        Comprehensive evaluation of high-temperature sintering behavior of sea sand vanadia-titania magnetite based on grey relational analysis

        Sea sand vanadia-titania magnetite is difficult to pelletize, and it is difficult for iron and steel enterprises touse it as a raw material for ironmaking. In this paper, the high-temperature physicochemical characteristics and sinteringbehavior of sea sand vanadia-titania magnetite were comprehensively studied and systematically evaluated. Thehigh-temperature metallurgical physicochemical characteristics of different iron ore powders and under different experimentalconditions were studied by the micro-sintering experimental system. The high-temperature sintering indexeswere comprehensively evaluated by the grey correlation analysis, and the influence of sea sand ore on sintering performancewas investigated by sintering pot experiment. The research results show that the high-temperature sinteringcharacteristics of sea sand vanadia-titania magnetite were the worst, and the grey correlation degree was the lowest. The high-temperature sintering characteristics of sintered blocks with sea sand ore were affected by changing the basicityand the addition amount of sea sand ore. When the basicity was 0.8 and the addition amount of sea sand ore was15 wt%, the evaluation index of grey relational analysis was the best. The vertical sintering speed and tumble indexwere slightly reduced by adding sea sand ore, but the sinter yield was improved and the particle size distribution of sinterwas optimized. The experimental results provide a certain data reference for the actual production of sinter with seasand vanadia-titania magnetite.

      • Enhanced Phase II Detoxification Contributes to Beneficial Effects of Dietary Restriction as Revealed by Multi-platform Metabolomics Studies

        <P>Dietary restriction (DR) has many beneficial effects, but the detailed metabolic mechanism remains largely unresolved. As diet is essentially related to metabolism, we investigated the metabolite profiles of urines from control and DR animals using NMR and LC/MS metabolomic approaches. Multivariate analysis presented distinctive metabolic profiles and marker signals from glucuronide and glycine conjugation pathways in the DR group. Broad profiling of the urine phase II metabolites with neutral loss scanning showed that levels of glucuronide and glycine conjugation metabolites were generally higher in the DR group. The up-regulation of phase II detoxification in the DR group was confirmed by mRNA and protein expression levels of uridinediphospho-glucuronosyltransferase and glycine-N-acyltransferase in actual liver tissues. Histopathology and serum biochemistry showed that DR was correlated with the beneficial effects of low levels of serum alanine transaminase and glycogen granules in liver. In addition, the Nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 signaling pathway was shown to be up-regulated, providing a mechanistic clue regarding the enhanced phase II detoxification in liver tissue. Taken together, our metabolomic and biochemical studies provide a possible metabolic perspective for understanding the complex mechanism underlying the beneficial effects of DR.</P>

        Two new tirucallane triterpenoids from the leaves of Aquilaria sinensis

        Two new tirucallane triterpenoids, aquilacallanesA–B (1–2), together with 15 known compounds(3–17) were isolated from the leaves of Aquilaria sinensis. The structures of these new compounds were elucidated onthe basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses. All compoundswere evaluated for their cytotoxic activity againstfive human cancer cell lines. The known compounds,ursolic acid (7) and 5,7,40-trimethoxyflavone (14), exhibitedweak cytotoxic activity against some cells.

      • A Study on the DC Link Voltage Balancing for Power Conditioners based on Cascaded H-bridges

        In medium and high power field, cascade multilevel converter has been paid more attentions to research and application. When the cascade multilevel converters compensate reactive power and harmonic current, the control of the floating capacitor voltage has been being a hot research topic. So far, DC bus voltage balance control method can be divided into two groups: circuit balance and algorithm balance. The latter one is preferable from both cost and other aspects. Based on layered control algorithm, this paper focus on the voltage balance fundament and analyzes the process of DC capacitor’s absorbing active power and releasing active power with the influence of converter’s output pulse voltage. Based on this fundament, a new control method, voltage vector trimming in the parallel direction, is introduced. Compared with other DC voltage balance control methods, this method has the advantage of improving efficiency of DC voltage. At last, the simulation based on the tools of matlab/simulink is made. The simulation result results indict that this DC voltage balance control method functions well.

      • Metabotyping of the <i>C. elegans sir-2.1</i> Mutant Using <i>in Vivo</i> Labeling and <sup>13</sup>C-Heteronuclear Multidimensional NMR Metabolomics

        <P>The roles of <I>sir-2.1</I> in <I>C. elegans</I> lifespan extension have been subjects of recent public and academic debates. We applied an efficient workflow for <I>in vivo</I><SUP>13</SUP>C-labeling of <I>C. elegans</I> and <SUP>13</SUP>C-heteronuclear NMR metabolomics to characterizing the metabolic phenotypes of the <I>sir-2.1</I> mutant. Our method delivered sensitivity 2 orders of magnitude higher than that of the unlabeled approach, enabling 2D and 3D NMR experiments. Multivariate analysis of the NMR data showed distinct metabolic profiles of the mutant, represented by increases in glycolysis, nitrogen catabolism, and initial lipolysis. The metabolomic analysis defined the <I>sir-2.1</I> mutant metabotype as the decoupling between enhanced catabolic pathways and ATP generation. We also suggest the relationship between the metabotypes, especially the branched chain amino acids, and the roles of <I>sir-2.1</I> in the worm lifespan.         Mutations in AP22.65 Accelerate Flowering in Arabidopsis thaliana

        Identification of the gene(s) responsible for floweringtime in Arabidopsis has significant implications. We used theT-DNA insertion library of Arabidopsis thaliana to screen anearly-flowering mutant that exhibits accelerated floweringunder short-day conditions. AP22.65, a novel flowering-timegene in that species, was isolated and identified via genomewalkingand bioinformatics analysis. The flowering time ofAP22.65-complementing plants was similar to that of theCol-0 wild type (WT). Conversely, its overexpression delayedflowering. Consistent with this phenotype, expression ofAP22.65 was decreased in the ap22.65-1 mutant, recoveredin AP22.65-complementing plants, and increased in AP22.65-overexpressing plants. Compared with the WT, expressionlevels of critical genes in different flowering pathways, i.e.,SPY, FLC, GI, CO, FT, and LFY, were down-regulated inloss-of-function mutants. Expression of AP22.65 was distributedin flowers, siliques, rosette leaves, and whole seedlings. Therefore, this gene may be a negative regulator of Arabidopsisflowering.

        A heat transfer tube wear reliability analysis method based on first-order reliability method

        The heat transfer tube is one of the most essential components of the nuclear power plant as the boundary between the first and second circuit pressures. The wear between the heat transfer tube and the support plate or the anti-vibration strip is one of the essential reasons for its failure. Based on a heat transfer tube wear analysis method, combined with the reliability analysis theory, the calculation scheme of tube wear failure probability is proposed in this paper. In the analysis and calculation process, the key factors affecting the reliability are determined, including the baffle thickness B and the aperture difference Ce. In the manufacturing process, these key factors can be controlled, which is instructive for engineering practice.

      • ANXA2 Regulates the Behavior of SGC-7901 Cells

        ANXA2, a member of the annexin family, is overexpressed and plays important roles in tumor development. However, the significance of ANXA2 expression in gastric carcinoma has not been clarified.To elucidate its roles in growth of gastric cancer, ANXA2 expression in SGC-7901 cells was inhibited with a designated siRNA, then cell proliferation, cell cycling, apoptosis and motility were determined by MTT assay, flow cytometry, Hoechst 33342 staining and wound healing assay, respectively. To further assess the behavior of ANXA2 deleted SGC-7901 cells, changes of microstructures were observed under fluorescence microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy and electron microscopy. We found that inhibition of ANXA2 expression caused cell proliferation to decrease significantly with G1 arrest, motility to be reduced with changes in pseudopodia/filopodia structure and F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin expression, and apoptosis to be enhanced albeit without significance. At the same time, ANXA2 deletion resulted in fewer pseudopodia/filopodia, non-stained areas were increased, contact inhibition among cells reappeared, and expression of F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin was decreased, with induction of polymerized disassembled forms. Taken together, these data suggest that ANXA2 overexpression is important to maintain the malignancy of cancer cells, and this member of the annexin family has potential to be considered as a target for the gene therapy of gastric carcinoma.

        Prevalence of Spina Bifida Occulta and Its Relationship With Overactive Bladder in Middle-Aged and Elderly Chinese People

        Purpose: To investigate the prevalence of spina bifida occulta (SBO) and its relationship with the presence of overactive bladder (OAB) in middle-aged and elderly people in China. Methods: A cross-sectional community-based survey was carried out at 7 communities in Zhengzhou City, China from December 15, 2013 to June 10, 2014, where residents aged over 40 years were randomly selected to participate. All of the participants underwent lumbosacral radiographic analysis and relevant laboratory tests. A questionnaire including basic information, past medical history and present illness, and the OAB symptom score was filled out by all participants. Chi-square tests and logistic regression were used for data analysis with a P-value of <0.05 denoting statistical significance. Results: A total of 1,061 subjects were qualified for the final statistical analysis (58.8±11.7 years; male, 471 [44.4%]; female, 590 [55.6%]). The overall prevalence of SBO was 15.1% (160 of 1,061): 18.3% (86 of 471) in men and 12.5% (74 of 590) in women. Among these subjects, 13.7% (145 of 1,061) had OAB: 13.2% (62 of 471) in men and 14.1% (83 of 590) in women. The results of logistic regression showed that age, SBO, history of cerebral infarction (HCI), and constipation were risk factors for OAB (P<0.05), while sex, history of childhood enuresis (HCE), body mass index (BMI), and diabetes mellitus (DM) were not (P>0.05). In men, age, SBO, and constipation were risk factors for OAB (P<0.05), while HCE, BMI, DM, HCI, and benign prostate hyperplasia were not (P>0.05). In women, age, SBO, and HCI were risk factors for OAB (P<0.05), while HCE, BMI, DM, vaginal delivery, and constipation were not (P>0.05). Conclusions: The prevalence of SBO is high and it is related to OAB in middle-aged and elderly people in China.

      • Low Counts of γδ T Cells in Peritumoral Liver Tissue are Related to More Frequent Recurrence in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Curative Resection

        Objectives: TCR-gamma-delta+T cells (${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells) are non-conventional T lymphocytes that can recognize and eradicate tumor cells. Our previous studies showed that infiltration and function of ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells were substantially attenuated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, their prognostic value was not clarified. Methods: The association between ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells and the clinical outcomes was determined by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in a HCC patient cohort (n = 342). Results:Immunohistochemistry showed decreased infiltration of ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells in tumoral tissues compared with paired peritumoral tissues. The counts of ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells in peritumoral tissues were negatively correlated with tumor size (P = 0.005). Survival analysis showed that the levels of peritumoral ${\gamma}{\delta}$T cells were related to both time to recurrence (TTR) and overall survival (OS) (P = 0.010 and P = 0.036, respectively) in univariate analysis, and related to TTR in multivariate analysis (P = 0.014, H.R. [95% CI] = 0.682 [0.502-0.927]). Furthermore, the level of peritumoral ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells showed independent prognostic value for TTR in Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage A patients (P = 0.038, H.R. [95% CI] = 0.727 [0.537-0.984]). However, tumoral ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells did not show independent prognostic value for either TTR or OS in HCC patients. Conclusions: Low counts of ${\gamma}{\delta}$ T cells in peritumoral liver tissue are related to a higher incidence of recurrence in HCC and can predict postoperative recurrence, especially in those with early-stage HCC.
