Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Decursin, Prantschimgin and Their Derivatives

Yan Xia,민경훈,Kyeong Lee 대한화학회 2009 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.30 No.1

The synthesis of coumarin-based natural products and their derivatives is described. In vitro MDR reversal activities of the synthesized compounds were evaluated in P-glycoprotein over-expressing human sarcoma cell line MES-SA/DX5. Some of the coumarin derivatives were found to show potent MDR reversal activity. In particular, pyridyl derivative (15e) exhibited more potency than verapamil.

Controlled Secure Direct Communication by Using GHZ Entangled State

        Yan XIA,Shou ZHANG,Chang-Bao FU,엄정인,Feng-Yue LI,연규황 한국물리학회 2005 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.47 No.3

We present a controlled secure direct communication protocol by using Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) entangled state via swapping quantum entanglement and local unitary operations. Since messages transferred only by using local operations and a public channel after entangled states are successfully distributed, this protocol can protect the communication against a destroying-travel-qubit-type attack. This scheme can also be generalized to a multi-party controlsystem.

Review : Targeting Multidrug Resistance with Small Molecules for Cancer Therapy

        ( Yan Xia ),( Kyeong Lee ) 한국응용약물학회 2010 Biomolecules & Therapeutics(구 응용약물학회지) Vol.18 No.4

Conventional cancer chemotherapy is seriously limited by tumor cells exhibiting multidrug resistance (MDR), which is caused by changes in the levels or activity of membrane transporters that mediate energy-dependent drug efflux and of proteins that affect drug metabolism and/or drug action. Cancer scientists and oncologists have worked together for some time to understand anticancer drug resistance and develop pharmacological strategies to overcome such resistance. Much focus has been on the reversal of the MDR phenotype by inhibition of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) drug transporters. ABC transporters are a family of transporter proteins that mediate drug resistance and low drug bioavailability by pumping various drugs out of cells at the expense of ATP hydrolysis. Many inhibitors of MDR transporters have been identified, and though some are currently undergoing clinical trials, none are in clinical use. Herein, we briefly review the status of MDR in human cancer, explore the pathways of MDR in chemotherapy, and outline recent advances in the design and development of MDR modulators.

Probabilistic teleportation of an arbitrary three-particle state via a partial entangled four-particle state and a three-particle GHZ state

Yan Xia,Shou Zhang,Chang-bao Fu,엄정인,연규황 한국물리학회 2005 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.46 No.2

We propose a scheme to teleport an arbitrary and unknown three-particle state by using a nonmaximally four-particle entangled state and a non-maximally three-particle GHZ state from a sender to either one of two receivers. We show that teleportation can be successfully realized with a certain probability by performing three Bell-states measurements on the sender’s side and by introducing a Hadamard operation on the receiver’s side conditioned on an appropriate unitary transformation on the other possible receiver’s side We propose a scheme to teleport an arbitrary and unknown three-particle state by using a nonmaximally four-particle entangled state and a non-maximally three-particle GHZ state from a sender to either one of two receivers. Innovative Teaching Via Sustainable Vocational Education with an Improved Ant Colony Algorithm

Yan Xia 대한전자공학회 2023 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.12 No.5

Although students’ test scores provide an important reference for teaching and learning, research scholars still need to objectively analyze the scores. Under the current situation where English performance of vocational education students does not achieve satisfactory results, this research uses a clustering algorithm to improve on the ant colony optimization algorithm. This ant colony clustering analysis algorithm is improved by incorporating two optimization strategies, and the test scores of vocational education students are introduced as the original data for cluster analysis. The optimal number of ant colonies is nine, when the three error values of the two ant colony algorithms are minimized. The convergence values of the three ant colony algorithms are smallest when there are 200 training cycles or when the training batch size is 1000, resulting in upgraded ant colony clustering algorithm convergence values of 0.498 and 1.523, respectively. The performance of the student evaluation model combined with the ant colony clustering optimization algorithm improved, followed by CF, FOA, and BP. KNN had the worst performance. Data mining on student performance can be done via research that can provide specialized advice on students' issues.

Quantum Dialogue by Using the GHZ State

Yan XIA,Shou ZHANG,Chang-Bao FU,엄정인,연규황,홍석경 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.48 No.I

We present a quantum dialogue protocol by using the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state. In this paper, we point out that the ‘quantum dialogue’ communication scheme recently introduced by Nguyen can be eavesdropped on under an intercept-and-resend attack. We also give a revised control mode to detect this attack. Hence, within the present version two users can exchange their secret messages securely and simultaneously, and the efficiency of information transmission can be successfully increased. Proposal for a Wavelength-Independent Optical Sensor Based on an Asymmetric Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

        Yanxia Luo,Rui Yin,Wei Ji,Qingjie Huang,Zisu Gong,Jingyao Li 한국광학회 2020 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.4 No.6

A wavelength-independent optical sensor based on an asymmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometer (AMZI) is proposed. The optical sensor based on an AMZI is very sensitive to wavelength, and wavelength drift will lead to measurement error. The optical sensor is compensated to reduce its dependence on wavelength. The insensitivity of the optical sensor to wavelength mainly depends on the compensation structure, which is composed of an AMZI cascaded with another AMZI and can compensate the wavelength drift. The influence of wavelength drift on the optical sensor can be counteracted by carefully designing the size parameters of the compensation structure. When the wavelength changes from 1549.9 nm to 1550.1 nm, the error after compensation can be lower than 0.066%. Furthermore, the effect of fabrication tolerance on compensation results is analyzed. The proposed compensation method can also be used to compensate the drift of other parameters such as temperature, and can be applied to the compensation of other interference-based optical devices.

Circ_0005280 Protects Human Lens Epithelial Cells against H2O2-induced Apoptosis and Oxidative Stress though miR-326/PLCD3 Axis

        Yanxia Zhu,Yan Cheng,Linli Ma 한국생물공학회 2023 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.28 No.1

Circular RNAs have been revealed to play a vital role in the pathogenesis of ocular diseases. Herein, the goal of this work was to investigate the role of circ_0005280 in the development of age-related cataract (ARC). Levels of genes and proteins were detected by quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction and Western blot. SRA01/ 04 cells in experimental group were exposed to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Cell survival was analyzed using cell counting kit-8 assay, EDU (5-ethynyl-2’-deoxyuridine) assay, flow cytometry, and Western blot, respectively. The levels of glutathione (GSH) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were detected using commercial kits. The dualluciferase reporter assay was used to identify the target relationship between miR-326 and circ_0005280 or PLCD3 (phospholipase C Delta 3). Circ_0005280 was lowly expressed in lenses of ARC patients and H2O2-induced SRA01/04 cells. Circ_0005280 up-regulation attenuated H2O2-evoked oxidative stress evidenced by the reduction of GSH and SOD, inhibition of cell proliferation, and promotion of cell apoptosis in SRA01/04 cells. Mechanistically, circ_0005280 directly targeted miR-326 to up-regulate the expression of its target PLCD3. Further rescue experiments suggested that miR-326 overexpression reversed the inhibitory effects of circ_0005280 on H2O2-stlimualted SRA01/04 cell injury. Moreover, miR-326 inhibition led to the inhibition of cell death and oxidative stress in H2O2- chanllgended SRA01/04 cells, which were abolished by PLCD3 up-regulation. Circ_0005280 protected human lens epithelial cells against H2O2-induced apoptosis and oxidative stress though miR-326/PLCD3 axis, suggesting a novel insight into the pathology of ARC.

Simulation analysis on the separation characteristics and motion behavior of particles in a hydrocyclone

        Yanxia Xu,Bo Tang,Xingfu Song,Ze Sun,Jianguo Yu 한국화학공학회 2018 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.35 No.12

We evaluated the effect of particle size and associated dynamics on a hydrocyclone separation process in order to understand the movement of the particle trajectories inside the hydrocyclone via numerical analysis, with particles of acid hydrolysis residues discharged in TiO2 production via the sulfate method as a case study. The values obtained from the numerical simulation were successfully compared with those from experimental tests in the literature, allowing a description of the dynamics of the particles, their acting forces, and their relevant properties together with separation efficiency. The results showed that particle motion is jointly controlled by the drag force, the pressure gradient force and the centrifugal force. With increasing particle size, the influence of the drag force is weakened, whereas that of the centrifugal force and pressure gradient is strengthened. Factors including particle density, slurry viscosity, and inlet slurry flow rate also contribute to a clear and useful understanding of particle motion behavior in the hydrocyclone as a method for improving the separation efficiency.
