This paper experimentally verified a previously proposed analytical model of maximum operating frequency of class-D ZVS inverter. The proposed model included the linearized drain-source parasitic capacitance and was usable at any duty ratio. The verification of the model was once conducted by simulation with a 650V/30A SiC-MOSFET spice model before, and in this paper the experimental verification was further conducted by PCB circuit, resulting in good consistency.

Background: Preoperative 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-based chemoradiotherapy is a standard treatment for locally advanced colorectal cancer (CRC). However, CRC cells often develop chemoradiation resistance (CRR). Recent studies have shown that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) plays critical roles in a myriad of biological processes and human diseases, as well as chemotherapy resistance. Since the roles of lncRNAs in 5-FU-based CRR in human CRC cells remain unknown, they were investigated in this study. Materials and Methods: A 5-FU-based concurrent CRR cell model was established using human CRC cell line HCT116. Microarray expression profiling of lncRNAs and mRNAs was undertaken in parental HCT116 and 5-FU-based CRR cell lines. Results: In total, 2,662 differentially expressed lncRNAs and 2,398 mRNAs were identified in 5-FU-based CRR HCT116 cells when compared with those in parental HCT116. Moreover, 6 lncRNAs and 6 mRNAs found to be differentially expressed were validated by quantitative real time PCR (qRT-PCR). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis for the differentially expressed mRNAs indicated involvement of many, such as Jak-STAT, PI3K-Akt and NF-kappa B signaling pathways. To better understand the molecular basis of 5-FU-based CRR in CRC cells, correlated expression networks were constructed based on 8 intergenic lncRNAs and their nearby coding genes. Conclusions: Changes in lncRNA expression are involved in 5-FU-based CRR in CRC cells. These findings may provide novel insight for the prognosis and prediction of response to therapy in CRC patients.
Solution and analysis of VL combined seal lubrication model under the effect of wear

Through the finite element calculation of VL combined seal models under different wear conditions, contact pressure distributions of models are obtained. Considering the coupling effect between seal deformation and lubricating oil film, a mathematical model of elastohydrodynamic lubrication for VL combined seal is established. Based on the theory of small deformation, the elastic deformation of VL composite seal under high pressure is obtained by the deformation influence coefficient matrix method. Considering the influence of sealing surface wear and surface roughness, the oil film thickness distribution and oil film pressure distribution of VL combined seal are solved by the finite difference method. The analysis results show the wear of VL combined seal, the decrease of viscosity, the increase of roughness and rotational speed can raise the thickness and pressure of lubricating oil film. The correctness of numerical simulation is verified by experimentally measuring the friction torque and leakage rate of seal.

Objectives. Reactive oxygen species in the stria vascularis (SV) of the cochlea may be involved in the pathogenesis of sen-sorineural hearing loss. However, the effects of oxidative stress on SV endothelial cells (SV-ECs) remain largely un-known, and no feasible in vitro cell culture model exists for the functional study of SV-ECs. Methods. We isolated primary SV-ECs from the SV of neonatal mice. The apoptosis-reducing effects of fibronectin in SV-ECs cultured with serum-free medium were determined using β-galactosidase staining and flow cytometry. SV-ECsincubated in serum-free medium were treated with various H2O2 concentrations to evaluate the effects of H2O2 ontheir viability. The secretome of SV-ECs treated with or without H2O2 (100 μM or 500 μM) was analyzed using high-resolution mass spectrometry. The function of the SV-EC secretome was evaluated by a macrophage assay. Results. We successfully isolated and characterized the SV-ECs. Treatment with H2O2 at concentrations up to 500 μM for2 hours and further incubation with serum-free medium in plates precoated with fibronectin showed no significanteffect on apoptosis. Compared to the control SV-ECs, the amount of differential proteins in the secretome of SV-ECsstimulated with 500 μM H2O2 was much higher than in those treated with 100 μM H2O2. Kyoto Encyclopedia ofGenes and Genomes and Gene Ontology analyses suggested that the proteins differentially expressed in SV-ECstreated with 500 μM H2O2 were involved in the regulation of multiple signaling pathways and cellular processes. Thesecretome of H2O2-stimulated SV-ECs exhibited significant pro-inflammatory effects on macrophages. Conclusion. We successfully established an in vitro serum-free culture method, identified the differential proteins releasedby oxidative stress-induced ECs and their functions, and revealed the pro-inflammatory effects of the secretome ofH2O2-stimulated SV-ECs. Therefore, SV-ECs might elicit immunoregulatory effects on bystander cells in the microen-vironment of oxidative stress-induced cochlea, especially cochlear macrophages.
A Neutralized Korea? The North-South Rapprochement and China`s Korea Policy

It was China`s performance in Korea in the early 1950s that earned the People`s Republic its great-power status, and it is here where Beijing sees the charge that China is set on becoming a global power and a regional "hegemon" will be tested again. To maintain close relations with both Koreas simultaneously is a dominant goal in China`s Korea policy, but Beijing`s Korea policy now appears to be conducted under its dual strategic view of zero-sum competition regarding China-US/Japan relations and non-zero-sum cooperation with the two Koreas. Beijing and Seoul agree on many major issues, including Korean reunification, but not on Pyongyang- Washington detente. China may become increasingly concerned about the future orientation of ROK-us military alliance and will pursue a proactive North Korea policy in the coming years, especially in the economic area. China does not, however, see its relations with two Koreas as a seesaw contest between the North and South and will continue its efforts in maintaining and enhancing stable relations with both North and South Korea. Beijing`s long-term strategic concerns is not whether there will be two Koreas or one reunified Korea, but how to reduce US influence there. Although China prefers a status quo on the peninsula, it may have little choice but to accept a unified Korea-but would not tolerate a unified Korea under US leadership. To Beijing, China`s national security requires a strategically neutralized Korean peninsula.

A new image-processing method based on block-gradient segmentation was proposed to measure the volume fraction ofmechanical twins in metallographic images. The processing results showed that this automatic method could be used forrapid and effective measure of the twin-volume fractions of twinning-induced plasticity steels in metallographic images underdifferent strain conditions. The entire processing time for each image is relatively short, which would benefit researchersprocessing a large number of metallographic images. This method may pave a way to develop a simple, effective plug-in tomeasure rapidly the twin-volume fractions in the software for metallographic observations, and it would be beneficial forpreliminary analysis of microstructural evolutions and subsequent characterization of mechanical twins by high-resolutionmicroscopy using electron microscopy.

Unbalanced and distorted grid voltages cause the grid side current of a current source PWM rectifier to be heavily distorted. They can also cause the DC-link current to fluctuate with a huge amplitude. In order to enhance the performance of a current-source PWM rectifier under unbalanced and harmonic grid voltage conditions, a mathematical model of a current-source PWM rectifier is established and a flexible multi-objective control strategy is proposed to control the DC-link current and grid-current. The fundamental positive/negative sequence, 5th and 7th order harmonic components of the grid voltage are first separated with the proposed control strategy. The grid current reference are optimized based on three objectives: 1) sinusoidal and symmetrical grid current, 2) sinusoidal grid current and elimination of the DC-current 2nd order fluctuations, and 3) elimination of the DC-current 2nd and 6th order fluctuations. To avoid separation of the grid current components, a multi-frequency proportional-resonant controller is applied to control the fundamental positive/negative sequence, 5th and 7th order harmonic current. Finally, experimental results verify the effectiveness of proposed control strategy.
