Kinetics of the Solvolysis of Benzyl Bromides in Alcohols

The kinetics of the solvolysis of benzyl and p-or m-substituted benzyl bromides in various alcohols have been determined by an electric conductivity method. From these reactions, a curved Hammett plot is obtained and a mechanism is proposed to account for the nonlinear behavior observed. In addition, effects of solvent polarity on the activation parameters for the solvolysis of benzyl bromides are discussed.

o-Terphenyl형 화합물들의 고리화반응을 궤도대칭이론과 에너지 상관도로서 해석하였다. 그 결고ㅓㅏ o-terphenyl형 화합물들의 고리화반응은 광고리화반응이었다. 이것은 실험적 사실 및 타이론적 결과와 잘 일치하였다. The cyclization of o-terphenyl type compounds were interpreted by means of orbital symmetry theory and energy correlation diagram. Results show that the cyclization of o-terphenyl type compounds are photocyclization. This agrees with the experimental result and other theoretical ones.

폴리프로필렌纖維는 他纖維에 比하여 機械的, 化學的性質이 매우 優秀하나 難染性 때문에 衣料用으로는 別로 쓰여지지 않고 있다. 폴리프로필렌의 染色性을 向上시키기 爲한 많은 硏究와 特許가 나와있으나 이들 大部分은 纖維의 개질등에 의한 방법으로서, 纖維에 직접, 견고한 染色을 할 수 있는 染料의 硏究는 거의 없다. 著者들은 카르벤을 生成시키므로써 他 纖維에는 勿論 폴리프로필렌纖維에 直接 染色될 수 있는 새로운형의 反應性染料를 合成하였다. 卽 알데히드基를 가지는 分散染料와 토실히드라진으로부터 合成한 새로운 反應性染料로서 폴리프로필렌을 染色한 結果, 濃色의 堅固한 染色物을 얻을 수 있었다. Although isotactic polypropylene gives an excellent fiber having high tenacity, abrasion resistance and chemical stability, it has not been widely used as a fabric for chlothing because of its poor dyeability. A number of methods for improvement of its dyeability have been proposed, but they were too complicated and/or gave damage its original excellent properties of polypropylene. We now wish to report the synthesis of a new reactive dye for polypropylene fiber by means of carbenic process. A reactive dye was synthesized from azo disperse dye having an aldehyde group and tosylhydrazine. By using this synthesized reactive dye, polypropylene fiber was dyed to thick and fast color.
다산 정약용과 Henry George의 토지사상에 관한 비교 연구

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES I research economically and systematically appropriate viewpoint and practical principle as comparing and analyzing the similarity and difference between the thoughts of Henry George and Jung Yakyoung. Henry George asserted a free transaction and land single tax to break through progress. poverty, and periodic recession according as economical impropriety in his book "Progress and Poverty"; on the other hand, Jung Yakyoung asserted Yeojeonje and Jeongjeonje. (2) RESEARCH METHOD I study Jung Yakyoung's thought asserted Yeojeonje and Jeongjeonje and explore Henry George's idea focused on Land Value Taxation. I proceed the study primarily focused on "Yeoyudangjeonseo" by analysis of literature to achieve my research goal. (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS The common point between the ideas of Jung Yakyoung and Henry George is a joint ownership to solve injustice and unequal distribution of wealth. which clearly come out in the present culture. Therefore. the similarity of both reformation proposals is to resolve an unequal difference between the poor and the rich; on the other hand, the difference is Jung Yakyoung based on the theory that all the land belong to king and Henry George based on the theory of Christianity and natural law. 2. RESULTS Both Henry George and Jung Yakyoung suggested ideal models about land study, however, they have different opinions about a value evaluation about which systematic structure is good or bad. I compare the thoughts of Henry George and Jung Yakyoung to overcome different opinions and concrete a realist ic land policy. Land issue have divergent interests being in gear with a social, economical, and political triangle structure. If a paradigm is suggested in a diverse viewpoint to give a consideration the land could not possessed on the same plan as a general thing and take into account the peculiarity of goods and the vice of land private possession, it could invite the public concept of land ownership adapted in capitalism as the people aware the land could not be possessed absolutely and exclusively.

After the 9/11 attack in 2001, Various studies have been conducted on how to more efficiently evacuate occupants in the super high-rise buildings. The purpose of this study is to research on emergency exitways so as to minimize the casualties by sudden disasters, such as terrorist attacks, typhoons, and earthquakes, etc. Our study shows that emergency exitways may be considerably improved by providing safe refuge spaces on each floor, as exemplified in the Shanghai Center Building in China.

We obtained fast dyed polypropylene fiber, which has no functional group to be dyed, by producing a carbene on the dye molecule by the pyrolysis of lithium salt of dye molecule-tosylhydrazone, then the carbene simultaneously inserted into a C-H bond of polypropylene. To investigate the possibility of actual use in the industry, a variety of reactive azo dyes were prepared from aldehyde, acetophenone and benzophenone derivatives by changing reactive site of precursors which greatly affected properties of dyes. Reactive dyes of the benzophenone derivatives were excellent in the reaction with polypropylene, especially, a dye prepared from chloroaminobenzophenone with N,N-dimethyl aniline was found most excellent. 難染性纖維인 폴리프로필렌用 反應性染料를 開發하기 위하여 反應部位로서 카르벤을 染料에 生成케하여 폴리프로필렌의 C-H結合에 揷入反應을 시켜 堅固한 染着物을 얻을 수 있었다. 反應性카르벤染料의 前驅體로서 알데히드係, 메틸케톤係 및 페닐케톤係 反應性染料를 合成하고 카보닐基에 토실히드라진 및 부틸리튬을 各各 作用하여 各種染料의 토실히드라존리튬鹽을 만들어 폴리프로필렌상에서 加熱分解시킴으로써 染料分子에 生成된 카르벤이 폴리프로필렌에 共有結合을 하여 染着하였다. 여기에서 合成한 各種 카르벤染料들은 카르벤이 生成되는 隣接位에 있는 置換基의 種類와 位置에 따라 反應性에 差異點을 나타내었다. 특히 페닐케톤係 反應性染料가 反應性이 優秀하였으며 이들 페닐케톤係 反應性染料의 前驅體中에서도 클로로基를 가지는 클로로아미노벤조페논으로부터 合成한 染料가 他에 비해 反應性이 良好하였다.

저자들은 tetrahedrane생성의 전구체인 t-butenedial bistosylhydrazone의 입체적인 구조를 연구할 목적으로 이의 유사한 구조인 ${\alpha},{\beta}$위치에 이중결합을 가지고 있는 몇 가지 phenylhydrazone을 합성하고 이들의 형태 및 배위를 nmr spectra의 해석으로부터 구명했다. 벤젠용매와 aliphatic solvent(CC14, DMSO)에서의 chemical shift의 차이로 부터 이들 물질이 syn-configuration을 가지고 있음을 알았으며 spin-spin coupling constant 로부터 이들 물질의 형태를 고찰하였다. Conformations and cofigurations were studied for some ${\alpha},{\beta}$-unsaturated phenylhydrazones which have similar structures to the stucture of butenedial bistosylhydrazone, a precursor of tetrahedrane, by the analysis of their nmr spectra. The chemical shift difference between two solvents, benzene and aliphatic solvents, was applied for the assigning syn and anti structures of phenylhydrazone isomers as a convenient method. In this work, it was found that the phenylhydrazones have syn configurations and also found that the dihedral angles of $CH_a-CH_b$ are around $150^{\circ}$ at room temperature from the the interpretation of the vicinal spin-spin coupling constants. These results were discussed in concerning with their conformations.
