Review of the Synthetic Techniques and Applications of the Quantum Dots/Graphene Composites

        Yong Duan,Tianjian Zeng,Tao Sun,Ling Tong,Anran Chen,Jin Zhang,Rongfei Wang,Chong Wang,Yu Yang 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2018 NANO Vol.13 No.5

The Quantum Dots/Graphene (QDs/GR) composites have attracted numerous interests caused by its unique physical and chemical properties in past few decades. The shortages of the single QD and graphene materials could be remedied by the synergistic effects from QDs/GR composite materials; meanwhile, some unique phenomena and superior physical properties were also produced. The QDs/GR composites processed better photocatalytic activities, higher photon capture abilities and excellent optical responsibilities. Therefore, they were widely applied in various techniques. Here, we reviewed and discussed recent research progresses about the QDs/GR composites and focused on their industrial preparation and commercial applications. Among these synthetic methods, ion beam sputtering deposition (IBSD) and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) were discussed in detail because they could be directly applied in commercial industry for preparing size-tunable quantum dots. In another part, the applications of the QDs/GR composites were also discussed, the advanced physical and chemical properties promoted these composites to have numerous potential for being applied in photodetectors, lithium ion batteries, solar cells, supercapacitors and other devices. The appropriate synthetic method for QDs/GR materials is highly dependent on the requirements of its applications. We firmly believe that the direct synthesis technique of ideal QDs/GR composite for specific applications is a challenge and research emphasis for scientist and engineers in future.

New Robust Stability Criteria for Lur’e Systems with Time-varying Delays and Sector-bounded Nonlinearities

        Wen-Yong Duan,Yan Li,Jian Chen,Baozhu Du 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.2

This paper deals with a robust stability problem for uncertain Lur’e systems with time-varying delays and sector-bounded nonlinearities. An improved delay-dependent robust stability criterion is proposed via a modified Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) approach. Firstly, a modified LKF consisting of delay-dependent matrices and double-integral items under two delay subintervals is constructed, thereby making full use of the delay and its derivative information. Secondly, the stability criteria can be expressed as convex linear matrix inequality (LMI) via the properties of quadratic function application. Thirdly, to further reduce the conservatism of stability criteria, the quadratic generalized free-weighting matrix inequality (QGFMI) is used. Finally, some numerical examples, including the Lur’e system and the general linear time-delayed system, are presented to show the improvement of the proposed approach.

Further Results on the Robust Stability for Neutral-type Lur’e System with Mixed Delays and Sector-bounded Nonlinearities

        Wen-Yong Duan,Xiao-Rong Fu,Xiao-Dong Yang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2016 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.14 No.2

This paper is concerned with the robust stability for neutral-type Lur’e system with mixed time-varyingdelays. By combining the delay-fraction theory with the reciprocally convex method andWirtinger-based inequalitytechnology, some new delay-derivative-dependent stability criteria are derived via a modified Lyapunov-Krasovskiifunctional (LKF) approach. The criteria are less conservative than some previous ones.

Improved Sufficient LMI Conditions for the Robust Stability of Timedelayed Neutral-type Lur’e Systems

        Wen-Yong Duan,Baozhu Du,Yan Li,Cuifeng Shen,Xuelai Zhu,Xiaofan Li,Jian Chen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2018 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.16 No.5

In this paper, we focus on the problem of the absolute and robustly absolute stability for the neutraltype Lur’e system with time-varying delay. By combining the piecewise analysis theory with extended doubleintegral and Wirtinger-based inequalities technology, some new delay-dependent stability criteria for the absolute and robustly absolute stability are proposed via Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) approach. The stability conditions can be expressed as convex linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework, which can be solved by using standard LMI convex optimization solvers. The criteria proposed in this paper are less conservative than some previous ones. Finally, some numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on vacuum deposited small molecules have undergone significant progress since the first efficient double-layered OLEDs were reported in 1987 by Tang and Van Slyke. Recently, solution processed small molecular OLEDs are also drawing more and more research attention, as such a technology combines advantages of the facile synthesis of small molecules and the low-cost solution process like polymers. The performance of OLEDs made by solution process is gradually catching up with their vacuum deposited counterparts. This feature article will review the device structures adopted to achieve high performance solution processed OLEDs, the development of solution processable small molecules, and the comparisons of the different nature of the films and devices fabricated by solution-process or by vacuum deposition. Finally, the prospects and remaining problems will be discussed.

Graphic Abstract

Recent developments, prospects and remaining problems of organic light-emitting diodes based on solution processable small molecules are reviewed, with comparisons of the films and devices by solution-process or vacuum deposition.

Incremental fuzzy clustering based on a fuzzy scatter matrix

        Yongli Liu,Hengda Wang,Tianyi Duan,Jingli Chen,Hao Chao 한국정보처리학회 2019 Journal of information processing systems Vol.15 No.2

For clustering large-scale data, which cannot be loaded into memory entirely, incremental clustering algorithmsare very popular. Usually, these algorithms only concern the within-cluster compactness and ignore thebetween-cluster separation. In this paper, we propose two incremental fuzzy compactness and separation (FCS)clustering algorithms, Single-Pass FCS (SPFCS) and Online FCS (OFCS), based on a fuzzy scatter matrix. Firstly, we introduce two incremental clustering methods called single-pass and online fuzzy C-meansalgorithms. Then, we combine these two methods separately with the weighted fuzzy C-means algorithm, sothat they can be applied to the FCS algorithm. Afterwards, we optimize the within-cluster matrix and betweenclustermatrix simultaneously to obtain the minimum within-cluster distance and maximum between-clusterdistance. Finally, large-scale datasets can be well clustered within limited memory. We implemented experimentson some artificial datasets and real datasets separately. And experimental results show that, compared withSPFCM and OFCM, our SPFCS and OFCS are more robust to the value of fuzzy index m and noise.

Study on the Alternating Flow Hydraulics and Its New Potential Application in the Geotechnical Testing Field

Yong Sang,Ying Han,Fuhai Duan 한국유체기계학회 2016 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.9 No.3

The alternating flow hydraulics (AFH) had demonstrated the unique features in the past. One of the most well-known inventions was the hydraulic machine-gun synchronizer, which had become the standard equipment of airplane during World War I. The studies on the AFH between 1960 and 1980 had trigged many researchers’ interests and reached the summit. The disadvantages of the AFH like low efficiency and cooling difficulty had prevented the further development. Few people are engaged in studying the AFH at present. However, the unique characteristics of the AFH inspire the researchers to continuously explore the new special suitable applications. The overviews of the AFH and the new potential application in the geotechnical testing field have been discussed in this paper. First, the research results of the AFH in the past have been summarized. Then, the classifications of the AFH have been introduced in detail according to the working principle, the number of hydraulic transmission pipelines and the mode of input energy. The advantages and the disadvantages of the AFH have been discussed. A novel potential suitable application in the soil test field has been presented at last. The detailed designing ideas of a new dynamic trixial instrument have been given, which will be a more innovational and energy-saving plan according to the current studies. A series of simulation experiments have been done. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme for the new dynamic trixial instrument is feasible. The paper work will also give some inspirations in the reciprocating motion control system.

FOXK1 regulates epithelial-mesenchymal transition and radiation sensitivity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma via the JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway

        Duan Liqun,Huang Jinlong,Zhang Yong,Pi Guoliang,Ying Xiaofang,Zeng Fanyu,Hu Desheng,Ma Jia 한국유전학회 2023 Genes & Genomics Vol.45 No.6

Background Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the most common head and neck tumor in China. Forkhead box (FOX) proteins have 19 subfamilies, which can maintain cell metabolism, regulate cell cycle and cell growth, etc. FOXK1 is a member of the FOX family, and studies have found that FOXK1 is closely related to tumors. Objective This experiment aims to study the effects of FOXK1 interference on proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and radiosensitivity, by regulating the Janus kinas/signal translator and activator of the transfer 3 (JAK/STAT3) pathway. Methods The expression of FOXK1 was detected via immunohistochemistry using clinical nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues and adjacent tissues. The relationship between FOXK1 expression and tumor stage was subsequently evaluated. The colony formation rate was calculated through the colony formation experiment. Cell apoptosis and cell cycle distribution were detected using flow cytometry, while cell invasion was detected using the Transwell method. The number of cells in the nucleus of each group after 30 min, 4 h, and 24 h of radiotherapy with the 2 Gy dose was counted using immunofluorescence under γ-H2AX focal points of a laser confocal microscope. Results FOXK1 is clearly expressed in the patients’ cancer tissues. The expression of FOXK1 was significantly correlated with the patient’s sex. FOXK1 interference or Peficitinib can upregulate the apoptosis rate of 5-8 F and CNE-2 cells; increase the G2 phase of cells; and inhibit the invasion, migration, and EMT of cells. At the same time, FOXK1 interference can downregulate the protein expression of p-JAK1, p-JAK2, and p-STAT3 in cells. Interference from FOXK1 or Peficitinib alone can reduce the rate of cell colony formation under different radiation doses, and enhance the green fluorescence intensity of γ-H2AX in the nucleus after 4 and 24 h of the 2 Gy dose of radiotherapy. These results are optimal when FOXK1 interference and Peficitinib are used together. Conclusion FOXK1 interference in NPC cells can regulate EMT through the JAK/STAT3 signal pathway, enhance the radiosensitivity of cells, and thus inhibit tumor cell progression.
