<P>The branching fractions of the Upsilon(1S) inclusive decays into final states with a J/psi or psi(2S) are measured with improved precision to be B Upsilon(1S) -> J/psi + anything = (5.25 +/- 0.13(stat) +/- 0.25(syst) x 10(-4) and B Upsilon(1S) -> psi(2S) + anything = (1.23 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.11(syst)) x 10(-4). The first search for Upsilon(1S) decays into XYZ states that decay into a J/psi or a psi(2S) plus one or two charged tracks yields no significant signals for XYZ states in any of the examined decay modes, and upper limits on their production rates in Upsilon(1S) inclusive decays are determined.</P>

Vacuum-puffing has been found to be a very useful process for production of non-deep-fried Yukwa as it ideally produced highly porous and soft texture. In this study, we compared the effects of different green tea powder (GTP) concentrations of 0, 2, 5 and 10 g/100 g on the qualities of vacuum-puffed Yukwa and deep-fried Yukwa. The fat contents of deep-fried Yukwa were significantly higher than vacuum-puffed Yukwa at the same GTP concentrations. Yukwa bases of 10 g/100 g GTP level contained higher total catechins and caffeine contents for vacuum-puffed Yukwa than deep-fried Yukwa. Vacuum-puffed Yukwa had more total phenolics and flavonoids, and a better scavenging effect on DPPH and reducing power than deep-fried Yukwa at the same green tea concentrations. Vacuum-puffing produced more breakable expanded pellets than deep-frying. The sensory evaluation of Yukwa base showed deep-fried Yukwa added with 2 g/100 g GTP was preferred for all the examined properties.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Early and differential diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a problem that puzzled many doctors. Reliable markers in easy‐assembling samples are of considerable clinical diagnostic value. In this work, laser Raman spectroscopy (LRS) was developed a new method that potentially allows early and differential diagnosis of AD from the platelet sample. Raman spectra of platelets isolated from different ages of AD transgenic mice and non‐transgenic controls were collected and analyzed. Multilayer perceptron networks (MLP) classification method was used to classify spectra and establish the diagnostic models. For differential diagnosis, spectra of platelets isolated from AD, Parkinson’s disease (PD) and vascular dementia (VD) mice were also discriminated. Two notable spectral differences at 740 and 1654 cm<SUP>–1</SUP> were revealed in the mean spectrum of platelets isolated from AD transgenic mice and the controls. MLP displayed a powerful ability in the classifying of early, advanced AD and the control group, and in differential diagnosis of PD and advanced AD, as well as VD and advanced AD. The results suggest that platelet detecting by LRS coupled with MLP analysis appears to be an easy and accurate method for early and differential diagnosis of AD. Spatial distribution of defect in ZnO nanodisks

ZnO nanodisks were fabricated by vapor–vapor transport using zinc powder as source material. The photoluminescence (PL) and Raman scattering spectra were investigated. Based on the mapping technology, the Raman signals combined with PL were used to construct images, which revealed the spatial distribution of defect in ZnO nanodisks. It provides an intuitive method to understand the defect distribution and further helpful to growth control of crystal and design of functional materials and devices.
