HARMONIC MAPS AND BIHARMONIC MAPS ON PRINCIPAL BUNDLES AND WARPED PRODUCTS
Urakawa, Hajime Korean Mathematical Society 2018 대한수학회지 Vol.55 No.3
In this paper, we study harmonic maps and biharmonic maps on the principal G-bundle in Kobayashi and Nomizu and also the warped product $P=M{\times}_fF$ for a $C^{\infty}$(M) function f on M studied by Bishop and O'Neill, and Ejiri.

Vol.1 No.1
This paper explores Rha Hyeseok’s social consciousness from the perspective of the type of society she sought. In general, many strongly support the idea that “New Women” emphasizes only the ‘discovery of self’ and that it mainly discusses free love and the new chastity theory. However, many of her early writings also focused on the condition of society at the time. Underlying her early work was the hope for Korea’s economic development through industrialization, derived from her deep intellectual thought which was characterized by modern rational thinking. Furthermore, she had a strong desire for individual psychological enrichment. She strived for the type of life not governed by a nation or morals which allows each individual to pursue his or her interests autonomously. This coincided with the tone of arguments expressed by Akiko Yosano, a writer of the same era. After the divorce, her writings increasingly focused on the inner world, and she candidly expressed her inner conflicts and split between ‘Paris’ and ‘Korea.’ Her writings are a valuable testimony to the era she lived in as they convey the shift in her early ideals as well as her struggles against it in the face of reality.
Component dynamics in miscible polymer blends: A review of recent findings
Watanabe, Hiroshi,Urakawa, Osamu The Korean Society of Rheology 2009 Korea-Australia rheology journal Vol.21 No.4
Miscible polymer blends still have heterogeneity in their component chain concentration in the segmental length scale because of the chain connectivity (that results in the self-concentration of the segments of respective chains) as well as the dynamic fluctuation over various length scales. As a result, the blend components feel different dynamic environments to exhibit different temperature dependence in their segmental relaxation rates. This type of dynamic heterogeneity often results in a broad glass transition (sometimes seen as two separate transitions), a broad distribution of the local (segmental) relaxation modes, and the thermo-rheological complexity of this distribution. Furthermore, the dynamic heterogeneity also affects the global dynamics in the miscible blends if the component chains therein have a large dynamic asymmetry. Thus, the superficially simple miscible blends exhibit interesting dynamic behavior. This article gives a brief summary of the features of the segmental and global dynamics in those blends.

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a ring resonator with sharp U-turns fabricated on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate; the resonator was designed as a key part of an optical, dynamic data storage device. We discuss the optical properties of the fabricated ring resonator from the viewpoint of equi-frequency-contour behavior in a dispersion space. We successfully characterize its optical characteristics on the basis of photonic crystal physics. It is suggested that the photonic ring resonator will be applicable to optical, dynamic memory devices for optical communication systems.
