Effect of P3HT passivation layer on triple cation organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite memristor

Triple cation organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite (TCP) memristor is a novel candidate for artificial visual applications due to the integrating of recognition, storage, and computing. However, concerns remain regarding the moisture-induced degradation and thermal stability. Here, P3HT was deposited on the TCP film to optimize the memristor performance which showed better film surface quality and lower power consumption. When the thickness of the P3HT layer increases, the grain boundary of the TCP film was gradually filled, leading to the inhibition of the ions/vacancies drifting, and thus the device type was changed from digital to analog. Besides, various functions are demonstrated in TCP photoelectric memristor including excitatory postsynaptic current under optic and electric stimulations and spike rate-dependent plasticity, proving the great application prospects in numerical calculation and information perception.

Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) is efficiently transmitted in a semi-persistent manner by the brown citrus aphid (Toxoptera citricida (Kirkaldy)). Currently, the most sensitive method for detecting plant viruses in insect vectors is reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). In this study, the elongation factor-1 alpha (EF-1α) gene and acidic p0 ribosomal protein (RPAP0) gene were confirmed to be suitable reference genes for RT-qPCR normalization in viruliferous T. citricida aphids using the geNorm, NormFinder, and BestKeeper tools. Then the relative CTV titer in aphids (T. citricida) at different post-acquisition feeding times on healthy plants was quantified by RT-qPCR using EF-1α and RPAP0 as reference genes. The relative CTV titer retained in the aphids gradually decreased with increasing feeding time. During the first 0.5 h of feeding time on healthy plants, the remaining CTV titer in aphids showed about 80% rapid loss for the highly transmissible isolate CT11A and 40% loss for the poorly transmissible isolate CTLJ. The relative CTV titer in aphids during more than 12 h post-acquisition times for CT11A was significantly lower than at the other feeding times, which is similar to the trend found for CTLJ. To our knowledge, this is the first report about the relative titer variation of CTV remaining in T. citricida at different post-acquisition feeding times on healthy plants.

Crude glycerol, a by-product of the biodiesel production process, contains a high amount of fatty acidsthat cannot be used directly without removing the strong dark color. This study aims to remove the color impuritiesin crude fatty acids, prepared by acid-precipitation and hexane extraction, using acid-activated clay as an adsorbent. The effects of bleaching temperature, contact time, the amount of acid-activated clay, and concentration of color im-purities were investigated. No significant effects of bleaching temperature or contact time were observed. In an opti-mization study using the central composite design, complete decolorization was achieved at an optimized condition,in which 3.5 g of clay was added to 10 mL of crude fatty acid solution with an optical density at 373 nm of20. Notably,more than 80% of the peroxides was concurrently removed. However, a 37% loss in fatty acids was observed duringdecolorization. The clay was repeatedly used without loss of adsorption capability if it was calcined at 600 oC after use.
