The NCT Program, in which the present JT-60U is being modified into a superconducting coil machine, is discussed under nationwide collaboration in Japan. Its mission is to establish high-beta steady-state operation for DEMO and to contribute to ITER. NCT is designed to have potential to investigate such research.
Unconventional Superconductivity in f-Electron Systems

We report pressure-induced superconductivity in antiferromagnetic cerium compounds and a ferromagnetic uranium compound, focusing on the relation between the superconducting state and the Fermi surface instability in CeRhIn5 and the huge upper critical eld Hc2 in CeIrSi3 without inversion symmetry in the crystal structure. The pairing interaction is well correlated with ferromagnetism, as well as antiferromagnetism or antiferromagnetic uctuations. In the recently discovered superconductor NpPd5Al2, superconductivity is found to be located in the vicinity of an antiferromagnetically ordered state. The upper critical field Hc2 is strongly supressed by the large paramagneic eect, and the corresponding magnetization curve indicates a step-like increase at Hc2, producing a first-order phase transition. SINGLE PHASE PWM INVERTER WITH CURRENT MINOR CONTROL LOOP

This paper proposes a single phase sinusoidal voltage inverter with current minor loop using high speed switching devices such as Bi-MOS or IGBT.<br/> Following new methods are successfully combined and adopted to get high performance:<br/> (a) A high speed current minor control loop is given for the Inverter to constrain inverter current within SOA of switching devices, and as the reference of this current loop, following signals are given to get sinusoidal output voltage.<br/> (1) Current for the parallel element of the<br/> output filter<br/> (ii) Feedforward of the load current (iii) Voltage adjusting and stabilizing signal which is the output of voltage controller<br/> (b) Micro processor control using the dead beat algorithm is developed for sinusoidal output voltage Inverter. This system consists of two dead beat controllers for current and voltage. By using the dead beat control, the inverter current and the output voltage settle with one sampling period.

Here we report photon antibunching and magneto-spectroscopy of a single electron spin bound to a fluorine donor in a ZnMgSe/ZnSe QW nanostructure. The results confirm the presence of an optically controllable lambda-system which allows the optical manipulation of the electron bound to the neutral fluorine donor as a spin qubit. Moreover, we achieved optical spin pumping of the qubit by resonant excitation of each of the four allowed transitions of the lambda system. We verified the spin transfer by detecting single photons when the bound electron decays into the opposite spin state. The results presented here constitutes an elegant initialization and the read-out procedure of the electron spin qubit bound to a fluorine donor which are prerequisite for coherent optical control of an impurity based solidstate spin qubit.
GENETICAL STUDIES ON NATIVE CHICKENS IN INDONESIA

Phylogenetic analyses were carried out using four Indonesian native chicken breeds; Kampung, Bangkok, Pelung and Kedu. Gene frequencies of four blood group (A, B, D and E) and eight electrophoretic loci (akp, Akp-2, Es-1, Amy-1, Alb, Tf, Pas and Pa-1) were examined. Geographical and breed specific trends in the gene frequencies were not found in the local population of Kampung breed or in four native breeds. The values of average heterozygosity were estimated as 0.35-0.45. Genetic distances among the local populations of Kampung breed and other native breeds were comparatively small. In a cluster analysis, the Bangkok breed and Kampung E population showed distance from another cluster. The coefficient of gene differentiation for local populations of Kampung breed was estimated as 0.099.
A New Resistor Series For Chip/Network Applications

A new series of resistor compositions has been developed for chip applications. The new series, DuPont 00X0 $quot;INVAROX$quot; has been designed to give well rounded performance on chip resistors of all existing sixes including low TCR effects on small resistors. Because of their low process sensitivity, the 00X0 resistors can also be advantageously used in resistor network applications. To ensure good overall performance, we devised some screening tests that allowed us to easily visualize and understand the effects of composition and processing on resistor performance. The thorough screening of experimental compositions was a key in ensuring that no member of the series has severely limiting flaws. In this paper, we will discuss the development concepts for the new series, our screening tests for experimental compositions, and aspects of performance from a large and growing database.

Experiment on Behavior of Charged Particles in Cusp Direct Energy Converter for D-3He Fusion

It is necessary to separate, discriminate and guide electrons, thermal ions, and fusion protons created from a D-3He reactor in order to convert kinetic to electric power directly. A cusp direct energy converter (CUSPDEC) is expected to achieve the above-mentioned role. This paper presents simulation experiments of CUSPDEC. The separation of ions and electrons is done and the kinetic energy of ions separated from electrons is converted to electricity.true
