<P>Sound insulation between households is properly ensured to provide a quiet residential environment in apartments. The legal requirements for sound insulation in apartments in Korea are set to meet the wall’s minimum thickness or sound insulation performance. When construction companies choose the walls that satisfy thethickness in the standards of boundary walls between households, it is difficult to know the sound insulation performance. In this study, the sound insulation performance of reinforced concrete walls is predicted according to the wall thickness criteria and analyzed through field measurements. In newly built apartments, the reinforced concrete wall’s sound insulation performance(R'w) is 56 - 66 dB, which is a similar level of the international criterion. And the sound insulation performance of the reinforced concrete wall according to thickness standards is similar to sound insulation performance standardsof Korea.</P>
Experimental Study on the Structural Safety of the Corn Harvester Attached to a Tractor

In South Korea, agricultural mechanization has been carried out in paddy field, but not in the upland field during recent decades. Among crops such as root vegetables, leafy vegetables from upland field, corn is used as forage for livestock as well as food for men. The corn harvester needs to be developed to replace men’s labor in rural area to follow the recent needs in the farm industry. The corn harvester is comprised of three parts such as cutting part, feeding part and pick-up part. The feeding part is so long for cut corns to be delivered from the cutting part to the pick-up part. Structurally, the load from the long moment arm is likely to be big. Thus, the setup to measure the stress on the duct of the feeding part was configured with the data acquisition system. The strain gages were attached on several points that seem to be loaded a lot comparatively. The stress was measured and the measured stresses were divided by the yield stress to get the safety factor. And then, we made sure the safety factors were above 1 on the all points. In conclusion, the feeding part of the corn harvester which convey the cut corn from the cutting part from the pick-up part can be regarded to be made safe structurally.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The phototrophic euglenophyte <I>Eutreptiella eupharyngea</I> often causes blooms in the coastal waters of many countries, but its mode of nutrition has not been assessed. This species has previously been considered as exclusively auxotrophic. To explore whether <I>E. eupharyngea</I> is a mixotrophic species, the protoplasm of <I>E. eupharyngea</I> cells were examined using light, epifluorescence, and transmission electron microscopy after eubacteria, the cyanobacterium <I>Synechococcus</I> sp., and diverse algal species were provided as potential prey. Furthermore, the ingestion rates of <I>E. eupharyngea</I> KR on eubacteria or <I>Synechococcus</I> sp. as a function of prey concentration were measured. In addition, grazing by natural populations of euglenophytes on natural populations of eubacteria in Masan Bay was investigated. This study is the first to report that <I>E. eupharyngea</I> is a mixotrophic species. Among the potential prey organisms offered, <I>E. eupharyngea</I> fed only on eubacteria and <I>Synechococcus</I> sp., and the maximum ingestion rates of these two organisms measured in the laboratory were 5.7 and 0.7 cells predator<SUP>−1</SUP> h<SUP>−1</SUP>, respectively. During the field experiments, the maximum ingestion rates and grazing impacts of euglenophytes, including <I>E. eupharyngea</I>, on natural populations of eubacteria were 11.8 cells predator<SUP>−1</SUP> h<SUP>−1</SUP> and 1.228 d<SUP>−1</SUP>, respectively. 견관절 충돌 증후군 진단을 위한 극상근 출구 검사법의 평가

목 적:견관절 충돌 증후군 진단을 위한 극상근 출구 검사법을 비교하고 평가하여 효과적인 검사법을 적용하는 데 도움을 주고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법:2016년 11월 1일부터 1개월 동안 어깨의 통증을 원인으로 본원 정형외과를 찾아 단순 X-선 검사를 시행한 환자 가운데 수술 및 견관절 이상 등으로 인하여 형태학적 변형이 없는 20명을 대상으로 영상정보 이용에 관한 동의를 구한 후 연구를 진행하였다. 극상근 출구 검사법을 정중 관상면과 검출기가 이루는 각도에 따라 25°, 45°, 65°로 나누고, 중심 X-선 각도는 0°, 15°, 30°로 변화를 주어 검사하였으며 각도의 변화에 따라 5회 검사하여 비교하고 분석하였다. 결 과:정중 관상면과 검출기의 각도를 25°, 중심 X-선 각도는 하방 15°로 입사한 방법이 9.30±1.98 점으로 견봉과 쇄골이 가장 겹치지 않았다(p<0.05). 정중 관상면과 검출기의 각도를 45°, 중심 X-선 각도는 하방 15°로 입사한 방법은 10.40±1.90 점으로 견봉 궁의 구별이 용이하였고, 10.90±1.62 점으로 견갑골와 오구돌기가 잘 겹쳐졌으며, 9.40±2.26 점으로 상완골을 제외한 견봉하 공간이 넓게 평가되었다(p<0.05). 결 론:견봉돌기의 형태 및 견봉과 상완골의 거리 등을 진단하는 극상근 출구 검사법을 정중 관상면이 검출기와 45°를 이루고, 중심 X-선 각도는 하방 15°로 입사하는 방법으로 적용하여 검사할 때 가장 적절한 영상을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. Purpose:To compare and evaluate supraspinatus outlet view findings for the diagnosis of shoulder joint impingement syndrome, with an aim of helping apply an effective test method. Materials and Methods:The study was carried out targeting 20 subjects who no underwent surgery or had no morphological deformation due to shoulder joint problems, among the patients who visited the Orthopedics at this hospital because of shoulder pain and received the general X-ray test, for a month starting November 1, 2016. Before the study started, the prior approval to use image information was obtained from the subjects. The supraspinatus outlet view was divided into 25°, 45°, and 65° according to the angle determined by the midcoronal plane and the detector, and the angle of the central X-ray beam was set to different angles: 0°, 15°, and 30°. The study was conducted a total of five times, and the findings were compared and analyzed. Result:When the angle between the midcoronal plane and the detector was 25° and the angle of the central X-ray beam was caudal 15°, the result was 9.30 ± 1.98 points in which the acromion and the clavicle were not superimposed most (p <0.05). When the angle between the midcoronal plane and the detector was 45° and the angle of the central X-ray beam was caudal 15°, the result was 10.40± 1.90 points in which the acromial arch was easily distinguished; 10.90±1.62 points in which the scapula and coracoid process were easily superimposed; and 9.40±2.26 points in which the subacromial space except the humerus was evaluated to be large (p<0.05). Conclusion:It was evaluated that the most proper image is obtained when the supraspinatus outlet view, which diagnoses the morphology of the acromial process and the distance between the acromion and the humerus, is applied in a manner that the angle between the midcoronal plane and the detector is 45° and the angle of the central X-ray beam is caudal 15°.
