A chemiluminescent method with gold nanoparticles for determination of vitamin C has been presented. Gold nanoparticles highly increased chemiluminescence intensity of lumimol-H2O2 system by its catalytic effect. The gold nanoparticles enhanced chemiluminescent method is applicable for the determination of an antioxidant such as vitamin C. When vitamin C was introduced to the lumimol system with gold nanoparticles, chemiluminescence intensity was reduced with the concentration of the added vitamin C. Low concentrated vitamin C solutions in the range of 1×10(-3)-1×10(-9) M were produced reduced chemiluminescence intensity of lumimol-H2O2 with gold nanoparticles system.

<P>We present the enhancement of luminescence of europium complex, Eu(3+)-ciprofloxacin (CIP), in the presence of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) for the CIP determination. The increment of the luminescence intensity of the Eu(3+)-CIP complex with Ag NPs was obtained due to the transfer of resonance energy to the fluorophores through the interaction of the excited-state fluorophores and surface plasmon electron in the metal nano surface. The luminescence intensity of Eu3+ was enhanced by complexation with CIP at 614 nm after excitation at 373 nm corresponding to the 5D0-7F2 transitions of Eu3+ ion. Based on the above phenomenon, a sensitive and rapid spectrofluorimetric method has been developed for the CIP determination. Linearity of the calibration curve was obtained in the range of 2.0 x 10(-10)-1.0 x 10(-8) g mL(-1) with correlation coefficient of 0.9992. The limit of detection of CIP was found to be 1.9 x 10(-11) g mL(-1) with the relative standard deviation (RSD) of 1.19% for 5 replicate measurements of 5.0 x 10(-7) g mL(-1) of CIP. The present method has been successfully applied for CIP determination in pharmaceutical and biological samples.</P>

A rapid and sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method using flow-injection (FI) has been developed for the determination of mandelic acid which is based on the enhancement of mandelic acid to the CL intensity of ${Ru(bipy)_{3}}^{2+}$-Ce(IV) system. The enhancement effect was dependent on the concentration of mandelic acid, based on which, CL system was established for the determination of mandelic acid. The concentrations of ${Ru(bipy)_{3}}^{2+}$+, Ce(IV), and $H_2SO_4$ were optimized. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the linear range and detection limit are 1.46-342.0 ${\mu}g/ml$ and 0.072 ${\mu}g/ml$, respectively. The correlation coefficient (R) was 0.99732. The utility of this method was demonstrated by determining mandelic acid in capsules and human urine sample.

Silver nanoparticle highly increased chemiluminescence intensity of lumimol- H(2)O(2) system by its catalytic role. The silver nanoparticle enhanced chemiluminescent method is applicable for the determination of an amino acid such as cysteine. When cysteine was introduced to the lumimol system with silver nanoparticles, chemiluminescence intensity was reduced with the concentration of the added cysteine. Low concentrated cysteine solutions in the range of 1 × 10(-3) - 1 × 10(-7) M were produced reduced chemiluminescence intensity of lumimol-H(2)O(2) silver nanoparticle system.
