The phenolic substances, antioxidant capacity, and enzyme inhibitory activity of germinated Fagopyrum tataricum (Tartary buckwheat) under different microwave and L-phenylalanine (L-Phe) were investigated for the potential of enriching polyphenols. With the germination of seeds, the contents of total phenolics and total flavonoids increased, the antioxidant capacity and enzyme inhibitory activity were enhanced. The highest contents of total phenolics and total flavonoids in Tartary buckwheat sprouts were 17.41 mg GAE/g and 6.26 g RE/100 g DW (7 days), respectively. Correlation analysis and principal component analysis indicated that T3 (microwave 250 W, 90 s; L-Phe 2.9 mmol/L) could effectively improve the content of polyphenols, enzyme inhibition activity and antioxidant capacity of Tartary buckwheat sprouts obviously. This study hopes to provide some new ideas for enriching phenolics and improving antioxidation of Tartary buckwheat sprouts.

Background/Aims: Endoscopic wound suturing is an important factor that affects the ability to remove large and full-thickness lesionsduring endoscopic resection. We aimed to evaluate the effect of a traction metal clip with a fishhook-like device on wound sutures afterendoscopic resection. Methods: From July 2020 to April 2021, patients who met the enrollment criteria were treated with a fishhook-like device during theoperation to suture the postoperative wound (group A). Patients with similar conditions and similar size wounds who were treatedwith a “purse-string suture” to suture the wounds were retrospectively analyzed as the control group (group B). Difference in the suturerate, adverse events, time required for suturing, and number of metal clips were compared between the two groups. Results: The time required for suturing was 7.72±0.51 minutes in group A and 11.50±0.91 minutes in group B. This difference was statisticallysignificant (F=13.071, p=0.001). The number of metal clamps used in group A averaged 8.1 pieces/case, and the number ofmetal clamps used in group B averaged 7.3 pieces/case. This difference was not statistically significant (F=0.971, p=0.331). Conclusions: The traction metal clip with the fishhook-like device is ingeniously designed and easy to operate. It has a good suture effecton the wound after endoscopic submucosal dissection and effectively prevents postoperative adverse events.

Active damping methods are widely adopted to present a damping effect on the resonance phenomenon without the power loss of LCL-type converters connected to a grid. However, extra sensors are used to implement the damping strategy. In this paper, a sensorless damping strategy where only the grid current is sampled has been proposed. Furthermore, the inner relationship between the tradition capacitor current feedback strategy and the proposed strategy has been clarified. Considering the digital delay and a weak grid, a robust method that uses unit delay feedback to mitigate the phase lag and to widen the effective damping interval has been developed. With this simple measure, stability is enhanced during the Nyquist frequency and robustness is improved when the LCL parameters vary and grid impedance exists. Finally, simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility and engineering significance of the proposed strategy.

Dioscorea zingiberensis is the main plant source of diosgenin, a precursor for the production of steroid hormones used in the pharmaceutical industry. The extraction process of diosgenin from D. zingiberensis can generate high-acid and high-strength wastewater on a large scale and can threaten the environment. Bioengineering microorganisms to produce diosgenin is an effective way to avoid pollution. However, little is known about the genes that are involved in the biosynthesis of diosgenin. We obtained 85,010 unigenes (average length of 1142 bases) from the D. zingiberensis transcriptome through RNAseq. A large number of unigenes (59,368; 69.83%) were annotated, and 2488 unigenes were assigned to 27 secondary- metabolite pathways. In our database, 66 unigenes encoding up to 40 key enzymes were found to be present in diosgenin biosynthesis pathways. In addition, we found 203 unigenes encoding CYP450 proteins and 47 unigenes encoding UGT proteins that may be involved in modifications of a downstream pathway. The expression patterns of key diosgenin biosynthesis genes were studied to identify the most important members of the enzyme family. These results add to the available genetic data of D. zingiberensis and lay the foundation for the further production of diosgenin using genetic engineering.

The aim of this study was to apply and to verify the use of artificial neural network (ANN) and weight of evidence (WoE) models to landslide susceptibility mapping in the Gongliu county, China, using a geographic information system (GIS). For this aim, in this study, a landslide inventory map was prepared using earlier reports and aerial photographs as well as by carrying out field surveys. A total of 163 landslides (70% out of 233 detected landslides) were randomly selected for model training, and the remaining 70 landslides (30%) were used for the model validation. Then, a total number of twelve landslide conditioning factors, such as slope angle, slope aspect, general curvature, plan curvature, profile curvature, altitude, distance to rivers, distance to roads, lithology, rainfall, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), and sediment transport index (STI), were used in the analysis. Landslide hazardous areas were analyzed and mapped using the landslide-occurrence factors by ANN and WoE models. Finally the output maps were validated using the area under the curve (AUC) method. The validation results showed that the ANN model with a success rate of 82.51% and predictive accuracy of 77.31% performs better than WoE (success rate, 79.82%; predictive accuracy, 74.59%) model. Overall, both models showed almost similar results. Therefore, the two landslide susceptibility maps obtained were successful and can be useful for preliminary general land use planning and hazard mitigation purpose.
Active current-limiting control to handle DC line fault of overhead DC grid

To handle with the DC line faults in a DC grid, this paper proposed an active current-limiting controller for hybrid MMC. With this active current-limiting control strategy, the requirement of interruption current of DCCB will be significantly decreased, and the investment of DC grid will be reduced obviously. Firstly, the control architecture of active current-limiting controller is disclosed. To avoid the overvoltage of submodule capacitors during DC fault, a dynamic limiter for the reference value of the DC current controller is proposed. To decrease the peak of fault current, the feedforward controller of DC voltage is put forward. The decoupling controllability of the AC/DC voltage of hybrid MMC is disclosed. The currentlimiting mechanism of the active current-limiting controller is analysis. Then, the validity of the active current-limiting control strategy is verified by RTDS.
