemodynamic indices and biopsy Gleason score were studied. Results: Prostate cancer was detected in 41 of 103 patients and there were significant differences in the hemodynamic indices between the biopsy sites of the non-malignant patients and prostate cancer lesions (p < 0.05). The prostate biopsies revealed 154 prostate cancer lesions, including 31 low-grade lesions and 123 high-grade lesions. The hemodynamic indices AT and TTP of highgrade tumors were significantly shorter than those of low-grade tumors (p = 0.001, 0.002). In addition, high-grade peripheral zone (PZ) tumors had higher PI than low-grade PZ tumors (p = 0.009). The PZ prostate cancer Gleason score correlated with PI, AT and TTP, with Spearman correlation coefficients of 0.223, -0.335, and -0.351, respectively (p = 0.013, < 0.001 and < 0.001). Conclusion: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound measurements of hemodynamic indices correlate with the prostate cancer Gleason score.
